9:05pm: Or at least some of them...why is a mystery, I mean there's no rhyme or reason to it... So I'm considering my options. I can't get my Pagegangster flipping albums to work online (they work jsut fine on my laptop...so strange), so perhaps I could put my hard work to good use by just posting the pages even if they don't have that nifty effect.
Right, after a lot of thought and checking (for some reason Image Shack won't let me re-upload the missing photos even though I can't see why they would breech the terms of service or anything like that), so I've decided to get myself a picoodle account so I can alternate my uploadage. Strange happenings indeed.
Unfortunately, this does require me to go through all my past entries, find what photos are missing and upload them.
I'm currently up to 1912...heh this may take a while.
In other news, I've been watching the Olympics on and off all day trying to spot the gymnastics, so far there's been Dressage, Cycling, Beach Volley Ball, Basketball, Badminton, Women's Weightlifting, Rowing and Swimming, but no sign of gymnastics! I hope it's coming up next 'cause it's in the program and everything.
Bugger, they're showing Road Race Highlights next (Cadell Evan's made a late comeback, but didn't manage to win). Come on, gymnastics bring it on!

Four For Friday
Q1 - Revive: When you're dragging or lacking energy and on the verge of letting out a succession of yawns and you have work to do, what do you do to snap out of it?
I either shaking my head really hard, give my cheeks a hard pat, eat some chocolate, or clench my jaw to prevent yawning (this might actually be bad for you...I'm not sure...)
Q2 - Turning: Do you turn your blinker on when you're in a clearly designated and differentiated turning lane?
Usually, because you should always indicate, if for no other reason then force of habit.
Q3 - Tracking: BrickHouse Security recently partnered with Duracell batteries for a national advertising campaign to highlight the lifesaving value of child locator devices/beacons. BrickHouse's device is said to helps parents relocate wandering children before the unthinkable can happen. If you have small children, have you ever considered using such a devise? If you don't have children yet, is this something you think you'd use?
Hmmm...interesting...I wouldn't put it on a kid who was 8 or over without their permission, but the young ones, definitely, kids are great escape artists, so it's good to be able to keep tabs on 'em.
Q4 - Olympics: At initial glance, one might think the International Olympic Committee blundered by awarding the 2008 Summer Games to a city in a totalitarian country that aids Darfur's thugs but considers the Dalai Lama a menace, and that censors political debate but can't silence the hacking coughs from some of the planet's most polluted cities. The four other finalists for the 2008 Olympics were all fine and attractive cities that were most certainly less controversial than Beijing (safe to say we wouldn't have seen "Free Saskatchewan" protests leading up to a Toronto version of these Summer Games). And perhaps that's precisely the point: whether it was the IOC's intention or not, due to all the surrounding sagas, Beijing seems to have made the Olympics interesting again. Regardless, with concern for environmental impact and human rights existing across the globe, do you think the U.S. and other countries should have boycotted the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, or do you think having them in a communistic country will eventually lead to democracy for that country?
Hmmm, to be honest...I dunno. I mean China promised a lot of things it didn't deliver for these games, although the media doesn't seem to want to rock the boat, they show Tianemen Square all the time with no mention of what happened 20 years ago to those students. Having said that though, a boycott probably would have done more harm than good. I hope all the foreign dignatries in attendance bring up the Tibet and Tiawan issue among other things while.
However, I'm not sure if the US is in the position to protest too much about the Dafur thing, considering its Government's disturbing history with the Taliban and Saddam Hussien. Maybe they can say "Learn from us and don't go there!"

The Birthday Edition

2. What are five things you would like to get for your next birthday?
I dunno...never really thought about it...surprise me! ;O)

Also my favourit cake from Michel's please.
4. What is the best birthday memory you have?
Wow...I dunno...I guess the ice skating birthday I had when I was 14 (at least I think that was the birthday). That was great fun!
5. Are you doing anything special for your next birthday?
It's still months and months away, so nope, not at present.

