Today Did Not Go Exactly As Planned...

10:58pm: Because I have problems when I drive on unfamiliar roads, because my sense of direction is terrible, not to mention much of the road was sort of...rural I don't like rural-like roads, I feel all isolated and stuff. Anyway, long story short I had a bit of a panic attack and ended up giving up on going ice skating.
Why was I travelling on an unfamiliar road do you ask? Well, I decided to go to the Lincraft at the Supercentre in Belrose, I've been there before so I didn't have trouble going there where I bought some white taffetta to make my petticoat properly - the pink fabric I used before wasn't the right quite of material and seemed to be falling apart all ready! Unfortunately it wasn't on special so it cost me 10 bucks to get a metre. All the same, I'm sure I've saved lots of money making my dress rather than having it made by someone else, plus I've learnt new skills! I probably shouldn't have bought the extra bias binding though - I didn't realise it would be so expensive! I feel a bit ripped off, I actually thought about returning it right away, but I didn't want to be late to the ice skating.
But alas...sniff...I never made it to the rink, because I got so freaked out driving on Mona Vale Road, I turned off it and eventually ended up on a familiar road, although not before I'd manage to scratch myself and called Mum - although I didn't mention the scratching to her. The familiar road was one in Chatswood, and I did plan to continue onto Macquarie Park, but the traffic decided to be an ass and even though the clocks in my car are a bit fast I was pretty sure I wouldn't make it in time. So...I turned around and headed back to the flat.
Although, how awkward is it that by having a panic attack from driving I ended up driving for a much longer time then I otherwise would have! Hmpf! Well, since I toughed it out perhaps my anxiety level in such circumstances will be decreased.
Still, I wanted to go ice skating, dang it! I suppose I'll have to try and find time this week...but I'm not sure when.
Also, the scratching! Damnit! Now there's a scab, which I hope will go away before the Halloween Party. But I'm getting concerned about this backsliding. I'm thinking I should bring a squeezy ball or something to give my hand something to do at these moments. Although since my car's a manual it'd be a kind of juggling match! I guess you can only do your best.
Moving on from these less than cheerful news, I was vindicated in hanging my laundry inside because I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of rain, although I did manage to leave my beach towel, swimmers and slip-on shoes outside. Whoops.
Right, it's getting late so I better do a few memes and run!

Goings On
1. What’s an issue you wish more people knew about? You mean globally or something? Hmm...well I feel like the necessity of clean water doesn't seem to be on enough people's radar, although I'm sure they know about it...it's just not considered much.
2. When were you last outraged about something? Some bullshit Tony Abbott said before he was mercifully removed from the PMship, although Turnbull is proving to be disappointing, particularly on the equal marriage thing and environmental and refugee issues. I should get outraged over that...
3. When you were a kid, what was the first news story to make an impression on you? It was a good news one, the naming of Sydney as the host city for the 2000 Olympics! My family and I were all in England at the time and watched the announcement on a tiny TV in our motorhome parked on the side of the road. I remember all the cheering, LOL.
4. What’s getting far too much media attention lately? Hmmm...I'm not sure...there's a lot of things that always show up on the news, but they're important. Even the latest with the Kardasians is serious since the guy is in hospital in a critical condition and everything. Although we probably don't really need to know about that.
5. What’s a consumer product you’d recommend to others? Uh...toothpaste? Keep your teeth clean kids! :OP
The (Other) Friday Five
16/10/15
1. What pets do you have? I have a betta fish called Nedshenko, he's black and aqua and very handsome indeed. Fine fish indeed.
2. Have you always had pets, even as a child? Sort of, although they were family pets more than mine, excepting my beloved Frankie, ah I miss him. After leaving home, I've been keeping fish, mostly, which started when Dad asked me to look after his fish while he and Mum were on a long holiday.
3. What was the most unusual pet you’ve ever owned? I got nothin' unless you count the Plant, since I kind of did, and still do LOL.
4. Do you ever pet sit? Nope, my little bro has though.
5. How would you finish this statement, “You know you are a pet owner when _____?” You talk about how cute they are. :OP
And I shall leave Saturday and Sundays memes for another time, for now though, goodnight!
