anonymoose_au: (Find X All My Math's Fantasies Come True)
Apparently my old school Monte can't either...their quarter-annual newsletter thing came in today, so I decided to take a look see, they're builidng another learning centre thing (don't know what they need it for, it wasn't like the school was crowded), but they also had a little blurb about the Class of 2001's Five Year Reunion, which was a bit confusing because the picture was dated 2005, and you know, that's only four years, plus I didn't recognise a single girl or name. Then I looked at the back and saw someone I did recognise, but it said she was from the Class of 2002.

WTF? We're the Class of 2001! I know this because that's what my school jumper says, it also makes sense because unlike the Northern Hemisphere each year= a school year. The only reason I went back to my school in 2002 is because they invited us to to get our results. So, I'm thinking, should I call them up and point out the discrepancy, but LOL who does that? But I don't wanna be the Class of 02! Been the Class of 01 means we're number one! :OD And my big bro is a big zero, LOL ;O)!

I decided though to pop on over to the School website to take a look, and OMG! They've changed the Curriculum so you have to studay Australian History until Year 11, that's terrible! I mean, let's be honest here, Australian history isn't all that interesting...or at least it shouldn't take away from Modern and Ancient History...I was just thinking when I was investigating all the New York schools for The HO that there's way too much US History going on and not enough World History. Now that you can communicate with the world in a second learning more about that is important I tells ya.

But did you know my school now has student email and everything...hmpf, in my day we used outside email and had to climb 50 stairs to get it. :OP Da-yamn this makes me feel old...Now I'm not in any school at all...but hopefully I'll soon be employed. I got to the interview right on time! In fact I was a few minutes early...which almost didn't happen, if I hadn't taken the 144 bus (I was considering going down to North Sydney train station rather than St. Leonard's), I would have been late! Phew, things were comin' up, Moose!

I found the building easily too, it helped that it had a big sign on it :O) the offices look very nice, I was interviewed in a big board room with shelves all around filled with books! :OD So many books, I actually looked at a few because they left me in there for a bit too long, but I didn't want to be seen doing so, so I fumbled a bit trying to put back the book I was looking at.

Anyway, I think it all went well, I mean I was interested and stuff, it sounds like a really neat way to get to know the ins and outs of the publishing world, and if I get it I'll even have my own little office, coooool. :O) They didn't even mind my super messy handwriting (I had to fill out this form...) and they'll be getting back to me early next week, fingers and toes crossed people!

I was going to have work tomorrow, but the Delievery people dropped the ball, so there's no work to be had. Ah well...I use my time constructively (read: Play Sims :OP)

I'm still looking at the school website, they've got this virtual tour on there and the Library still looks the same as ever...but I want to check out this new building they put up, I have no idea why they built it, it looks rather out of place if you ask me, I wonder what goes on in there, probably Food Technology or something.

Anyway, a pinch and a punch for the first of the month!
