Hanging Out With The Grandparents
Feb. 4th, 2010 10:44 pm10:26pm: I was of course supposed to come over here tomorrow on the 9:13pm bus, but there was some unpleasantness yesterday and I was feeling most distressed over it, so I came on over today instead.
Alas, M beat me soundly at Canasta, even though I managed to go out before her twice! Most unfortunate! But maybe we'll have a chance at another game tomorrow, or we could play Chinese Checkers.
I've kind of left my RP characters hanging because I can't get on the net here through my laptop so I have to use Grandpa's computer instead and he's only just finished with it. I suppose everyone goes on a break at some time or another.
In another news, I'm still considering my options after last night's unpleasantness, I haven't heard back from either of my interviews yet and I've got a bad feeling I'm still going to be jobless, which is such bullshit. I totally can't move out if I don't have a job, so this is most lame. :O( My grandparents recommend I be nice to my parents and do everything they say, but seriously I can't be the only person who finds that next to impossible when they're being jerkasses can I? Most annoying.
Anyway, the memes:
Thursday Thunks
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Kimber, the color of doom, and the number 999.
1. You walk into a room, someone turns and looks at you and laughs. What do you do?
Probably get really uncomfortable and leave, because I'm paranoid like that.
2. You find an egg, take it home and keep it warm. It hatches. What type of dinosaur is it? Do you keep it and name?
Wow cool! I'd say a triceratops, because they're herbivores and cool looking. I'd probably take it to the zoo though, because it'll grow way too big for me to keep. I'd name it Spikey though, LOL!
3. Which superhero would you want to be related to and why?
Tough one...I'd kind of like to be related to Spider-Man because he's my favourite...but Mr. Incredible sounds like a good option to.
4. A drunken sailor comes up to you on the pier...he begins harassing you in a most repulsive way....what'll be your defense?
Push the bastard of it and I'll make sure to throw a life ring in after him, so don't worry.
5. Entering a CLASS A piano bar, you're encouraged to sing atop the grand instrument...you grab the microphone and sing.....
Nothing because my singing voice is hideous and it'd be unfair to inflict it upon the people, especially in such a classy joint.
6. If you were a character in a Dr. Seuss book/movie, who would you be and why?
The Moose with Mousse, because it's delicious!
7. If you have just been called to be a substitute in the Winter Olympics for your country (apparently everyone else was busy), what sport(s) will you compete in?
Oh man...well I might be able to manage curling...but everything else? No way...
8. Did the audience from the piano bar in question #5 applaud when you were done with your song?
If I dared to sing one? Hell no!
Booking Through Thursday
Winter Reading
The northern hemisphere, at least, is socked in by winter right now… So, on a cold, wintry day, when you want nothing more than to curl up with a good book on the couch … what kind of reading do you want to do?
Thank you for acknowledging that, and so I'll answer! At the moment I think it'd be an Agatha Christie book, because they're fun to read, particularly curled up on the couch or bed.
Anywho, I best be off, M and I are going swimming tomorrow morning and she'll be getting me up around 9am, so I best get my zzzs.
Goodnight to you all!
