It's Perfect, Lorraine!

10:09pm: OK, so it wasn't exactly perfect...especially with the zip having broken - whoops, but I got pictures and as promised I present them to you now.

The petticoat proved to be somewhat itchy...perhaps I need to put that soft fabric I originally brought when I couldn't find the dotty fabric in there, but that will need to happen on another day.
As I said I'm not sure the hair styling was worth it, although I guess it did give the general shape of Lorraine's hair, which I guess is all I can ask for with my thick hair, LOL.
Oh! And speaking of the dotty fabric, I also realised it shimmers a bit in the light, niiice.
All in all I'm very proud of it and I'm looking forward to - with any luck - making the green poka-dot dress in the not too near future.
What about you my faithful readers? What say you? Any comments would be welcome.
As for today, well...unfortunately I managed to be late to work, late enough that one of the people were looking for my phone number to call me! Not only did I leave a bit too late, I hadn't counted on the fact there was a street festival going on so the normal parking spaces were unavailable! Shiiit! Also my watch was running a bit slower than the library's one, so all in all I must have ended up being about fifteen minutes late.
But it was a good day, the Non-Fiction DVDs were half way through being rearranged so I spent most of the shift putting them to rights, in between helping the odd patron and discussing the possible council mergers with the other members of the staff. The only downside is my left quadricep area has been sore the past few days, so every time I crouched down it hurt! I hope it's not the new shoes because they're really quite comfortable despite being slightly too big for my left foot. I've tried putting tissues and cotton in the front of the left shoe, but it's just no good. Do'h.
Also, I realised while looking at the roster there that I don't have another shift there! At least not that I could see. Shame, there did seem to be open shifts, but they were all week day morning ones, which don't work for me. I hope they haven't forgot about me! (Today's shift was arranged months ago!)
But even if they have...I am reminded that I need to apply for the Library Assistant jobs at Warringah Council, they close tomorrow and I have big hopes I'll at least get a look in this time! Actually, I started answering the Selection Criteria this evening, although a few of the criteria started to worry me like experience in delivering library programs until I realised...I was looking at the wrong position description! It was for the librarian position from a few weeks ago. Whoops! I've actually applied for a Library Assistant position at the council before, so I shall go over the Selection Criteria document I've all ready written, see if anything needs to be added and send it off tomorrow.
Wish me luck!
Before I go, here's a couple of Memes don't want to get too far behind!
Friday5
Confetti
1. What animal, not normally ridden by humans, seems like it would be really fun to ride? Uh...hmm...well...for lack of anything else how about a seal? LOL, I'm sure that'd be quite a ride!
2. What’s a food you’ve always wanted to try but still haven’t? As a decidedly unadventurous sort I can't actually think of one! I fail :OP
3. What’s stuck to your refrigerator door? Some inspiration statements, a thermometre magnet with Canada, a calendar, a Daffodil Day magnet that hopes for the day when cancer is only a star sign, a magnet of the Brooklyn Bridge, a magnet from Forbes, another Canadian magnet that's holding up a postcard my parents sent me while on their trip, a magnet with the details of the local pharmacy, a sheep magnet holding the pay calendar for my carer's job and a Marge Simpson magnet holding up pay information for my carer's job.
4. Assuming your needs for food and water were taken care of, how do you think you’d do if you had to live houseless for a year? Pretty crappily, where will I sleep? How would I cope in the winter out in the cold? What about showering and stuff? Nope.
5. What geographical location that’s not already a person’s name (that you know of) would make a pretty good first name for someone? Uhh...well, Ethopia sort of has a nice ring to it.
The (Other) Friday Five
Halloween!
1. Do you like going to haunted houses? I haven't really gone to many Haunted Houses, I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat, so no I don't really like it.
2. How do you tell a good witch from a bad witch? Well, don't bad witches usually wear black rather than white? :OP There's also the physical attractiveness factor I suppose...depending on the legend.
3. What are you carving into a pumpkin this year? I've never carved a pumpkin, and I seriously doubt my ability to do so, I can barely cut carrots and cucumbers straight let alone do complex movements!
4. What's your favorite candy? Well, I do love Twirls
5. Do you have a halloween costume this year? I did! See above.
Saturday 9
:Thriller (1983):
1) In this video, Michael Jackson is transformed into a "werecat," with fangs, claws, yellow eyes and whiskers. What monster or ghoul frightened you the most? Hmm, well as a rule I don't watch scary movies so...But freaky clowns would probably scare me the most, ones with sharp teeth and crazy eyes? Brrr.
2) Michael sings that evil things that will be lurking "close to midnight." Where will you be at midnight tonight? Asleep, or at least, I should be.
3) Horror movie icon Vincent Price does the voice over on "Thriller." What's your favorite scary movie? See previous comments, I don't like scary movies.
4) Mr. Price's House of Wax, made in 1953, was one of the first 3D movies. What's the most recent 3D movie you saw? Never seen a 3D movie, I'm a bit worried that they might make me motion sick so I've never been to one.
5) Horror fans might be surprised to know that, despite his sinister image, Mr. Price enjoyed very genteel and relaxing hobbies, like cooking, gardening and painting. What would we be surprised to learn about you? Oh I dunno, I think I've seen a photo of Mr. Price who strikes me as genteel looking sort. As for something surprising about me...well, I'm pretty much an open book so I can't think of anything!
6) A Halloween tradition is the jack-o-lantern. Did you carve a pumpkin this year? See previous answer re: this.
7) According to Yahoo!, the most popular costume of Halloween 2014 was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Will you be in costume this Halloween? If not, who or what would you most like to dress up as? I will! As Lorraine Baines going to the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance :O)
.8) When you went trick or treating as a kid, did you usually wear a store-bought costume, or was it DIY? N/A, Halloween didn't become a thing in Australia until I was in my 20s.
9) When trick-or-treaters show up at your door, what candy will they get? N/A. Because of my location up in the Granny Flat, I wouldn't have got any trick or treaters even if I'd been home.
Right! Time to hit the hay! Why did I start watching an episode of Air Crash Investigation when I knew this? I guess because the Foxtel is out while the landlord switches it back to the old provider and there's nothing on the free-to-air channels. Oh well, I guess I'll stop it after the crash, before they get to the investigation part.
And I just remembered...It's NaNo time! I was going to make a start today, but I totally forgot...oh well, tomorrow!
For now, goodnight!
