12:24am: Well, I didn't get rid of all the contractions, but quite a few of them and a few changes in sentence structure here and there and added one extra sentence and look:

23,226 / 50,000 (46.5%)

Is that even fair? You're probably not supposed to go back at change stuff...oops. Of course now I'm back down to 7th place, well, considering I haven't written anything new LOL!

Ah geeze, it's late again, and I'm tired to the bone, so I'm gonna turn in, do give me your advice though about the contractions, should I go with what is the natural flow so to speak of the 21st century (not that anyone's calling anyone else 'dude' or something), or should I do the historical accurate thang.

Well, I've noticed that in historical novel(for teenagers, anyway)contractions are used.
