11:02pm: Yep! I got around to ice skating after work today, yay! :OD Of course since I finish at 2pm this means I have to fork out $20 bucks so I can skate in the first hour of the session, rather than the second. Gotta love the smooth just zamboni-ed ice though! Really feels good beneath your blades. :O)

I also decided, what the Hell, I'll buy a ticket to see the skating show again this year. I think pretty much the same people are in as last year, but they were all really cool (pun intended) so I figured I'd go for it. The only downside is it finishes at 8pm and thus it will be well and truly dark by then. I wonder if I should ask a friend of mine who lives just across the street - practically - from the Mall if I can stay over, after all I don't have work the next day. However...I pretty sure she does so I'm not sure she'd go for it. I guess I could always ask.

In other news, Operation Umbrella remains unfinished, I swear it's really hard to find a 15cm when closed umbrella. I guess maybe I should just buy it from E-Bay, although even there I still couldn't find what I was hoping for, but maybe I'm being too picky.

Anyway, I got home before the sun set, which was great! And then I went to take my washing in to find it was still damp, not good. So I've left it out there, I hope it won't get damp overnight from dew or mist though... It's supposed to get up to 27 degrees C tomorrow so I hold out hope. Probably should have bought most of it in and hung it on my clothes rack.

Also, i attempted to do the gathering stitch thing on the sewing machine, and it still didn't work, WTF? But I carefully pinned the sides, and managed to find the middle of the skirt (it's got 16 stitched parts - so I pinned the 8th one to the middle of bodice) and went from there. I haven't sewn it yet, I wonder if I should...perhaps if it looks good I can wear it tomorrow! Although if it doesn't...I be unpicking it again ewww.

And I was gonna say something else...oh yeah! I had an embarrassing overreaction yesterday - I forgot to wash my pinstriped pants with the rest of my stuff, so I hand washed them and when I took them out of the bucket I was horrified to find...the pinstripes had seemingly disappeared! How terrible! I was so put out I complained to my Plurk Pals only to find when I came out this morning...

The pinstripes were back! Obviously, the fact they weren't in a washing machine and spun meant they were so full of water the stripes just looked like they were gone. LOL, I'm silly.

On a final note before Memes, I did end up installing Windows 10, it's pretty nifty! And as it turns out despite saying you could just leave your computer to do the upgrading you did need to click on a few buttons to get it started, which explains why it failed those other times. Hmpf, I've let them know this so others won't be confuzzled, provided they actually read my feedback, LOL.

Into the Lens

1. What was your first camera like? It was pink! And used film of course, ah the old days...Used to take 2 days to get your photos developed!

2. What kinds of accessories have you purchased for a camera? Well, I didn't purchase it, but my father once got me a very nice green camera carrying case. Good times.

3. When did you last shoot photos on film, and how many rolls of unshot film do you have in your house? Man...it'd have to have been around 2002 or 03...I don't have any undeveloped rolls though, I wonder if it expires.

4. Digital photography has all kinds of advantages over film photography, but what’s better about shooting on film and having to get it developed and printed? I guess it's that you're more likely than not to actually look at the photos. I'm pretty sure I haven't looked at 30% of the photos I've taken now we've gone digital.

5. How do you manage your digital photos? Badly. :OP In all seriousness, I usually wait until my phone warns me I'm running out of space and then I move them to the MicroSD card or onto my laptop. But alas I don't really sort them unless I'm moving them for a reason and then I'll rename them and stuff. I should do that.

How Do You Do That?

1. When you draw a five-pointed star, which point do you begin with, and where do you go from there? Maaan, don't make me get a piece of paper...OK...got one. Well I draw two triangles, the one that points up first, the left. The the bottom of the upside down triangle and left again.00

2. On a typical day, in what order do you put your clothes on? Undergarments, pants or skirt/dress then top, then socks and shoes. Oh and lastly my watch.

3. When packing for an overnighter, what are you likely to pack too much of? Books probably :OP

4. How particular are you with laundry chores? I'm pretty half-assed, I like to make sure I do it on Fridays.

5. How are your bookshelves organized? By subject first, then alphabetical order or series order, if it's a series.

The (Other) Friday Five

18/3/16

1. Do you consider yourself young, old or middle aged? Despite my joking, young definitely!

2. When you think of your parents at your current age, did you consider them older than dirt? Well, my father was 35 when I was born, so I never saw him at my age. As for Mum...hmm never really thought about it...I do remember thinking 25 was old though!

.3. What were you really into when you were a kid? The Simpsons, which I still am now ;O) Although I haven't seen a new ep in ages, what's up with that? I was also really big on dolphins for a while.

4. Who was your best friend in elementary school? We have Infants and Primary school here in Australia, but to answer your question it was Natalie. She was pretty much my only friend, but she was awesome.

5. What do you bring with you everywhere you go? A book! :OD Or failing that my mobile...which will have something to read on it. ;O)

25/3/16

Today's Friday Five come from livejournal user reed_wolf, the letter F, and the Roman numeral V.

1. What's your best childhood memory? Family trip around the world in 1993! Hard to beat that. :OP

2. What was your favorite thing to do? As a kid? Well before leaving Dubbo it was jumping on the trampoline! :OD After that writing stories (man I've been failing at writing...sniff...I do make up stories in my head still...)

3. How did you feel about your siblings (or lack thereof)? I might have complained but I love my brothers and we did play together a lot.

4. How did you like elementary school (age 6-10)? Well, I did get teased quite a bit, but I did enjoy learning 'cause I'm a neeerd. :OP

5. What did you want to be when you grew up? N/A

7/4/16

These questions were written by spacefem on LJ.

1. What's an unfinished project that you should really get to finishing? Taking up the dolphin shower curtain that's strategically placed in front of my basket shelving.

2. What's something you want to finish in the next six months? I really want to make that purple collared shirt, I've got the pattern, fabric, buttons and thread...

3. What's something you've done in the last year or so that you're proud to have accomplished? Kept a job for a whole year, go me!

4. How do you make yourself do something that you don't feel like doing? With great difficulty! Honestly I probably wait until I have to do it then end up in a mad rush! I don't recommend this!

5. Is there anyone around you who's great at staying motivated, who gives you inspiration to be productive? My mother's good at that sort of thing!

Right! Once again I'm all caught up on Friday's Memes, yay! Let's see if I can get onto Saturdays and Sundays tomorrow!

I guess we'll see. ;O)

For now, I must be off! Bed calls and after my very busy day I'm super sleepy!
