The Incredible Expanding Fabric!

What am I banging on about? My dress, it barely fit when I first sewed it together but now the top of the bodice part of the dress is rather loose... Maybe it's supposed to be like that? I dunno...
In any case I managed to sew the skirt to the bodice, but it's not sitting quite right...I guess maybe I went a bit over board putting in the pleats? Because it ended up a bit too short, so I had to unpick some of it and it ended up a bit too long. But, I guess I want to debut it on my birthday so I guess I have more time to perfect.
Speaking of my birthday...I need to figure out what to do! The mini-golf thing? Or something else? It's a bit hard to get all the friends together though because not all of them have got back to me after I managed to lose everyone's numbers! Perhaps Facebook messenger will come to my rescue.
In other news! It was fun being with my friend for New Year's Eve, which we also celebrated with her parents when they got back from dinner. I have to say though, nothing beats being there and hearing the fireworks go off in person. Didn't help that the background music they decided to play kinda sucked.
Also, I was most disappointed to discover there's nothing on the Bridge this year! Apparently, the decoration is meant to be the lights that over the whole Bridge, but they've had those lights before and usually the're still some little symbol or picture. Heads should roll! :OP
Although, staying at home does have the benefit of making it easy to get to bed before 1am, LOL, although I did still run a bit late getting to Mrs. S's house.
Also to my disappointment, the size 6 $7 gumboots are too small, my ankles bones stick out a lot so they were rubbing against the boot, which meant, of course, that I'd never be able to stick my long pants in there, which rather defeats the purpose of having them. They don't make it easy, I tells ya.
Oh! And the biggest surprise of the day...after getting a very slow start and being all but out of the game I beat M at Canasta today! OMG! Go me! Although, I did keep her up way past her nap time so that might have had something to do with my winning. :OP Although I was a bit sleepy too, although my app does indicate I got 4 hours of restful sleep last night at least, cool.
And I also had a delicious lunch curtosey of Grandpa, spaghetti! Yum! Haven't had that in a while. :O)
Now, I have to be off because I need to do my Duolingo Russian study! Although I'm falling behind on the Memes again, tsk tsk.
But now I bid you all goodnight!
