Australian Figure Skaters!

anonymoose_au10:35pm: Yes, I couldn't find it last night, but there was skating shown yesterday afternoon - which I forgot to record - of the Australian figure skating team at the Four Continents Competition. So I'm watching and recording it on SBS on Demand and...holy shit, I think I recognise their coach! He shows up at the skating rink at Macquarie. Get outta town, that's pretty cool.
Anyway! Unfortunately none of the Aussies finished in the top 10, but hey there's like seven ice rinks in the whole country and figure skating's a sport you have to start at young so there's not a lot of opportunities for us. The important thing is...all skaters had an inflatable kangaroo in the Kiss and Cry. because that's how Aussie's roll.
In other news, my brother and his wife have had their baby! Way earlier than everyone thought! Or perhaps not, because in the photo my brother sent the new baby - Emma - isn't in an incubater or anything. But my parents aren't scheduled to go over until the start of April, my brother Mike actually asked Mum if she could come earlier, but alas changing flights is an expensive thing to do so she can't.
I'm thinking I want to make something for my niece! Perhaps a stuffed kangaroo, although I'm not entirely sure, I'd need a pattern and the right kind of fabric.
Oh wait one of Aussie boys doesn't have the kangaroo, shaaaame. But here comes an Aussie I've never seen before, so that's exciting. He didn't come last so I'm sure he mustn't have totally sucked.
Of course, all this reminds me it's been forever since I've gone skating, man I hope I haven't forgotten everything. I don't want to have to do that hanging onto the barrier thing again.

Pounding the Pavement
1. What was the occasion for your last going door-to-door? Like from house to house? I've never done that, when I was a kid Halloween wasn't a thing and I had no reason to go door-knocking.
2. When did you last trip and fall? I almost did today! Fortunately I managed to stay upright, but about a month back I slipped on some oil in a parking lot and almost landed in a split! It's a miracle I didn't pull something.
3. When wandering about, where are you most likely to stop and take a photo of something? Quite likely actually, although I don't walk around quite as much as I used to since getting my car. Also one of the last times I took a photo of something in the window of a shop the owner came out and told me off. o.O I did take a photo of a green car a few weeks ago without getting into trouble though.
4. How safe do you feel walking around your neighborhood at night by yourself? Well, not too safe here but that's because there's not many street lights and footpaths, so the chance of spraining something is high.
5. How do you feel about FitBit and other smart health gadgets? I love 'em! Although I have lost a fair number of pedometres, my activity tracker and my Misfit. But fingers crossed I can keep my new activity tracker on hand. I like having a goal to strive for regarding steps and whatnot, even if I don't always meet them!

1. What’s the last powder you dissolved in liquid? I dissolved sugar in water while I was cleaning out the holder Mrs S gave me.
2. What did you last sprinkle over a plate of food? Um...I don't do condiments so...never.
3. What were the last ingredients you blended? Butter, sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, cocoa powder and milk to make batter for chocolate cupcakes, yum!
4. When did you last let something simmer? Just a few hours ago, my meat sauce for spaghetti tonight and lasagna tomorrow.
5. When did you last experience a stirring rendition of something? Well, a girl on Australia's Got Talent song a very beautiful song tonight while accompanying herself on piano, beats me what the song was called though.

All About LJ
These questions were written a decade ago (!) by newsong on LJ.
Despite the fact these questions about LJ I'll answer them because I still have an LJ technically.
1. Are your "LJ friends" friends to you, or just acquaintances? Real friends! You guys are all awesome!
2. How do you feel about modern feminism? Well, it would seem not all the questions are about LJ, but er anyway, I think it's an important movement we should all get behind, although there needs to be more input worldwide since women's issues in other countries are sometimes left out of the discussion.
3. Do you look down on people for their LJ habits, or do you think everyone's entitled? Nah, live and let live, I say.
4. Have you ever been flamed? If so, what for? Thankfully no. At least...not to my face, which I guess is the point of a flame. Someone might have bitched me out behind my back though, I suppose. :OP
5. What is it about LJ that keeps you posting here? Well, prior to the great redesign failure of...whenever it was, it was the sense of community and being able to write my thoughts out day to day.

1. Do you live a house, a condo, or some kind of apartment? A Granny flat, which is self-contained, but attached to the main house unlike the last granny flat I was at. This one is nicer though.
2. Do you rent or own? Rent, no way I could own!
3. What’s one thing that you would change about it if you could? Well, I'd like to have my own washing machine, but it's not so bad having to share with the landlords, it's nice of them to give me access!
4. Would you like to move? Fuck no, I just moved in!
5. Do you read the answers of others before answering yourself? Nah. never occurred to me to be honest, since my friends don't do memes.
Right, time to wrap this up, although rather annoyingly it looks like I'll need to rerecord this because it kept buffering on me at some points. How irritating. And just to rub it in, it's doing it again. Boo.
Ah well, I shall be off.
