11:34pm: Indeed so! The winds last night must have blown all the clouds away, but alas...I didn't end up going ice skating because my abdominal area is being a jerk...I don't know if it's middle of the month stuff - because some of the pain is like little cramps. Rude.

Anyway! I at least got to do my laundry without too much trouble today, although it was still wet so I've left it up on the line. I sure hope it doesn't rain tonight...although taking a look at the sky out there it doesn't seem likely.

Although, I didn't check the washing machine during the first load and it did that stupid stopping in the middle of the cycle thing, so I ended up having to take the car to church because I'd get there too late if I took the bus. The normal organist chap is away for some weeks so we've got the other guy, although sadly the hymns remain lame. Man, tonight for example we could have had some really uplifting ones, but nope.

Anyway, not much else to report, must remember to go to Aldi and Bunnings tomorrow as well as the gym. Although the ice rink does call to me...but we'll see I guess.

And before I go, the memes!

Saturday 9

:Battle Hymn of the Republic:

(From the archives)

1) This recording was made live at St. Patrick's Cathedral, during Sen. Robert Kennedy's funeral. (Hear it here.) While both of Bobby's older brothers were decorated war heroes, he served too -- enlisting in the Navy in 1943. Are you a veteran? Are there veterans in your family? (We are grateful and want to hear about it.) Me, no. But both my grandfathers were in the military, my paternal grandfather was in the army and went to Papua New Guinea during WWII, unfortunately he saw some bad things and it effected him greatly afterwards. He died quite young before I was born, so I never met him. As for my maternal grandfather he was fortunate that he didn't see much action, but apparently one of my maternal grandmother's uncles went to and survived Gallipoli! Which I just found out about last week, very interesting! I think he ended up on the Western Front afterwards, yikes, but he survived that too!

2) Memorial Day also kicks off the summer season. What's your favorite picnic food? Well it's not summer here in the Southern Hemisphere :OP But to answer your question...watermelon, nothing like watermelon on a picnic!

3) Name a scent that reminds you of someone special in your life. Hmmm, well my sense of smell is decidedly crappy, so I don't really know to be honest. I'm more likely to remember a picture or image...

4) When was the last time you had your hair cut or trimmed? It's been quite a while...I wonder if I should look into that, though my hair seems pretty OK at present.

5) Crazy Sam runs on Dunkin'. Are you loyal to a particular brand of coffee? Nope, don't like coffee.

6) If money was no object, what home improvement would you like to make this summer? Get a dishwasher...somehow...washing up by hand pisses me off no end!

7) What was the last thing you bought purely for your own enjoyment? Some nice winter green pjs from Coles. They sell all sorts of things there these days...

8) When was the last time you rode a bike? Damn...not in ages, I've toyed with buying a bike on and off, but...yeah not sure.

9) Sam worries that many of her song selections reflect her decidedly Baby Boomer sensibilities. Is there a song or a performer that you'd like to see featured in a Saturday 9 this summer? Um...The Corrs, although to be honest, since I don't link to my answers the blog owner will never know this! :OP

Righto, it's almost midnight so better wrap this up!

Goodnight all!
