Boxing Day Wind-Down

anonymoose_au10:39pm: Yes indeed! It was a mostly lazy day for me today, at least until late afternoon when Mum asked if I could drive some stuff up to Grandpa - unfortunately, he's back in the hospital. He's been at this rehab facility previously, in the hope of getting his hip operated on since he has really bad arthritis which flared up when he twisted it a month or so back. He was supposed to get the operation done at the beginning of December, but his blood tests came back with weird results so it had to be postponed. Alas, they can't figure out the reason for said weird results, although his heart is fine, which is good news. But yeah, he keeps going back to the rehab place then going back to the hospital (I guess the latter has more resources), which has made him quite grumpy.
But yes he suddenly ended up back there yesterday and won't be able to be moved until at least Monday - and all his stuff was back at the rehab place. So my Uncle Sam picked it up and then I went and got it from his house and headed up to the hospital, as I said he was a bit grumpy - mostly because the staff keep trying to get him to do stuff way too fast (I'd have thought they would have done the opposite!) and of course he has to keep having blood tests and also he's developing bed sores. O.o Not the best news... At least he has his Christmas cake, glacie fruit and dark chocolate now.
I forgot to mention that I received a Christmas card from the Big Bro in Japan - I love Japanese Christmas cards, they're always so cute! This one had a group of Santas enjoying a meal and watching a marathon on TV (not sure of the significance of the marathon, LOL). I also got a few more cards from my fellow Golden Skate Forum people. I hope my cards got there...
Anyway, after saying I had to make sure I got to bed at a reasonable hour last entry, I stayed up super-duper late, we're taking 2am! I have no idea why I did that. Tsks at self.
But, I was able to sleep in today which will not be the case tomorrow, so I really do have to move my butt even though there's Friday Fives to catch up on. I guess I'll have to get onto that tomorrow.
I also got some Sims playing in today, hooray! I totally forgot they had that Christmas event going on, you're supposed to log in each day to get something, I wonder if I'll still be able to get them all. Ah well, I guess that's how they get ya. ;O)
On that note, I gotta go.
