Ow My Knee!
Aug. 10th, 2015 11:21 pm10:53pm: It's most sore, for no reason I can think of...I don't recall doing anything weird today and it's not like I walked around a lot or went to the gym or any such thing. How irritating...I suppose I should see if I can find my knee brace, because I don't want a sore leg tomorrow, it's Library Day!
Moving on, as mentioned yesterday, today is Mrs. S's birthday and my cupcakes were a big hit! :O) I almost forgot to bring them along though! Fortunately, I thought I'd forgotten my bottle of water so I ran back upstairs to get it and then remembered!
In the end I had 9 cupcakes that were good enough to be given as a birthday gift, which left me with the leftovers - mostly the ones that got broken when I tried to get them out - and the reset of the frosting. Good times, good times. Although probably not so good for my diet :OP or keeping my kitchen clean, it's looking pretty bad right now...I must get onto that.
Anyway, I better do the memes then wrap this up, bed calls!
Saturday 9
:Rocky Mountain High (1975):
1) In this song, Denver sings that he was "born in the summer of his 27th year," because that's when he discovered the place where he felt most at home. What do you remember about your 27th year? (If it hasn't happened yet, what do you want to happen when you're 27?) Well that was four years ago now...which makes me feel old...which would have been 2011, what happened in 2011? To be honest I can't really remember, that's why I keep a journal! :OP Look it up! Except I'm quite sure that was the year I worked in the ABC Tape Library for three months, aaah such good times.
2) In 2007, the Colorado General Assembly named this one of the state's two official songs. (The other is "Where the Columbines Grow.") Do you know your state song? I don't think we have one? We've got the Australian Anthem.
3) John Denver was a dedicated environmentalist who wrote an anthem about Earth Day. Are you careful about your energy consumption? Do you recycle? I try to be! Although it's rather cold right now so I've been using the heater quite a bit...And I definitely recycle!
4) 1975 is also the year that Denver released a collection of holiday songs called Rocky Mountain Christmas. On this August day, what's the first carol that comes to mind? Uh...Deck the Halls Why? No particular reason.
5) Denver dabbled in photography in his spare time and friends say he was quite good. Tell us about your hobbies. Well, I love to read, surf the web, and watch TV.
6) In 1975, when this song was popular, mood rings were all the rage. It was said that the ring reflected the wearer's mood. Black = anxious/stressed, orange = worried, green = normal, blue = happy, pink = as good as it gets. As you respond to this week's Saturday 9, what color would your mood ring be? Ha ha, I had a mood ring once, but I think it ended up being always black, how rude! :OP As for what colour it would be now...that's hard to say because my knee is killing me but otherwise I feel pretty good...black-blue then?
7) Pet Rocks were 1975's other odd cultural phenomenon. Do you have any real-life, breathing pets? LOL how did Pet Rocks work anyway? And alas no, although I'm thinking of getting a Betta fish.
8) 1975 saw the premiere of Wheel of Fortune. Are you good at word puzzles? Not as good as wish I could be, but I'm all right...I think. Sometimes I can get them really easily, but other times I'm hopeless!
9) Random question: Did you sleep well last night? I did actually!
