anonymoose_au: (Playin' Around)
You know it's been quite a while since I've seen any of my friends...they've all been so busy with work/uni and I've kept getting sick or just been too damn lazy...anyway, this all came to an end when at about two this afternoon my friend [livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion called! She's been very busy with her Uni course and all, so I was happy to hear from her and accept the invite over to her place for dinner. She'd also invited Zep, so it was the ol' gang back together again. :O)

I went after Church, which Dad spent a whole lot of time putting togther because this weekend is Pentecost, and since Dad is a fan of flags he brought a whole new bunch of them today, the only problem? He accidentally got another Italian flag instead of an Irish one! Possibly due to his colour blindness...sometimes he just doesn't see the different shades. Anyway, it all went off well, even the fire...either last year or the year before there was a bit of a scare when the flame accidentally set one of the altar sheets on fire! Fortunately someone put it out before it could get out of control and it ended up been kind of funny.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion had gone shopping for fresh ingredients to make spaghetti, this was great since I was just saying to Dad last night that I really wanted some pasta. I didn't actually do any of the cooking because I hinder more than help in these situations. So I played some Sims 2 and listened to their convo. Yes, I brought my laptop over, I was going to hijack someone's unsecured network, but I didn't think that was very ethical, so I didn't. Anyway, I shouldn't play Sims at other people's houses...I was going to have Mircanda get married today, but alas, when one is talking to friends and the same time one kind of gets distracted. Also, Mircanda has eaten too much somehow and now she's fat! LOL, it doesn't look too good in the Wedding Dress so I have to have her slim back down before the Big Day can happen. Fortunately, in Simland that just involves a couple of hours working out.

After a delicious dinner, we watched a really funny ep of The Glasshouse and then this DVD [livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion picked up in the US of a cartoon series based on one of Terry Pratchet's Discworld novels. The animation was a bit poor, but its really a very interesting cartoon...[livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion ended up bringing some of her Discworld books out, and I was surprised to discover Terry Pratchett looks nothing like I thought he would! Seriously, I'd always imagined him as a young Bill Gates type, he looks like a biker, LOL!

Zep was going to go home at 9:30, but she missed her bus so her father came by to pick her up, he brought along some leftover pizza from his new resturant, so [livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion and I tried a slice. It's great pizza! Or at least I'm pretty sure it is, the problem, it was waaaaaaaay to spicy for someone like me who doesn't even like pepper. Or at least the Supreme was, hopefully the ham and pineapple (which I'll order when I go) won't be so hard on the palate. Seriously, I thought my mouth was on fire, I drunk two glasses of water to get it back to normal, LOL!

It's great hanging with friends...net friends are cool, but nothing beats a good ol' face to face, voice to voice convo, I should see if Ben's got any spare time coming up, he and Zep live close to each other so if you go and see one, you can usually see the other. Although, in another month it'll be Uni holidays, which should give them some free time, although ironically I'll hopefully have a job at that point, in which case I may be harder to get a hold of then they are. ;O)

Also of interest, [livejournal.com profile] bookscorpion said I should come to New York at the end of this year! Wow! Alas, I'm not sure if I'll have enough money and beyond that, if I do get a job that'd be taking quite a bit of leave on such short notice. It also means that I can't possibly go and visitthe parental units next year when they go away for many months. Also, at the heart of all this is typical Moose anxiety regarding catching a plane by myself. Now, I know that really having my parents on board with me doesn't make it any safer, I mean what can they do? Still...it's a bit worrying!

Ah nuts, it's afer midnight now, so alas 3rd of June will remain a day without an update!

I was going to do the Memes, seeing as I missed Friday's ones, but I'm rather tired so I think I'm going to turn in, plus I can depend on Mum waking me up early (for a weekend) and I don't want to be red eyed when she does. So Memes will come tomorrow! Along with a [livejournal.com profile] mooseys_sims update I hope (though not of Mir's Wedding, because I'm running behind).

Good night all!

Indeed, at about this time, 268 years ago (give or take), good ol' G III was born 2 months early over there in Merry Ol' England. I was rather surprised to read that he'd been born so premature, yet managed to survive...maybe the doctors back then were just off in their calculations, since these are the same guys who thought you having less blood would cure what ails you.

Basically, that's all I wanted to say for this entry, so you'll have to forgive the shortness of it, but you know how it is you've got to observe the birthdays. :O)

Memes to come later.
