Lessons in Time Keeping...

10:35pm: I believe I've mentioned my problems with time keeping before, but this morning it really came and bit me on the ass.
I missed the train to Forbes!
Yes! After making sure to go to bed early and be properly packed, I lost track of time straightening up my room (so Mum and Dad wouldn't be upset if they had to go up there for some reason or some prospective buyers came to look at the place etc) and by the time I realised we had just over 10 minutes to get to the station! Mum made a valiant effort but too late! D:
And the next train wouldn't leave until 2:40 and arrive in Forbes til after 10pm! But there was nothing else to be done so I resigned myself to a long wait. I decided to go to Lithgow and await the bus from there just because, which turned out to be a very good idea, Mum had suggested renting a car there, but there were none available. However! I was looking at the train website and discovered that I could get a bus to Orange - which is an hour and forty five minutes away from Forbes, where there was cars available, so off I went!
I haven't driven in the country since I was like 18, where I almost fell asleep at the wheel and have never wanted to repeat the experience! However, just under two hours driving seemed within my ability to do and fortunately the hire car I got is very spiffy indeed (I'll get a picture of it later) and it wasn't too bad. Although once I got into town I had a bit of trouble finding the house, because my sense of direction is non-existent. Eventually I had to turn on my phone's roaming GPS so I could get my bearings. But I got here!
Now that we've got the car my friend and I went out to the supermarket and got some snacks, we also went and got a pizza and went to look at the lake and tomorrow is the Heritage Festival at the local park! Very much looking forward to that. I've even got what I think are some semi-suitable clothes for the event!
So yes! The day started off rather badly but has ended up very well indeed.
Friday Question
27/4/12
Do you (did you) feed your pet table scraps? What kind of “human” foods do (did) they like to eat, if any?
No, I've never had a pet that's been able to eat table scraps, but my parents have had a few dogs and they've fed them just about anything - except for chocolate and chicken bones of course! And being dogs they like everything and anything!
Friday Fill-Ins
And...here we go!
1. After a while, I still can't come up with a good answer for these questions!
2. I managed to get down to my friend's house, at least.
3. Well, anyway, I just finished some chocolate mousse, it was bloody delicious!
4. This cough I still have after catching a cold is beginning to get a bit worrying to me.
5. I always remember to brush!
6. Creative writing keeps me going.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing up these memes and hanging with my friend some more, tomorrow my plans include the Heritage Festival and more sheniagans and Sunday, I want to kick back and hopefully Skype with the overseas friends!
Friday5
Takeout
1. What was the last thing you took out of your microwave oven? Let me think...I believe it was some butter, I needed it to melt a little bit so I could make cupcakes.
2. What was the last thing you took out of the washing machine? My clothes obviously! But if you want to get technical, I believe it was a pair of black socks.
3. What was the last thing you took out of the trunk of your automobile? Don't have an automobile to call my own I haven't used the trunk of the rental car yet.
4. What was the last thing you took out of your mouth? Well I had something stuck in my teeth, not sure what it was, I got it out though.
5. What was the last thing you took out of an envelope? Ah, I think I had to open an envelope I sealed at work to put something in it on Thursday. Or possibly it was something I got from Centrelink, I can't be sure.
The (Other) Friday Five
Romantic
1. Do you consider yourself romantic? Why? Well, I enjoy romance novels and movies and things, so I guess so!
2. Has your partner or any person in your past informed you that you were romantic? How did you take it? My fellow RPers have mentioned it to me I think. It's given me a chuckle since I'm not interested in real life romance.
3. If your partner has told you that the romance has left the relationship, would you do anything to bring it back? What would you do to re-ignite the romantic spark? Uh, I guess I'd plan a few date nights and stuff?
4. Do you think you can have romantic feelings for more than one person, either at the same time or in a lifetime? Sure, why not.
5. Is there anyone in your past (or present) that you feel romantic toward that is not your partner? Nah.
Wow, doesn't time fly! After 11pm all ready, I better wrap this up and go brush my teeth.
Goodnight!
