My Eyes are Burning...
Dec. 10th, 2006 04:06 pm3:50pm: Last night after downloading this virus program recommended to me by Dad, only to have my laptop give me the "Blue Screen of Death"! The horror! The HORROR! And wouldn't you know it, I was back at the apartment, so Dad couldn't help me out. And restarting didn't work, trying to load Windows by using Safe Mode didn't work...nothing worked! I was totally freaking out when I located the Windows XP disc here in the apartment. This was one Hell of a find actually, I'm not even sure why it is here.
Unfortunately, whatever went down screwed up the Windows installation so bad it couldn't be repaired or nothing, so I reformatted the drive (thank God I've put all the most important stuff on the D and E drives) and installed. However, things were weird...like the graphics and Microsoft Office had disappeared, and I couldn't get on the net. I found a disc that had Utilities for the laptop, so I put that in, but I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.
Fortunately when I called up my Internet service provider to get my internet password (which as it turns out I didn't need), the nice guy on the other end helped me out with the Utilities disc and I got myself online! Although only through a physical cable...the wireless program thingo seems to be have disappeared. (I've sent an email to the big bro to see if he can help me out there) However, even after downloading the sound driver and graphic things, the screen was still weird. Nothing seemed to fix it, which made for sore eyes...I swear they're burning! I was getting pretty desperate I didn't understand what the problem was, or how to fix it...well at least not until I sent the email off to the bro, then I checked the Help file and figured it out.
Apparently there's this setting called "Clear Type" which the laptop was set on by default, balant false advertising! It made the fonts on the comp all blood and really sharp, that's not cool. I should probably be walking around outside giving them a rest rather than typing this entry. I mean, owww!
Well, whatever, I'm very relieved I managed to figure this all out myself, go me! And now I leave you with this quizzie I got from

Well, hey, how polite. But I'm Almost Perfect, you know I am. ;O)
Right off I go!
