anonymoose_au: (This Calls For A Sexy Party!)
[personal profile] anonymoose_au
9:48am: This morning my parents had to get up at an insanely early hour to go down to Balmoral Beach to welcom the World Youth Day Cross to the northern suburbs. Apparently there was a good turn out, though not much youth in the 18-25 bracket (they're all asleep!). Anywho, afterwards, they went to Maccas and Dad decided to bring me home some. Now I haven't had Maccas for ages, like probably more than a year ever since they changed the cheese.

Alas this was breakfast and I always love me an egg and bacon muffin and the hotcakes, so I ate them...yummy, but fortunately I'm not suddenly craving Quarter Pounders, which is good because apart from anything else buying fast food adds up and I'm trying to keep a budget and stuff.

I hope I don't get major indigestion from the food though.

In other news I'm trying to figure out if I should go home having set my VCR to the wrong time (I forgot about Daylight Savings ending) and W Channel is showing Cold Case from the beginning.

Having said that, though, it seems kind of dumb to drive home just so tomorrow I can turn around and come back here for work tomorrow, especially with petrol prices being what they are. On the other hand, I really need to buy some new shoes and I've exhausted the shoe possibilities this side of the Bridge, so going back home would make it easier to get to the city....

Decisions...decisions...

I didn't manage to get to that Open Inspection after all, because I suck at that sort of thing. After that I dropped off my stuff at my parents house and then Mum and I went to Chatswood to get some clothes taken up. As it turned out, my new jeans didn't need taking up after all (I told her so!), but I'm getting a pair of Garfield pj pants re-elasticised.

I also went to the Phantom Zone because I have a gift certificate, but nothing really popped out at me.

After that I went to the Beauty Therapist to get my eyebrows and lip waxed, Mum tried to convience me to get my arms waxed, but forget that! Fight the patriarchy I says!

And then after that there was Church, where there was a bit of a schmoozle with the music especially after I didn't put the strap on Dad's guitar properly and he ended up dropping it. Whoops! :Oo

And then I got ready for Micki and Kelly's party, unfortunately they decided to scrap the theme so I looked rather old fashioned even when I put on another dress rather than the more 20s style red one. I did like wearing my watch in a necklace, even though I kept checking said watch like an old lady LOL!

Anyway it was a fun party, although aside from Micki and Kelly the only person I really new well was Zep, but there was quite a few other cool people to talk to, including a group of firemen. Never met a real fireman, interesting stuff.

Onlyp problem...I'm not used to heels, especially not high ones so half way through the night the dang things were killing me! I ended up having to take them off for a while.

Heh, the funniest part of the evening, was when Zep and I attempted to play a bit of pool or snooker or whatever its called. The 8 ball was all ready gone so the game was over, but hey it's four bucks a game so bring it on.

But yeah co-ordination isn't my strong point and since I swapped writing hands I never know which one to use, so I just kept swapping, LOL! And oh dear, I managed to actually hit some poor dude's fingers because he had his hand resting on the table and I didn't notice him there.

Took us a good fifteen minutes to sink the last four balls, champions Zep and I ain't.

By midnight though, I was pretty tired, so Zep and I decided to head home, unfortunately, the garage where I parked my car had gone and closed! I wasn't looking forward to walking home with my feet aching and the chilliness of the night.

So I decided to hitch at taxi ride with Zep, unfortunately the taxi driver wanted to take the toll way so I only got half way home, which is better than nothing I guess, but seriously my feet were about to explode!

And that was my day!

Anywho, in the spirit of my latest fanfic writing, here's a survey I found on [livejournal.com profile] kawaiispinel's LJ.

1. How about a brief introduction?

Hey, I'm Moose and I'm an alchoholic (yeah that's getting old...) and I'm a writer. I've always made up stories, but it wasn't until I was 8 that I started writing them down. At which point I never actually finished any of them....so there's heaps of unfinished work floating around. But I have managed to finish a few tales in the past few years...although they've all got one thing in common...they're damn long!

2. What got you into fan fiction (and/or adopting muses)?

See above. The stories I made up in my head often had characters or worlds from my favourite TV shows and movies. For some reason, which I really can't recall, my longest running story was about some bears, like the Care Bears or the Gummi Bears or something, honestly, what the Hell, I'm weird!

