10:53pm: Yes, alas, Daylight Savings has ended, just in time for the weather to clear up and give us a truly lovely day for Easter. So that's good news...however it was all ready dark by 6:30pm, that sucked!

Oh well, what can you do? I did wake up at like 6am this morning and it was quite dark, so I suppose the people who have to rise early for work wouldn't care for that, still, it's not that bad, at least in my opinion. And I do have the back up of two of my Facebook friends, which I'm sure makes no difference at all...

I'm watching Hoarders: Buried Alive, and this guy sure has a lot of jeans...Which really isn't the issue at hand, but it was something that stuck out for me. I probably should consider my TV viewing choices, last night and earlier today I was watching shows about fixing bad tattoos! O.o Strangely addictive.

In other news, after yesterday evening's bruhaha I went to church this morning, although I had to hurry because I got up at 9 and the service at the church my parents go to started at 9:30! Turns out there were two Baptisms going on so even though I was about ten minutes late I hadn't missed that much. Although I did have an unfortunate experience as I drove there, I cut a corner way too close - without intending to! - and there was a banging sounded and the car bounced away from the curb! I was terrified I'd dinged the front of the car or that the left front tyre was punctured. That happened to me once before and it was not pretty...

Anyway, the car tyre was OK and the mass despite the Baptisms church took an hour and there were some good hymns so that was good!

Then I returned to the flat to decorate the cupcakes and head for my Uncle and Aunt's where I was the first to arrive! I hadn't been sure if I was meant to get there at 10:45 or 11:45...I ended up getting there at 11, but my arrival was not unwelcome! In fact, my cousin Mack had very kindly cut up cheese into cubes just because he knew I liked them so much! :OD They were very yummy indeed! In fact his idea had been not to tell me he'd cut them and see if I'd realise they weren't store bought. ;O) They were very well-done! People can cut much better then I could do.

We also played a game of Canasta, which didn't begin very well for me! I ended up with like 800 points to Mack's 2,150 or so! LOL fail.

When Aunt Weed and her friend arrived she had bad news though, M wasn't well so wouldn't be able to come! What a shame especially since the bunny cupcakes were her idea! I took a picture though, which you can all see here.

Before eating the cupcakes we had lunch first, which was chicken, carrots and celery sticks provided by Grandpa, boiled pumpkins, two salads and a pasta bake made by my bro - the last three I didn't actually partake in. And not the celery sticks either...LOL I fail. But good eatin'!

Then it was cupcakes! And some egg exchange time, and after that Mack and I returned to the canasta game while Uncle Sam and Chris worked on getting the AFX track to work - you know the electrical little race car set - Uncle Sam and Mack have a huuuuge collections of track, with a loop de loops and corners and what not. They eventually got it going and Grandpa gave it a go, proving to be quite good indeed.

In the end despite an attempted comeback, Mack won the Canasta game handily, although we didn't quite follow M's rules, soooo... ;O)

And after that, it was off home, I was the last person to leave actually! But it was fun to hang out with Mack, even if I did get my butt kicked.

So in closing a very fun day was had by all! Plus I got an SMS from Mum and Dad, the ship has arrived in Colombo and they were touring a plantation. Later on Dad sent a nicely detailed account of what they've been up to so far. After this they'll be out of phone contact for another week, so that was good!

Now, before I head off, some of the Memes!

Friday5

Extinction

1. What’s the coolest of the extinct animal species? Pterodactyls were pretty cool I have to say! Although...I'm glad they aren't around these days!

2. What classification (however you want to define that) of human being seems to be an endangered species? Uh...gee...I dunno? Competent and compassionate politicians? At least in Australia, hmpf!

3. How do you feel about the disappearance of the neighborhood video rental store? Well! There are in fact two of them down in Dee Why, which is interesting...although the Blockbuster near where my parents used to live shut down. It had been there for like 25 years, so that was quite sad. I did pick up some DvD bargains there a week back before it shut though...

4. What’s an older technology that you consider better than a newer technology that’s replaced it? Hmmm...I'm not actually sure. Maybe laptops and computers? They don't seem to last as long as they used to, but that could just be that technology like new graphics engines for games and whatnot are progressing faster.

5. What no-longer-available snack item do you miss most? Those candy cigarettes! You have to admit they were yummy! But it's probably for the best they're not around anymore...don't start smoking, kids.

The (Other) Friday Five

This week's questions are brought to you courtesy of [personal profile] autumnmuse, the letter F, and the number 5...

Time & Chance!

1. You're transported to the year 2000. What do you do differently? If nothing, why not? What made 2000 so memorable. Well, shit first thing I'd do is warn the US about 9/11! Although I'm not sure they'd take me seriously...in fact I'd probably end up being a suspected terrorist. Still, I'd have to try...
As for what made 2000 so memorable, not only was it the end of the millenium it was also the year of the 2000 Sydney Olympics! Oh man, I'd so enjoy living those two weeks again. Good times, good times.

2. Time travel is made possible, and you afford a 10 minute trip to some point in your past. Where do you go and what do you say to your past self? I'd probably go to 2008 and tell myself to hunt for library jobs hard-core, 'cause I'm going to get fired from the job I was doing in 2009 and employment would be spotty from there on in...

3. List 5 things that make you proud to be who you are. Let's see...my imagination, my enthusiasm, my niceness to others, uh family ties and my arm muscles - hey, they used to be really weak.

4. NASA found a meteor that is heading for earth and they can't save us. They've said we have FIVE days to live before this meteor crashes to earth and extinguishes life. What do you do with your five days? Gosh, I'd want to spend it with my family! But I also want to finally get to New York City, so honestly it's a bit of a pickle there. Family would win out...but hey maybe we could all go to New York!

5. A tsunami comes in, creating a small island that you are now stranded on (everyone else in the world is fine, but it'll be a while before they find you). Miraculously, you are able to save three things before everything around you flooded. What (up to ten) "things" do you save? Oh man, I hate huge waves...they terrify me. Anyway, as for what I'd save, my laptop, my bed and the cheese in my fridge (I gotta eat something!)

Yaaawn! There's still the Saturday and Sunday memes to do, but I shall leave them until tomorrow for I am sleepy (after all it feels like it's an hour later then it actually is!), so I shall wrap this up now.

Before I go though, Happy Easter to all!
