11:16pm: So here I am, back at the Parentals, after managing to get to church, a little late, but I didn't miss any of the readings or anything like that, so it's all good.

However, I'm tossing up on whether to just sleep on the couch up here as is, or move stuff around to make enough room to fold it out. I'm still leery of this couch because I'm pretty sure it contributed to me throwing my back out a few years ago, which was by far the most excruciating experience I can recall.

Five on Friday

Reflections on 2007

1. List five happy memories of 2007.

Getting the Getz
The school reunion
Mum and Dad returning from their overseas trip!
NaNoWriMo
Getting a job.

2. Describe four things you've learned this year.

If something scary to do, do it anyway.
Always backup
I can mange without my parents
It's hard to beat M at Canasta more than once

3. Which three relationships in your life have changed the most this year?

With my parents I guess?
And that's all I can think of really...

4. Name two new places you went this year.

To work (Yeah, it's a bit of a cheat)
To my friend's new house

5. What one thing you've done this year are you most proud of?

Kept my job!

FOUR FOR FRIDAY

- THE YEAR-END EDITION -

>Q1 - Bump That Chest: Looking back on the year that was 2007, what are you most proud of?

See above.

Q2 - Moving On : Which famous person's death in 2007 impacted you the most? (Need some help? Here's a short list of some of the famous people--and one horse--who died this year: Kurt Vonnegut, Barbaro, Anna Nicole Smith, Lamar Lundy, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Boris Yeltsin, Art Buchwald, Rev. Jerry Falwell, Robert Goulet, Beverly Sills, Lady Bird Johnson, Tammy Faye (Bakker) Messner, Tom Snyder, Bill Walsh, Luciano Pavoratti, Jane Wyman, Joey Bishop, Mr. Whipple, Brad Delp, Richard Jeni, Bowie Kuhn, James Faust, Eddie Robinson, Don Ho, Liz Clairborne, Joel Siegel, Ingmar Bergman, Merv Griffin, Norman Mailer, Leona Helmsley, Sean Taylor, Evil Knievel, Ike Turner, Marcel Marceau, and Benazir Bhutto.)

For some reason Benazir Bhutto's death really shocked me...I don't know why, but it just seemed really sad, especially with the election coming up in Palestine. The whole democratic process looks like it's gone right off the rails over there now.

Q3 - Bring It!: Looking ahead--toward the year that is still to be (2008)--what are you most looking forward to?

Now, that's a problem, I don't really have anything concrete to look forward too, I have no idea where I'm going...I guess continuing to do well with my job and paying off the appartment might qualify.

Q4 - Now That's What I'm Talkin' Bout: What was your favorite Holiday / Christmas gift (from either this year or of all time)?

Of all time, definitely the full-sized trampoline my father got for me when I was 8, I loved that trampoline more than anything! And without it, I probably wouldn't have got any excercise at all in my formative years...fat lot of good it did my knees though.

Friday Fiver

I'll Always Be True

1. Tell us something you love:

Writing!

2. Tell us something you know to be true:

I'm thirsty...

3. Tell us about someone new in your life:

My co-workers, and they're cool.

4. Who can you never please?

Hmmm...I can't really think of anyone...except maybe the Big Bro, but I don't see him very much so I can't really be sure on that one.

5. Friday fill-in:
You know I
want to be a published author some day.

Friday Fun

The New Year's Edition

Our last Friday Fun of 2007!

1. Resolutions: Do you keep them or are they an exercise in futility?

Don't bother making them, which I guess puts me in the latter catergory.

2. New Year’s Eve: Stay at home or go out and dance the night away? Any special traditions?

Well, I don't have any concrete plans this year due to lack of money, but I definitely have to go out and see the midnight fireworks, they're the best part!

3. Let’s not call it a resolution, but what are 5 things (of any importance) you would like to accomplish in the upcoming year?

1. Do better at work
2. Clean up my apartment (I think I've been saying this for a good 8 months now)
3. Finish the first 'book' of my George III story
4. Keep the car clean
5. Get a new laptop
