The History of Stupid Injuries to the Moose continues, with today's presentation:

Neck pain!

I got up early this morning, in preparation for work and the Christmas Party today, I look over to the microwave to check the time and OOooh my God! My neck! The pain! Thinking it's a bit stiff I massage it a bit and my God, the pain! I wiggle my thumb, which is still sore and wonder what I have done to deserve this.

It gets worse, no sooner than I finish my breakfast and take my medication, plus some pandol for the neck (which has done fuck all) my digestive system starts playing up. My God, I'm supposed to be going to the Christmas Party! But now, my stomach hurts, my neck really hurts and I'm pissed off.

I don't know what to do! Should I go? Should I not?

I'm at the Parentals House right now so I can't get on AIM,so I'm hoping you my dear LJ friends will read this in time to advise me. The party is a twenty minute drive away and starts in about one and a half hours. I'm notoriously indecisive, so I need some help in making up my mind!

Please advise.

5:28pm: Ok, I didn't go to the Christmas Party, although I have the feeling it was due more to my stomach ache then to my neck, though it really does hurt if I look the wrong way. I've just noticed though my hand feels kind of funny...geeze I hope I haven't pinched a nerve or something.

I'm worried though, because I'm supposed to pick M up tomorrow and take her home, but I have an awful feeling my poor neck will still be hurting. What am I supposed to do though? My mother will kick my ass if I don't pick M up! Also, I wouldn't want to leave M stranded...

This is shithouse.

And I do worry about missing the Christmas Party, it makes me look anti-social, I don't know if my supervisor even believed me when I called up, aybe I should have got a certificate,I mean you don't really need one, but I don't want them to think I don't like them or something.

Whoops I forgot about this entry so now it's like three hours later...Anyway, I didn't do the Memes yesterday, so I'll do 'em now:

3x Thursday

Random

1. What kind of mattress do you like to sleep on? Hard, soft, medium, etc. Does it matter to you? Why/why not?

Medium, if it's too soft I'll get back pain, if it's too hard it's hard to get comfortable.

2. Is your mode of transportation (motorcycle, car, bike, scooter, etc) reliable? Do you ever have much trouble with it?

Red Car: Problematic, especially the time it's battery went flat like three hundred metres from my damn apartment! That was a total pisser. Also had no air conditioner and that was just cruel.
White Car: Pretty good.

3. What kind of relationship do you have with your boss? Is it strictly business, or can you just hang out with them if you want to?

Oh! Don't remind me, I get the feeling he's not too pleased with me, due to several mistakes I have made over the past weeks and also not going to the Christmas Party today when I said I would. I suck.

Bonus Question for Comments: Do you like your house/apartment/room/whatever? Got any complaints?

Hells yeah! I have no compliants but if my parents came over and saw the mess they'd kick my ass.

Booking Through Thursday

Nursery Rhymes

1. They say that books read as a child make more of an impact on a person than books read at any other time in life. Are there any books that you particularly loved, that shaped the way you think when you were little? I'm not asking if you believed in fairies then but don't any more. I'm asking about patterns of thought, morality--something that made an impact.

Indeed! The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole had a great impact on me when I read it 8 years old, even though it's not a children's book it was repsonsible for interest in writing. Also Annie the Invisible Girl, which was about tolerance and getting along with people and stuff. Although I have to admit I remembered it mostly because of the kids from Greenville!

2. And, of course, examples, please!

Well, this was kinda of asked in the first question, but yes encouraging me to write was the big thing, even though it took me like ten years before I actually finished a story.

3. Also, did you read this book/these books more than once? Many times? Even if that's not a usual habit of yours?

Oh with my obsessiveness I will read the same book over and over, actually I usually end up reading the same section over and over rather than the whole thing, I don't know why, I guess they are just parts I like and feel are well-written.

Thursday Threesome

::Sweet Baby James::

Onesome: Sweet-- or sour? What type of sauces do you like on your dishes when you 'do Chinese'?

I don't like any sauce but tomato sauce, and I definitely wouldn't put that on Chinese food (gross), so none of that. I also hate sour stuff.

Twosome: Baby-- back ribs? ...or steak? Tofu? Chicken? It's your choice; what would you like for your next meal "out"?

Eh, I was hoping to have some chips today at the Christmas Party, but no joy there, lame. Not in the mood for take out food, so eh.

Threesome: James-- town flood? What do flood your mashed potatoes with, gravy or butter? ...or do you like them plain?

Plain, plain plain! My father likes to put parsley in mashed potatoes, which frankly is gross to me, so I'm not going there.

Friday Memes aren't up yet, so I'm gonna go off and work on my story some more and bemoan my right thumb which still bloody hurts. Is there no relief?!

11:22pm: Well, I be tired since I got up early for what turned out to be no reason. That being the case, I shall Meme then turn in.

Meme Time! )

Also got some words done on my GIII sotry...ah dear GIII, you crazy kid. I've probably made him to articulate though, since he was considered a pretty clumsy student. Oh well, since I don't know how damn tenses work either I can probably keep up with him in that department.

Shoulder is feeling slightly better, it only hurts when I look to the right now, hopefully all will be well tomorrow so I can pick up M and maybe even pop by and visit Zep and/or Ben. Must not fogeting the video for M.

In other news, I'm watching Air Crash Investigation and apparently the neglected to check under seats in planes until after a terrorist bomb went off and killed a man. What the Hell? I would have thought that was a pretty obvious thing to do...just incase you know, a kid put something gross under there.
