11:24pm: I'm watching a show called Front of House which involves some designers coming over and changing the front of your house to make it all eyepopping and what not.
They seem to be obsessed with mega-size stencils and bright bold colours, which makes me wonder...do the neighbours ever take issue with it? Or do they make sure to clear it with them first? Because imagine if the TV show went to all that trouble just so the council could come in and tell them to change everything back. Or what if you don't actually like the changes they made? Will they change it back then?
I guess since it's usually friends or family calling up to enter you into these things they'd have a decent idea of what you'd go for. Still, it's a bit of a risk I should think!
Anyway! It's later than I thought, because I've got all caught up in this book I'm reading. It's a young adult novel about some pair skaters, secret relationships and all that jazz. One can see the ending coming a mile away, but I'm still enjoying it! :OP
Besides there's not a lot to report, except that I had a somewhat unpleasant experience at the library when someone from the other branch called and practically abused me over the phone because I did the wrong thing with a book club kit reservation. Seriously whoever it was was a complete bitch, snapping at me and all but calling me an idiot, then hanging up on me. I felt like calling back and telling her exactly what I thought of her, well either that or cry. I didn't do either, but I did complain to my co-worker who was surprised and sympathetic. I was even more put out when I discovered that the proper procedure requires one to call the branch to ask them to send over the book club kit, be damned if I was going to do that though!
My co-worker was nice enough to do so, and then the final kick in the pants, the book club kit in question is missing! Apparently it was ruined in a roof leak, but no-one knows for sure. So the whole thing was just a fuck up all around. I still can't believe the person was so rude to me, though, who the Hell does she think she is? I'm a casual so excuse me if I didn't get the email about the procedure, which is basically counterintutive to every other procedure in the place. I'm almost tempted to complain to the Head Honcho, but I suppose whoever it is could have been having an off-day...shouldn't make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Right! I gotta dash because it'll be midnight soon and I haven't done my Russian for today yet!
I bid you all goodnight!
