Just When You Think It Can't Get Any Worse...

9:56am: I ran into a bicyclist this morning! Actually ran into him with my car! Head on! The poor guy is OK, but...I ran into a human being with my car!

I have no idea really how it happened...I didn't see him, it's like he came out of nowhere! Just before I ran into him I was feeling really nauseous, I honestly thought I was going to be sick. I should have pulled over, but there's really nowhere to do that in the city, so I decided to head home instead. And that's when I ran into him!

So now I'm worried that I was so anxious (you know with the stupid phobia of throwing up I have and all) that I didn't see him even though he was right there! The policemen said that I won't go to court or jail or anything, but it was like they knew something I didn't, as in he really was quite visible on the road and I really didn't see him! I'm probably going to get booked for negligent driving.

I'm sure that the cyclist and his family and friends are most angry at me for running into him like that...what does one do in that situation? Pray? Send flowers to the hospital, get his phone number and call him up to apologise?

What a mess.

Possibly calling the hospital and sending something might be a nice idea - it depends, did he seem really angry? If not, then he'd probably appreciate it, and it might make you feel a bit better too...
