Damn Me...

10:46pm: The good news: My hand recovered from last night's incident with no lasting marks or injuries. Phew!
The bad news: I've been pissed off all day trying to get a hold of a painting of GIII and his siblings that I know I've seen before, but I can't find any info on it! And I'm pretty sure the book I saw it in is available at only one library I know of and it's like an hour's drive from the apartment. Pain in the ass, I don't want to go all that way... but what can you do? Although, now I think of it I'm quite sure a copy of it is on my old computer's hardrive at home because I swear I scanned all interesting pictures in that book (an accidentally ripped it in the process...), but I don't know if Dad managed to recover the info from the drive. Hmmm...And I won't be able to find out until tomorrow afternoon because Dad will be at work. Damn.
The only thing I need to know about this picture (I've got a clear view of it in my minds eye) is the date it was painted because I'm writing a story about George III (yeah, I know...lame!) and it's a rather intriguing painting and I'd like to write about it. Heh.
Oh shit! I've just got a drink of water from the fridge and I think the milk is off...and I haven't even opened it, geeze what a waste, I suck.
::Saturday-8::
Love Is A Many Splendid Something or Other...
1. Are you currently in love?
Nah.
2. Do you have a "one that got away?" Tell us about him/her. If not, describe your last awesome partner.
N/A, the closest I've ever got to a "date" is when a boy from Art class asked me to see a movie and I said no. He never came to Art Class again, bummer, 'cause I did like him as a friend.
3. Recently, a Florida couple got stranded on their first date (read about it here). Although it's not terribly romantic, it's sweet that they've decided that even after being stranded for 6 hours they're willing to go on a second date! What's your favourite romantic story? (This can be a movie, book, poem, story of long-lost love from a friend or relative, etc.) Tell us about it.
George and Lorraine from Back to the Future! Come on! Not only are they a great couple, they had to be united by their own son from the future! LOL, can't get any wackier than that! And it's a so romantic (and yeah rather corny) that George decked Biff coming to Lorraine's resuce! A true Hero! :OD
4. What's the hardest thing you've had to deal with in a relationship?
N/A. A familial relationships ummm...communication maybe? Because I suck at communication.
5. When it comes to lovers, are you the 'jealous type'?
N/A although when I'm writing a story and imagine my character getting cheated on I get pretty pissed on their behalf. LOL!
6. Do you believe in 'love at first sight,' or do you think it's a chemical/biological lustful response?
Eh, I believe in "Interest at first sight" I don't think a person can truly decide they're going to spend the rest of their lives or even have a relationship with someone just looking at them, but I think they can have a strong feeling and want to get to know the other person.
7. Do you believe that a person has a 'one true love,' the person that he/she was destined to be with forever?
It sounds very romantic, but it doesn't really make sense because what if the one person you're destined to be with is on the other side of the world? Or died young? Or was born in Africa or something? How could you ever meet them? I think there's many someones, since you know you couldn't get into a relationship with just anyone (there's people you'll like and people you won't like.)
8. Love gone wrong - what's the worst romantic 'horror story' you've ever heard, maybe from your friends or family, or something that's happened to you?
Ummm...I've got no idea...although a great-Aunt of mine had her husband leave her after like 30 years of marriage because her husband (Grandpa's brother) is gay and now his children were grown up he didn't want to live a lie anymore. Which, you know I can respect, but my great-Aunt was very upset and it must have been terrible for her.
The Saturday Six
1. How many different time zones have you lived in? Which one would you most like to live in?
Umm...Well GMT +10 (Australia) and GMT in England, and Pacific Time for like a day and US Eastern Time and Hong Kong Time (whatever that is). As for which one I'd want to live in...well I've always wanted to live in New York, so that's US Eastern Time.
2. What is the current setting of your home's thermostat? Do you adjust it up or down based on the time of day, or leave it at one setting at all times?
Don't have a thermstat, it doesn't really get cold in here, so I don't put on the air conditioner until Summer and then I usually set it on de-humidifier and 22 Degrees C which I read is the perfect temperature.
3. Go to your bedroom closet (or the closet in which you keep the majority of your clothes. Take a quick glance: what color do you see the most of? Is this color your favorite color? If not, why do you have more of it than your favorite color?
Awww, now I've got to get up...
Hmmm, green, which is good because green is my favourite colour. :O) Good stuff!
4. Take the quiz: What kind of house are you?

Well that's convenient because I'm living in one right now, all though it has to be said that I could use more shelving units here...
5. Imagine your dream house: how many stories would your ultimate home have?
Eh, probably two, because I'm quite fond of two storey homes for some reason I like living upstairs :O).
6. Ripped from the Headlines: An underage teenager decides he does not want to undergo a particularly rough regimen of chemotherapy to treat his cancer. With his parents' blessing, he decides to pursue an alternate treatment to be supervised by a clinic that is outside of the country. Should a court intervene and force the teen to undergo the "traditional" treatment? How much does the prognosis for successful treatment with the chemotherapy affect your judgment?
What? No. Why would I want to force the kid (especially a kid with his parents' permission) to undergo a treatment he doesn't wish to undergo? I have no right to do that or pass judgement. And you never know, the alternative treatment could be successful, I once heard of a young boy who got rid of brain tumours through a process of visualisation. You can't force people to live anyway...although if the prognosis for chemotherapy was like 95% and I was a family friend and my opinion was asked I'd probably advise the kid to at least think about it. Also, they should make sure the clinic in question is on the up and up.
Unconcious Mutterings
I say ... and you think ... ?
1. Affair :: Hurt feelings, pain, suffering. :O(
2. Package :: My George III book...where the Heck is it anyway? I hope it's not lost!
3. Warner :: Brothers :O) And the cartoon that was a fun one.
4. Drop :: Falling down.
5. Balance :: Those scale things, you know the Libra symbol.
6. Shore :: North Shore, where the parentals live. :O)
7. Confirmation :: Religious ceremony, I had mine when I was 11 and got my second middle name "Bernadette" after St. Bernadette of France. I actually picked her because my first best friend was supposed to pick the same name to (yeah I know, that's not too religious), but she didn't in the end. Ah well, St. Bernadette is extremely interesting.
8. Nose :: My nose. It's a rather small nose.
9. Talking :: Two people chatting together.
10. Bend :: in the road.
Well...that's all I got at the mo, I'll have to decide what to do about that painting tomorrow.
Ah, obsessions aren't they grand. :OP
