Picky, Picky...
Sep. 20th, 2015 11:46 pm11:15pm: Or should that be unpicky, unpicking, because that's just what I finished doing to my tulle after realising I'd stitched it wrong. Man, I hope I don't get RSI from all that, it took almost an hour! The skirt is really huge it's supposed to be gathered, which is what makes it puffy, but I didn't take that into account and set the tension of the stitch so when it came to trying to gather the top of the skirt in, nothing happened. Or rather it did happen, but then the stitch broke and the whole thing went wonky.
Suffice to say even if it wasn't so late I'd be all sewed out today! I'll try again tomorrow.
Moving on, I didn't spend all day sewing, no I went to see my friend! Which was fun! We watched Borat, which I've never seen. Damn, I can't believe Sasha Baron Cohen got away with all that! Some people will believe anything! Although, I did look up the film on Wikipedia and it was a bit concerning that a number of actors from the Kakhastani part felt they weren't properly paid and had no idea what was going down etc. That ain't right.
So yes, it was good to be social, although as it turned out my friend does have a job so she doesn't need to find another one. Further to that she only ran into the TAFE friend who invited us to the party by chance so doesn't have contact details. Dang, seems I've hit a dead end, Mrs S will have to see if the other carer knows anyone or get a recommendation from the Allowance Inc people or something.
And...at this late hour I won't be able to do all the memes, but I'll do a couple before I head off.

Procrastination
1. What haven’t you framed yet? Uh...well there's my Certificate IIIs, but I only just got those a week or so ago. Although I haven't had my Bachelor of Art or my Masters degree framed yet, which is procrastination.
2. What haven’t you thrown out yet? Damn...heaps and heaps of stuff. I should really look into that, but I'm such a pack-rat.
3. What haven’t you repaired yet? Hmmm...nothing I can think of. Although...I was meant to sew my work pants because some of thread unravelled and that can't be good, but I haven't.
4. Whom haven’t you called or emailed yet? M, I'm pretty sure Mum said she wanted me to call and she said that on Friday so yeah...I'll have to do it tomorrow. I hope she won't be irritated!
5. What haven’t you seen yet? Hmmm...oh season two of Modern Family which I borrowed from Mona Vale Library, I was going to begin today but ran out of time. I really better get onto that.
Saturday 9
:Time for Me to Fly (1978):
1) How often have you flown so far this year? No times.
2) Think back to your last flight. Was it pleasant, stressful, or just uneventful? Hmmm, it was pretty annoying since it was the trip back from Bali and the plane was totally full and my friend and I had some seriously shitty seats. On the upside the food was good.
3) According to the Airports Council International, the world’s busiest airport is Atlanta's Hartsfield. Have you ever been to Atlanta? Nope, but Airports Council International? Sounds like my kind of organisation!
4) This week’s featured band, REO Speedwagon, took their name from a truck. Have you ever driven a truck? Nope! And seriously I don't think I could, I have a terrible time judging distances, I'd probably hit things.
5) REO Speedwagon got their start in Champaign, Illinois, which is home to the U of I campus and, consequently, many bars. One of the most popular is the Blind Pig on Walnut Street. Give us the name of the bar, club or restaurant where you met up with friends in your younger days. I don't like clubbing, but a friend of mine does sing Jazz on Monday nights at a place called The World Bar and I have visited there a few times. Nice place.
6) Recently, lead singer Kevin Cronin appeared on an infomercial, hawking TimeLife’s two CD set of Ultimate Rock Ballads. Have you ever purchased anything from TV? Nope.
7) This song is from the CD, You Can Tune a Piano, but You Can’t Tunafish. Is there a can of tuna in your kitchen right now? LOL, that's terrible! And I don't like tuna so no.
8) You Can Tuna Piano, but You Can’t Tunafish is available on eBay on vinyl, CD, cassette and 8 track. Did you have an 8 track player? I don't even know what that is, I don't think I've ever seen one.
9) In 1978, when this song was popular, the first Susan B. Anthony Dollar was minted. How much do you have in coins in your wallet right now? Ummm, I dunno, probably four dollars something, I don't have enough time to check right now.
Yikes! It's only fifteen minutes until midnight, I gotta haul ass!
Goodnight all!
