9:21pm: I was reading some of the George III books I've got and I noticed that in the 18th century they don't use contractions! Everything is 'we are not here' and 'I do not know that' etc. etc. So I'm in a bit of quandry, it appears that these people don't write them even in casual writing, so...do I write my story with that in mind, or do I just stick the contractions in? I've changed a few, but it all looks so sitled now. Beyond that would people really not use contractions when speaking? If so that must have been a pain in the ass.On the other hand it will sure up the word count, LOL! What say you?
Anywho, as I mentioned last night, I accidentally close my Firefox window and lost all my memes so...
Five on Friday
Make a Wish
1. When is your birthday?
10th January
2. When you blow out the candles on your cake, do you make a wish? Have any of them come true?
Nope, although I used to tell others that if the knife came out dirty you had to kiss the nearest person to you, until they tried to do it to me!
3. How do you feel about birthdays and birthday celebrations?
Love 'em! Presents rock! It's a chance to spend time with friends...ah good times. Although as a person who's bad at remembering birthdays and I suck at getting presents, so I really shouldn't expect to get them.
4. What has been your favorite birthday gift? What kind of gifts really blow you away?
Gee...I'm not sure, the personalised plates for my car sure was funky! But...hmmm...I've really loved all my presents, except the clothes...bah clothes! I really like to get DVD sets now a days.
5. What flavor cake do you prefer?
Michel's Patesserie's chocolate sponge, oh man, just thinking of that icing...mmm yeah!
FOUR FOR FRIDAY
Q1 - Iraq: On Monday, British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he opposed the death penalty for former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein but that his trial had reminded the world of the deposed leader's brutality. Even if Hussein loses his appeal and dies on the gallows, it probably will have little effect on the future of Iraq, experts say. What do you think...should Saddam Hussein's death penalty be carried out, and if so, what kind of impact do you think it will have in the U.S. action in Iraq?
Well, I'm glad to hear that! I thought I heard he'd done the opposite, which pissed me off, since Great Britian is against the death penalty as well. Our Prime Minister is too spineless to do that shit. Anywho, I believe that Saddam's death probably won't do any good and might in fact fuck up things more. Although I don't want him to be executed for no other reason then I don't want to be party to that kind of thing.
Q2 - College: If you went to college, did you learn more from the social or academic aspects of the experience? If you didn't go to college, do you wish you had?
Probably academics, because I was rather a hermit so I didn't do much socially, especially since I don't like loud music or drinking. Although the W.O.R.D.S Societ was certainly fun!
Q3 - Life and Religion: A friend's teenage son recently said that one of the problems he has with fundamental religion is that it teaches that we are all bad and that we are only going to be rewarded if we make all the right choices and do all the right things. He then said, "Life isn't the test; it's a time for learning." Your thoughts?
Well, I'm not sure if the idea is that we're all bad, only that we can become bad if we don't make the right choices and do the right thing. Also, it could be argue there's always some personal reason a person does good for someone else, so expecting a reward for it isn't too much I suppose. And since most fundamental religions believe in an afterlife of some sort, life on earth really is a test and the rewards will be reaped up in Heaven or where ever. The main problem I have with fundamental religion is the idea of some of that that only the followers of that particular religion will go to heaven, that sucks. Good people are good people and deserve to get a reward and if that's not to exist after death, well there you go. :O)
Q4 - Whodunit: If you could solve any unsolved crime in history (or prove with certainty that a particular crime was incorrectly solved, and resolve it), which one would you choose?
Man, I'm not sure, I'd like to know who Jack the Ripper was...but I'd also like to know who was behind the Jon Benet Ramsey death...there's so much conflicting evidence in that case...plus whoever is involved is probably still alive, so justice can be done.
Friday Fiver

3. When you're in lust:
LOL! I have no idea!
4. Exercising:
Eh, whatever you've got.

My Sharona, Black Betty those sorts of songs with a driving beat, even though I don't actually drive much over the speed limit if at all.
Friday Fun
Friday Freedom
1. What does Veteran’s Day mean to you?
A day to honour those who fought in wars that may not always have been right, but they had their hearts in the right place and they died, which is awful.
2. Do you have a friend or family member that is a veteran?
Well technically my Grandpa is, he didn't see much action though...my grandad (dad's father) was actually in New Guinea druing World War II and some of his friend's were killed...sadly this messed him a lot.
3. What does freedom mean to you?
Been able to think and do what you want within reason (you know, it doesn't hurt people).
4. For my non-US friends, does your country have a day to honor veterans? If so, how is it celebrated?
Aside from November 11th, we have 25th April dedicated to Australian and New Zealand vetrans, we usually have a parade of them and then most people go to have dinner at the local RSL club. :O)
Friday5
Judgement!
1. When was the last time you did something against your better judgment, and what was the outcome?
Umm...I'm not sure, I usually don't do things against my better judgement, or I don't know what I feel so I can't really tell...
2. Who in your life seems to be a keen judge of character?
I dunno...not me!
3. If there is such a thing as Judgment Day, what do you think it will be like?
Well, if the Bible's any indication it sounds like it will suck... I imagine things would go to shit though.
4. What were the circumstances that led you to the last time you stood before a judge?
Ah, yikes, do you really suspect that many people will have stood before a judge?! I've never even been near a courthouse in my whole life.
5. If a panel of judges were to evaluate your last potluck contribution, what might their comments be?
I'm not sure what that means...you mean what I gave to some sort of office suite or something like that...in which case they'd probably say "You suck!" 'cause I haven't done tha!
The (Other) Friday Five
1) If you had to move 100 miles or more to the north, east, west, or south, which would you choose, where would you end up, and what's so great about there?
Gee, they're all pretty crappy choices...I suppose 100 miles west because that would be the Blue Mts and they sure have a heap of second hand bookshops and what not, plus it doesn't take that long to get to Sydney.
2) Do you have a favorite stretch of highway or byway for driving, touring, or wandering?
I don't like highways actually, I was just mentioning this to my mother this morning because I'm always worried that I might have to stop or something and you can't really do that on highways...So I'd perfer not to go there.
3) Are you happier to start a trip or return home?
Start a trip!
4) Plane, train, automobile, bicycle, or foot?
Probably airplane, I've been a bit worried that I might get airsick but I seem to be Ok on it, so phew! Plus I love to visit far away places.
5) Do you overplan or underplan your travels? (Assume that "no" is not a valid answer.)
Hmm...well, I've only really taken holidays with my parents, and my mother is a mega planner, I don't know how I'd do on my own, probably super badly!
That's all I have to say for now, now that it's like an hour after I started this. I've also screwed up with taping Smallville, I seem to have misplace my tape, god damnit, that's so annoying... I hope that I can find the tape to tape the repeat on at 3am or whenever. I brought four tapes at the beginning of this week and I've somehow used them all all ready! What's the deal with that?
Anywho, no word count yet...I'll probably be back with it.
