The Dangers of a Warm Bed...

11:00pm: So, I changed my doona to the winter one yesterday so that I only had to have my electric blanket on for a few hours instead of the whole night.
The bad news that when my alarm went off this morning it was so nice and toasty instead of the chilliness of previous mornings that I let myself nod off and even though it felt like only a minute or so when I opened my eyes again almost an hour had passed! O.o
This meant that I had five minutes to get to work! An impossiblity so I had to call Mrs S to let her know I'd be late, before throwing on my clothes, having a quick breakfast of mandarin and a slice of cheese and hit the road.
Fortunately, since I live so close now I only ended up been ten minutes late, so phew! Still, quite embarrassing. I better be careful...once again we see the importance of jumping out of bed as soon as one's alarm goes off.
In other news, Mum was very pleased by how tidy my flat was, hooray! :OD Of course, I did come home right after work to do more cleaning (so I'm going to need to go to the gym tomorrow and Friday to get my two days a week in). Although I didn't just clean, I also overlocked all the seams of my shirt, even unpicking the lower hem so I could do that to stop it from fraying since if I do a rolled hem the shirt will be too short.
Then it was off to the school to help Mum with her class - and once again I cut it a bit close, I definitely need to leave no later than 2:05pm. Then it was back to my humble abode to wipe down the kitchen counters before Mum arrived with a treat - a piece of black forest cake to share, yum!
I also asked Mum when she'd next be swimming, she said tomorrow just after lunch, so I'll be going there after I finish up with Mrs S. There's an old exercise bike in the pool area so I guess I'll use that or maybe just go to the gym after I finish at the library. Who knows.
After Mum left I redid the bottom of the sleeves on my purple shirt and after reading the manual decided to give it a go with the buttons. I don't think I did it quite right, I had to do it by turning the flywheel manually rather than using the peddle, but maybe that's how it's done? The manual wasn't entirely clear on that point.
Right! Now it's quite late and even though I got extra sleep, the jury's still out on whether a person can actually build up a sleep bank.
So goodnight all!
