Ooo, That's How It Works...

11:06pm: I'm talking about swimming in the Paralymics, which I'm watching right now. I've been a bit confused since in just about ever race there's people with a wide-range of disabilities. At first I thought they were racing against different times or something, but as the commentators just explained, it has to do with how well the person can swim in the water. So sometimes the swimmer with no legs can be competitive against the swimmer with cerebal palsy.
Anyway, once again I can't believe how fast time has passed! It seems like it was only 10:30 a few minutes ago, but nope, here I am looking at 11pm. Which alas means I'll have to keep this entry rather short because the past few days I haven't got nearly enough sleep and that's gonna bite me in the butt.
I had some bad news today though in the form of my new fish, I must have done something wrong when I put him in his tank because this morning he was at the bottom of it...dead! D: I only got him on Tuesday! Makes me feel like a terrible owner! Poor Nedshenko! I have to confess I did briefly consider taking him back to the Pet shop or a refund, but unsurprisingly there's no returns. I went to the other pet shop - The Pet Barn after finishing my volunteering at the library today and bought another one, along with this stuff you can put in your tank to make sure there's not too much ammonia or whatever. I also found out that you're not meant to put the water that the fish came in into the tank as well. Damn...poor Nedshenko II.
I also forgot that the people with visual impairments usually have a guide for their events, so not only do you have to be a good runner yourself you need to find someone who can keep up with you! Which leads to the question to the guides get a medal too? Or are they more like horses at the equestrian and they get a little plaque or something?
And fun fact, the Kenyans also dominate the running for the visually impaired, although there's a Brazilian here so the ground is really getting into it. Goooo, Brazil!
Also, the guides have advertisements on their shirts, I guess they don't have the same rules, since there's nowhere near as much funding.
Come oooon, Brazil! There's only one lap to go, but the Kenyans are right behind him, gulp! Annnd one of the Kenyan' storms home like a boss, but the Brazilian guy gets a silver and that's pretty cool :O) Although it would have been nice if Brazil could have got the first gold of the games.
Right, I gotta go, so I guess it'll be a mystery for now as to what happens with the guides and medals. :OP
Tomorrow is set to be a busy day with my pyschiatrist appoint and work at the library, wish me luck!
Goodnight!
