That Takes Me Back...
Feb. 7th, 2014 11:48 pm11:12pm: So I've been looking at my old LJ entries and I was reminded - most depressingly that almost ten years ago I almost got a job at Stanton Library. I mean I had done the interview and got the call and everything.
Then I fucked it by mentioning some injuries I'd got at the time, namely a sore elbow... as a result they sent me to get a medical check before confirming everything and the doctor that son of a bitch said I was too weak (aka I couldn't lift 16 kilos) and the job slipped away.
Can you believe that? I can't...and I wonder what would have happened if I'd got that job, it was only a shelving position granted, probably not full-time, but it could have led to so many things... I might still be working there in a secure position! Hell I might even have the mortgage on this apartment in my name instead of preparing to move out, with no idea when I'll be returning.
Sigh! The only consolation right now is 1) I've managed to really clean this place up looks brand new :OP and 2) There a possible library job that could be right up my alley! I totally need to apply and keep my fingers crossed!
Although as a caveat to 1 I have to finish cleaning the bathroom, Mum came over tonight along with the first person who was interested in the apartment. Mum though was of the opinion that the woman in question probably wasn't going to go for it. The apartment is very small, like 30 square metres small. Do'h.
There was someone else, they actually called me this morning, but they lost interest when I mentioned how much in advance the rent would need to be paid. Plus they were out of town and wouldn't be able to see the place until practically they day before my mother wants me back at the parental abode.
There was also another guy but he wanted 6 months minimum so no on that too.
In other news, my tablet's clock is three minutes slower than my laptop's clock...which one is right? They're both supposed to be set up to update through the net so... Mysterious indeed. Either way it's a bit late for me to do memes, plus I'm sleepy so I'll leave that for tomorrow.
In closing though, I played Sims 3 this evening, yay! Emil Von Braun, Doc's father has just grown into a young adult and I plan to send him to Uni before relocating he and his parents to Hill Valley where he can meet and marry Doc's mother etc etc. Hey if I've finished Uni myself I might as well get back into my Simmies. Although Sims 4 is coming out...might hold off on buying that though.
So yeah that's about all I have to say, except my experiment in sleeping on two pillows to prevent nasal congestion was a bust, not only did I wake with a stuffy nose, I woke with the worst neck ache, which has led to a headache which has gone on all day. Hmpf, not cool.
Anywho, I'll be off now, I wish you all goodnight!