3. What kind of fan fiction do you write?

Well, mostly just...stuff...what people get up to, epic stories that go over generations, friendship stories stuff like that. Oh and loooong ones! My current one is over 111,000 words!

4. Do you write for the same pairings/characters?

Well, yeah, duh...that's the point of writing fanfic! You get to write for the characters you like! In general I write for the sort of second string main characters, the ones who have a moderately important part in the story, but they're not the focal point. There's a lot more background and stuff you can put in it.

5. What is your most popular fic and why do you think people like it so?

Hmmm...based on reviews on FF.net that would be my Robotech story Choices and Aces, which has 31 chapters right now and 39 reviews none of which are flames! Although there was one that just asked where the next chapter was - I'll take that to mean they enjoy it though.

As for why people like it...well, it's an alternate universe where one of the main characters who died didn't die after all and what changes that wrought on the series story. People have mentioned they really like the pacing and descriptions and general interplay between the characters. I feel special! I have public!

6. Forget other people, what is the fan fic you've written that you're most proud of?

Well, there's a lot of stories I've written that remain unpublished and it's kind of hard to pick, although I have to say there are some fanfics I've written that I've looked back at later and gone "What the Hell is that?!" There's others I've looked back on gone "Hey that's good!" And the one that stands out is...

30 Years is a Long Time To Wait

The tale of how Doc spent those 30 long years until sending Marty to the past. I really enjoy writing for Doc and sending him to all sorts of places as he comes up with the theories he needs to put together the time machine and in the background there's the McFly family and his interactions with them. So yeah...I like it...I don't know if anyone else does because I haven't published it up on FF.net yet. Although I did show use one section in a [livejournal.com profile] backtothefanfic challenge, so yeah you tell me :OP

7. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What aspects do you struggle with?

I find it easy, since I write when the inspiration strikes and I've all ready got what's going to happen, or at least a general idea of it in my head. So it's all going through my head as a write it, especially when I'm on the computer since I can type as fast as I think. That's probably why my handwriting's so messy when I actually write longhand.

As for aspects I struggle with...I dunno...I guess how to end the story, because I never know how to do it! Which is probably why so many of my stories go on for practically forever, LOL!

8. Are there any fan fiction trends/clichés you hate?

The whole "These two people care deeply about one another they must be having the sex!" Espeically if they're related, I mean come on! How often does that even happen? Can't people care about each other platonically? Annoys me greatly I tells ya.

9. Are you guilty of any of the trends you hate?

Hmmm...let me think...I've probably been guilty of making two friends into a pairing because they work so well together, but you know for more reasons than just "You can't care that much for someone you're not sexing up."

10. Name your OTPs and explain what it is about them you love to write.

Let's see:

George McFly and Lorraine Baines

The quinssential OTP! If they don't get together the whole universe could be destroyed in a paradox! And in the Lone Pine Universe it's really intriguing to speculate how they get along since they're so different in personality, but in that particularly reality they get on well together instead of isolating each other and it's interesting to write about how that came about.

Roy Fokker and Claudia Grant

The focus of my Robotech story - this is a great couple. I don't really know why, I have to say Claudia was originally my favourite character in the series primarily because she wore a green uniform, LOL. I was like 8 at the time, so give us a break! Anywho, Roy and Claudia go great together and have chemistry and all that jazz. Fun to write!

Percy Weasley and Penelope Clearwater

Apparently, this relationship is no longer canon, but I won't accept this! Those two are great! I love how stiff, rule-loving Percy is willing to bend a few to be with Penny and the idea of Ginny catching him and Penny making out is pretty damn hilarious! It's also intriguing to think of how Percy and Penny ended up together, unfortunately the tale I wrote about that was one of those "What the Hell was I thinking?!" stories when I looked back on it.

Well, it's getting close to leaving time - the World Youth Day cross is passing our Church and I've decided to go with Mum and Dad to see it, I also have to get my car from the garage at Coles and then decided if I'm staying or going...

Ta ta for now!

Code breakage!

And I hear you about heels. I wore heeled boots for my Agatha Heterodyne costume, and while I loved the way they looked, they KILLED my feet. My legs were just one big cramp after wearing them all day.
