Live From the Grandparents
Jul. 11th, 2013 10:58 pm10:10pm:It's me!
Yes, the party went well, with yummy Thai food and cheese cake and Vienetta ice cream cake! And presents for Mack, including the solar powered robot thing my little bro bought and my card. Which reminds me I owe him some money since we're supposed to go half on it.
Anyway, Mack liked my card, sadly I didn't get a picture of it since I didn't think of it until it was too late, do'h.
Mack also got a walkie-talkie set from my grandparents and parents, which he really seemed to enjoy once they got it working.
However, I must say I'm most sleepy today, I practically feel asleep after everyone (excepting the grandparents, of course) left, but now I've got my second wind, which is a bit inconvienent since I do have to go to bed soon.
Anyway, a good time was had by all and I don't have much else to report, except I shouldn't do too much internetting because apparently last time I was here I used up half of Grandpa's internet allowance for the month! Definitely better steer clear of YouTube when I'm here.
And finally Meme time!
Booking Through Thursday
Dogs and Pets
My dog just had his birthday (12 years old, thanks), so … how do you feel about books about dogs or pets? Fluffy stories of fluffy family members? Solid books on training them or taking care of them? Touching reminiscences of trouble and the way a person’s dog (or pet) has helped get them through? (Mind you, almost all the pet-related books on my shelf are about dogs, but I’m well aware that people love their cats, horses, ferrets, rabbits, fish, etc. just as much, so … any species is fine!) Any favorite books to recommend?
Hmmm, well, the first stories were about animals, in fact the first story I ever completed and showed someone (my Year 5 teacher) was about a girl who swapped bodies with her cat!
As for actual published books...I can't think of any off the top of my head, I did enjoy the Animals of Farthing Wood and Black Beauty was pretty good.
And now I best be off.
Goodnight all!
