10:57pm: And it's pretty bad! And here I was thinking yesterday that the weather people had been incorrect, since they had said there would be rain all the way from Thursday to next Tuesday and yesterday it was surprisingly clear. But then the rain began last night, at points it was hammering down on the roof. And to add to that is the wind, it's been blowing a gale out there! This does not bode well for tomorrow morning and my ice skating plans. My car is quite small and there has been times when I've been driving it in and the wind has blown very strongly and I've felt like it was going to push me off the road! I really don't wanna drive for 20kms in weather like that!

But I missed out on ice skating last week! And I bought new tights to wear and everything...so fingers crossed it'll be a bit calmer tomorrow, but I dunno, apparently there's meant to be a big storm, I didn't watch the news, but I just checked the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) and apparently the winds will go right down to go away late morning. Fingers crossed.

As it happened this morning the crappy weather wasn't enough to keep people away from the shopping centre in Mona Vale. In fact the reverse happened, the place was utterly crowded to the extent there was no parking spots to be found. Not out on the street (although you're not supposed to park there for more than an hour before 12:30 on Saturday anyway), not on the upper levels of the shopping centre and certainly not in the underground car park. And I was already running late! It was terrible! I had to call the Library and fortunately one of my co-workers answered so they at least knew I was on my way. In the end I had to park on a street quite a way from the library and ended up with soggy boots walking to the library. And...of course I ended up seeing a spot in the bloody underground car park as I walked through it. It was too late by then though! I did at least get a ride back to my car after work with one of my co-workers, although the rain wasn't too bad at that time.

But like I said, it's set in now and the internet has just decided to conk out, pain n the ass! Lucky for me I have my phone and I can use it's data, but it still sucks.

What doesn't suck is...Project Purple Shirt is completed! The button holes proved to be a challenge, but I conquered them! I put the shirt on for a bit, jury is still out on the shortness. Perhaps if I don't lift my arms abovemy head I'll be OK? Although sometimes at the library I do have to reach up high, but then like I said maybe I can just put an undershirt on.

Now, I'm sure you're all excited so...drumroll please!

Here it is!

Pretty nice if I do say so myself...Though I'm not sure if I should wear it tomorrow or my new grin striped one...the purple one has some dressmaker's marker on it, although apparently that's supposed to just come off with a damp cloth.

Right, time has passed quite quickly, so I better do the Memes and head off!

:Ode to Billie Joe (1967):

1) This song takes places on "the third of June," which is described as "another sleepy, dusty" day. Describe the weather where you were on Friday, June 3, 2016. Overcast, light rain, bit chilly in the evening.

2) In this song, the family sits down to eat and discuss the doings of their friends and neighbors. Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister were at the table. Who did you have dinner with on Friday? Myself.

3) Young Billie Joe MacAllister playfully put a frog down another kid's back. Do you see many frogs where you live? Hmm...not that I know of. Although there is a creek down at the bottom of the hill here, there's probably some frogs there.

4) This song made Mississippi's Tallahatchie Bridge famous. What's the name of a bridge in your neighborhood? The Spit Bridge, it's an opening bridge, fun to look at...unless you're in a real hurry!

5) Bobbie Gentry often performed with Glen Campbell. Mr. Campbell's family is very open about Glen's battle with Alzheimer's. Is anyone in your life facing this terrible disease? My Great-Aunt had it, but she died many years ago...I don't think anyone else in the family has it, knock on wood. Although M does have Parkinsons.

6) "Ode to Billie Joe" was made into a movie directed by Max Baer, Jr. Mr. Baer is better known for playing Jethro Bodine in a famous 1960s era sitcom. Can you name it?7) Bobbie Gentry made one of her last public appearances in 1981 on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny is now seen in reruns on the Antenna TV channel. Think of the last TV show you watched. Was it new or was it a rerun? I'm watching House Hunters: International and it's a repeat from early today!

8) In 1967, when this song was popular, Sweden changed its traffic laws and Swedes began driving on the right. Have you ever driven in a foreign country? If so, did you have a hard time adapting to their laws? Interesting! I didn't know they did that. And no I haven't driven in a foreign country. My father had to drive in the US once, he did very well, except for the roundabout, he went the wrong way!

9) Random question: Which would you rather have more of -- compliments or hugs? HUUUUGS!

OK, time to hit the hay, I'm looking forward to my flannette sheets!

Goodnight all!
