9:51pm: So when I got home from the gym today N from the main house let me know what was up with the internet, apparently it's been throttled because Telstra didn't have a record of the bill having been paid, despite the fact that N personally went into a Teltra shop last week and paid it. WTF? How did that happen?! And to add insult to injury, even though the payment is now noted on the account it can take up to 24 hours for the throttling to be lifted. Fucking hopeless.

Anyway, I haven't been online all that much today, not just because of that but because I was cleaning the flat this morning before I headed off to M and Grandpa's to do some ironing for them - I met them in the Dining Room at the Retirement Village where I got to partake in a delicious pavlova dessert which M had saved for me (she took some of Grandpa's hee) before we all went back to their villa. I got $20 for my ironing, which was much appreciated since I had to do some food shopping after going to the gym today and that came very much in handy. I'll be lacking in dollars until I get paid for my Personal Care Assisting - bloody company is so weirdly slow - the timesheet gets submitted on Friday, but I don't get the money until the following Thursday!

So, I got everything I needed to do today, although I ended up missing the bus that goes nearly directly to the flat so I had to get the one that stops around the corner and up the hill. The sky looked quite threatening, but it didn't pour down while I was walking back here, so phew for that!

Stitches

1.Where on your body have you had stitches, and what were the circumstances? On my lower right abdomen, which are the result of an operation I needed to have as baby when it was discovered I had a twisted duodeum. While the doctors were straightening it out they took my appendix out!

2. Who most recently left you in stitches? Hmmm...do I count the comedians I saw on a rerun of Thank God You're Here that I watched tonight? Otherwise, I'm not sure!

3. “A stitch in time saves nine,” says the proverb, which means that mending one small tear in a fabric now prevents having to make nine stitches later when the damage is worse. How has this been illustrated in your life? Well...I once didn't fix a small tear in my pants and indeed I ended up with a huge pants ruining rip in them. Booo.

4. What are your thoughts on Disney’s Lilo & Stitch? I've only seen it once, but I very much enjoyed it!

5. What experience do you have with needle and thread? Until a couple of years ago not a lot! But then I decided to make my own Pinkie Pie Loaf, then a Pinkie Pie Plushy, then a Pinkie Pie Cutie Mark inspired mobile phone pouch...and finally a Plushy Plush. So quite a lot of experience! All by hand though, I've been unable to find a sewing machine that works.

The (Other) Friday Five

Recommend one:

1. Book Well, having seen part of the movie yesterday I'd highly recommend Mao's Last Dancer, the autobiography of Li Cunxin. Amazing story.

2. College/University/Personal Interest course Uh...geeze, I dunno. Whatever you want to do :OP

3. Song Hmmm well I do enjoy Closing Time by Semisonic. Old school ahoy!

4. Web Site Can't go past TV Tropes, although warning, you'll waste a whole day on that thing!

5. Something of your choosing (ie- author, video game, food, movie, etc) Well, I'd definitely recommend the Back to the Future trilogy! Best movies ever! And this year is the 30th Anniversary of the first film coming out!

20/3/2015

This week's questions brought to us by rajni, the number 5, and the letter F.

1. What was your favorite book during childhood? The Adrian Mole series! Love those books. :O)

2. What is your favorite book now? I do still love the Adrian Mole books...I do love the Harry Potter series too.

3. What is your favorite movie adaptation of a book? Ooo, that's a toughie...I'm going to say Bridget Jones's Diary because Mark Darcy is Colin Firth in that! :OP

4. Do you prefer checking out books from the library or buying them? Buying them, although I've been doing more borrowing lately because I only have so much space so it's not in my best interest to keep buying books!

5. Have you ever been let down by a book that was highly recommended to you? Hmmm...no not that I can I think of...Although with few exceptions most of the so-called 'Highly Recommend Books' for study during High School English sure have sucked ass.

Well, son of a bitch, my laptop decided to be an asshole and I had to shut it down. I lost two of the Saturday 9's that I'd filled out! And now it's too late to redo them because I need to get to bed. I shall have to fill them out again tomorrow.

For now though...goodnight!