I Saw It In the Movies
1. In Citizen Kane, the main character’s last word before dying is “Rosebud,” which is discovered later to be the name of a favorite childhood sled. The idea is that this rich, powerful, hated man, in his last moment, finds himself thinking of happy, innocent times. If the film were about your life, what word might you utter in similar sentiment?
Trampoline...ah all those hours and stories made up in my mind as I jumped on my trampoline...those were the days.
2. In Groundhog Day, the main character is forced to live the same day again and again until he has learned to love others and to love himself. If you found yourself in an endless loop, living one day repeatedly until you learned the lesson that was holding you back, what would that lesson be?
In light of recent work problems it would be "Double, double, double check!"
3. In Freaky Friday, a mother and daughter who have difficulty understanding each other find themselves each living the other’s life (occupying the other’s body and everything!). If this were to happen to you for similar reasons, whose body would you wake up in?
Hmm...maybe George W. Bush's, which would be scary as shit...here's hoping I'd manage to stuff up less than he!
4. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones has to jump into an underground room filled with the one thing that freaks him out: snakes. “Why did it have to be snakes?” he asks. If the movie were about you, what would you see in the underground room?
People throwing up, at which point I would freak the fuck out and try to get the Hell out of there as fast as I could. Screw the Lost Ark or whatever! (I would probably try to face it if someone's life was on the line).
5. In Sideways, the main character is asked to explain his love for wine made from a certain grape. As he describes the grape, we realizes he is also describing himself, saying that it must be carefully tended and that it is easily damaged. If the film were about you, what passion (hobby, food, collectible, or activity, for example) would you describe and how would you describe it so that you were also describing yourself? *
Man, that sounds way too philosophical for me...I guess...writing is the hobby, but how to describe it and me at the same time. "Sometimes the words come out a little wrong, but the intent is good." I guess.
The (Other) Friday Five
Memories
1. Smells, and memories. Do you have a scent that when you smell it, brings up a memory? Do share.
Not that I can think of...actually I'm not very good with smells, I always think sausages are cooking when it is in fact something totally different.
2. Songs. Is there a particular song that brings back happy memories? Song title and memory, if you care to share that much.
Don't really have songs that do that either, except perhaps for the ones on The Simpsons Sing The Blues our first CD purchase back in 1993 or whenever it was. Reminds me of holidaying in Noosa.
3. How about a song that brings up painful memories? Song title and memory, if you care to share that much.
None fortunately.
4. Food. Is there a certain food that conjures up memories?
Hmm, tuna always reminds me of the time my brothers and I had a Mexican Standoff of sorts with my mother over eating Tuna Casserole. Evenutally we won out and thank God for that!
5. Clothing? Do you have an item of clothing or if you see a certain item, does it make you think of a time/place or person?
Albert the Tuxedo dress! I'll always remember my 21st birthday :O) Also, my Graduation jersey from School for obvious reasons.
Saturday 9
:Working in the Coalmines:
1. What is your job and do you like it?
I am an Admininstrator and I do like it, although sometimes I think it doesn't like me! I swear I fucked up so bad on Friday...
2. What to you do to unwind after work?
Nothing much really, I'm rather relaxed at work, which is probably the problem!
3. Who have you known the longest of your friends?
Toss up between Edith, Micki and Zep I'd say.
4. Who do you go to for advice?
Mummy!
5. Not counting your current relationship, how many times have you been in love?
N/A.
6. What is you favorite snack food?
Cheeese! Specifically Mainland Tasty Cheddar.
7. What is the best meal you ate this week?
Ummm...I guess the spaghetti bolognase I had on Thursday and Friday for lunch at work.
8. What to you is the most important factor in romantic attraction?
Being friends I guess, never really thought about it.
9. What do you think is your worst habit?
Procrastina- distraction...definately that! :O(
Saturday Special
~~Creative Adventure XVI ~ Fill In The Blanks~
1. While on a Caribbean cruise, I take the elevator to get to my room. Accidently pressing the wrong button, the elevator door closes and then opens and I find myself in the engine room and also wondering, how many Cruiseships have elevators?
2. Being the curious type, I leave the elevator and start to walk down the hallway and soon come to a large door market "Do Not Enter", I decide to anyway and discover a secret pool! So this is what the engineers get up to, huh? I prepare to investigate futher, but then the pool begins to boil! The water bubbles and steams...
3. Now worried, I turn around to go back to the elevator when I suddenly see the Captain! I quickly duck behind a pillar or something like that so I'm not seen.
4. A little relieved and laughing to myself I realize that I better get my ass back to my room...before I really get in trouble.
Saturday Six
1. Do you prefer a hotter climate or a colder climate?
Hotter, definately, I think it's much easier to cool down, than to warm up, especially the fingers, I need my fingers I can't afford to have them in gloves or to hold them in front of a heater for ages.
Right, after a lot of thought and checking (for some reason Image Shack won't let me re-upload the missing photos even though I can't see why they would breech the terms of service or anything like that), so I've decided to get myself a picoodle account so I can alternate my uploadage.
On the plus side only a few pics were missing at <lj site="livejournal.com" user="mooseys_sims">, if anyone wants a trip down memory lane (I'm the slowest Sims updater in the world, LOL!)
<lj-cut text="Anywho, Fun with Memes">Four For Friday

1. Do you like to celebrate your birthday, or is it just another day?
I love to celebrate my birthday! Presents! Friends! Cake! I don't get people who don't celebrate their birthday's to be honest. Seriously people, have fun with it!
2. What are five things you would like to get for your next birthday?
I dunno...never really thought about it...surprise me! ;O)
3. It is your birthday and money and reality have no bearing! What is your IDEAL day?
Woohoo! We're all on our way to New York City! They'll be sight seeing and shopping and all sorts of fun. And on the way home we can swing by the BTTF filming sites for fun! :OD
Also my favourit cake from Michel's please.

Wow...I dunno...I guess the ice skating birthday I had when I was 14 (at least I think that was the birthday). That was great fun!
5. Are you doing anything special for your next birthday?
It's still months and months away, so nope, not at present.
Friday5
