Brrr!

10:46pm: Indeed, the rain is gone, but it was damn cold today, even with my cardigan, jacket, coat, scarf and beanie I was still damn cold! Hmpf, I need to remember to take my gloves with me, my poor fingers get so cold!

In other news, this morning turned out to be a bit of a schmoozle, at least as far as my little bro went, he ran late and then as it turned out had directed me to the wrong place! In the end we did get to the right spot and he headed off to work, but he was supposed to start at 9 and it was 10 past by then and he still had to get a bus! I hope he wasn't too late, I almost suggested he hang around so we could drop him off, but yeah...

Although, I felt kind of bad when my parents thanked me for picking them up because technically I didn't. However, I did end up having to help Mum with cleaning the car, which incidentally took for-bloody-ever! Seems going to the car wash was a popular thing to do today and there was only one car vacuum available for use and there was a line for that too. Although, of course, just before we left the second vacuum cleaner became available again. Hmpf, typical!

I got to the gym and church fine though, even though the replacement singer and organist we had tonight were kind of...lackluster. But considering my lack of singing talent, I shouldn't judge. They did get better towards the end though, plus we had the nice old priest Father John there tonight, always good, he likes to end with a joke :O)
And finally, would you believe the parental units aren't even here tonight? I thought only Mum was going to Olympic Park, but nope, Dad went too. I wonder if I'll see them before I head home tomorrow. Otherwise I'll have to wait til Tuesday!

And finally I went to bed late and woke up early, so I be tired, that been the case I shall Meme and run.

Saturday 9

:Dedicated to the One I Love:

Thanks to Diana for recommending the Mamas and the Papas. (You can listen to the song here.)

1) The lyrics include the line, "Love can never be exactly what we want it to be." Are you happy with your love life? Indeed I am, even though it's non-existant, LOL!

2) Another lyric is, "Each night before you go to bed, whisper a little prayer for me." Do you say your prayers? Not before going to bed, but I do after Communion at church.

3) Mama Michelle and Papa John were married in real life. It didn't end well -- not for the couple and not for the band. Do you believe you could work successfully with a romantic partner? Really? I didn't know that. And I'm not sure, having never been romantically involved with anyone. It's probably not a good idea, though.

4) After the band broke up, Michelle tried her hand at acting and eventually became a regular on the nighttime soap, Knott's Landing. Of course, she could live off of her music royalties while she learned her new craft. If money was no object, what career would like to try? Gee, I dunno...maybe making toy ponies LOL! That was fun to do.

5) There is a famous rumor -- completely false -- that Mama Cass died while eating a ham sandwich. Can you think of another urban legend? The mental patient who escaped from the asylum, snuck up on a couple making out in a car, lured the boyfriend out, killed him and hung him from a branch above the car so he's fingers scrapped the roof as he hung in the breeze...

6) In the 1960s, every high school girl wanted to wear her hair like Michelle and Cass -- long and straight. Can you recall a fashion trend from your school days? Well, our school had a uniform, so fashion wasn't exactly that noticeable. I do believe that wearing pants with skirts came in during that time, shit I hate that style.

7) With the Fourth of July falling on Thursday, are you able to enjoy a looooong four-day holiday weekend? Not American so N/A

8) Many communities have parades to celebrate Independence Day. Have you ever ridden on a float or marched in a parade? I have actually! I marched in and carried the flag for our local Brownie Guide group in the ANZAC Parade in Dubbo many years ago. My arms were sure tired by the end of the route!

9) In honor of the Fourth of July, name your favorite Founding Father. Not an American, but Ben Franklin sounds pretty cool.

Saturday Six

1. Which holiday are you most likely to spend outdoors? Probably Australia Day because the family usually has a barbeque and the weather is usually pretty good, so out we are!

2. What’s your favorite cookout food? Sausages, definitely! Yum!

3. Which cookout food could you do without? Not a fan of onions.

4. Which holidays do you think are appropriate to celebrate with fireworks? New Year's Eve! And possibly one's country's Celebratory Day (Independence Day and the like), Bonfire/Guy Fawkes Day, but that's pretty much it.

5. Which holidays do you wish weren’t celebrated with fireworks? The other ones, but especially Remembrance Day and other such days remembering our military people.

6. Which holiday is the last one for which you threw a party yourself? Well, I celebrated my 21st birthday on New Year's Eve (jointly with my parents' 25th Wedding Anniversary), that was pretty cool, fireworks and everything! Although the disco ball on the Bridge for that year's finale didn't work properly.

And now I shall be off!

Goodnight all!
