Well, That Was A Little Strange...

11:14pm: So there's this visiting priest helping out in our parish for Easter this year, I didn't actually know this, but it explains why he did Holy Thursday, Stations of the Cross and tonight's Easter Vigil.
However, his mass's are weird! Like it was a mix up of the old words and the new words (the retranslated the mass a couple of years ago) so I couldn't follow it in my Missal and yeah...the songs were also weird and apparently he brought along his own Powerpoint guys, and that didn't go along all that smoothly, although I guess it could have been worse. Mum and I spent no small amount of time looking at each other and thinking "What's all this then?"
Also there was applauding in the church! This is a big no-no for my father, who fortunately wasn't there, LOL. It was somewhat amusing that the same organist who usually does our masses - I've mentioned him before he's totally old school - was also playing and seemed to have no complaints at all. Hmpf! Guess he's nice to the visitors.
And I don't know what I'm watching on the ABC here, but there's a lot of sexing-up of people interspersed with scenes of wounded people from World War I. I'm further confused because it seems to be the same guy in both scenes...having a flashback? Well, I suppose if you're gonna hallucinate while badly wounded it may as well be about sexy-times.
Anyway! I didn't realise it was getting so late, time was going quite slowly today, but now it's almost midnight and I can't stay up too late, because tomorrow we go to M and Grandpas for Easter lunch.
Saturday 9
: Here Comes Peter Cottontail (1950):
1) Which do you prefer: colored hard-boiled eggs, chocolate marshmallow eggs, or plastic eggs with coins inside? Out of those three? Well clearly plain chocolate eggs, since the ones with marshmallow in the middle are a bit much, but if I can't pick that...I'm going for the coloured hard boiled eggs, LOL make it healthy.
2) What's your favorite color of Peeps (yellow, purple, or pink)? We don't have those in Australia so now idea.
3) All this talk of sweets is making Sam hungry. What's for lunch? It's nearly midnight! But tomorrow it'll be the traditional roast Easter lunch, potatoes...yum!
4) This song was introduced by country singer Gene Autry and it's still a favorite. Please share some of the lyrics. (And you're on your own; Sam didn't include a link to the song this week.) That's a very odd request I feel, but here ya go:
You'll wake up on Easter mornin'
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those chocolate bunnies
That he's hiding everywhere

5) Gene Autry was so popular that a town in Oklahoma named itself for him. Have you ever been to Oklahoma? Nope. I've been to California and Massachuttes (spelling?) though.
6) In addition to singing, Mr. Autry made 93 cowboy movies. What's the last movie you saw? Son of a bitch, that's a heap! And err...I guess unless you count the last 10 minutes of Stick It, it'd be Grease 2, gawd how embarrassing.
7) He and his horse Champion also had a TV show. Can you name another famous horse? Mr Ed, duh! Also was this the dude that Simpsons episode was based on?
8) Gene Autry also recorded "Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer," and it was, of course, wildly popular, too. Who is your favorite recording artist? "Like a light bulb!" My favourite individual singer...I don't really have one, I like bands! If I had to pick one...The Corrs, love those guys.
9) Back to the holiday celebration at hand -- Easter is considered the season of rebirth. What leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated? A lovely cool drink of water, oooh yeah. Sadly I don't have one here with me. Do'h.
Or once again Meme...I forget I'm in the future! :OP But hey this means I can turn in sooner rather than later.
So! I say goodnight to you all and Happy Easter!
