3.51pm: I think there's too much dust in this room, I've been coughing, my nose has been running and now my ear is itchy...I may well have brought this on myself with my sancitimonious statements re keeping room messy. Ah, how the mighty have fallen!

Anyway, Ii'm not going over to Uncle Sam's until tomorrow, which is good, because I don't have everything together and I want to set up my tapes and so forth.

But the Church Party is still on, even though the weather is shit out there (man I've just realised I've been spelling weather incorrectly during my entire AIM convo with [livejournal.com profile] docsgirl, how embarrassing!) I hope it doesn't rain on us while we're out there...all the biscuits will go soggy and so on.

But moving right along...

Friday Five

I didn't do this one, 'cause I swear I've all ready done it! It was about growing up and what not...talk about Da je vu!

FOUR FOR FRIDAY

Q1 - Have You: Ever attempted to put together your family tree? If so, how far back were you able to go? If not, would you like to put one together?

Nope, my Grandfather has...he traced back my maternal paternal roots to the Campbell Clan in Scotland...we weren't the Head Honchos though, wouldn't you know it! As for my paternal roots I know my great-great Grandpa came from Malta and my grandmother's family traces it's roots back to Ireland. But I would like to put one together! I love Family history, which probably explained why I enjoyed making that McFly Family Tree and the History that went with it.

Q2 - Would You: Like it if first-run movies were released on DVD and/or Pay-Per-View at the same time as they are released in theatres? If so, do you think you would watch more movies at home, or would you continue to see first-run movies only in the theatre?

Hmmm...you know it's strange, going to a cinema isn't my favourite thing to do, but I think we'd be missing out on things if we never went to a movie in the theatres. Besides how else are they going to bleed our wallets dry. :OP

Q3 - Should You: See a doctor more often? If so, what's stopping you? If not, how often do you have a check-up or physical?

Er no...in fact until last year I went to the Doctor's more in three months that most people go in a year...compliants, compliants knees, ankles, back...Seeing as there's not much they can do, and I soon may not be covered for the whole cost I've cut back. Plus I've got to do all the exercises before I start complaining...I always forget to though. Do'h!

Q4 - Could You: Survive living on the streets of your town for an entire month with no access to any of your money or other assets? Why or why not?

No way! I mean with no access to money I'd have to eat out garbage cans and what not...ewww...not to mention going to the bathroom. Nope, that would be horrible, I have no survival or busking skills.

The Friday Fiver

Weekend Update

1. Any plans to watch the Super Bowl?

Don't live in the US and even if I did, I wouldn't I hate football, and those sorts of sports in general.

2. Friday or Saturday: Which is a better date night?

Don't care, never been on a date...I thought Friday at first...then I remembered I'm supposed to have a full-time job soon, so Saturday, gives the day to relaz.

3. Do you do anything special on the weekends that you don't do during the week?

As of yet, nope!

4. Where do you get your news from?

The TV...I watch four or five news broadcasts a night when I can.

Fridy Forum

1. How much do you know about black history?

Not much sadly...I know basic stuff about the Aboriginal people of Australia, and this and that about the African-Americans, but as for Africa itself I hardly know anything, and that's pretty weak.

2. Do you think black history should be apart of school curriculums?
Why or why not?

Yes it should, we learnt lots of stuff about Ancient Romans, Greeks, Americans, Europeans, etc...should be more of a world view. They're doing more Australian History in our schools, but I'm not sure how much is focused on the Aboriginal people.

3. How do you support Black History Month?

Sure...

4. Who do you think were the most influential black leaders in American
history?

Martin Luther King Jr. obviously, Rosa Parkes, and that dude from the Black Panthers, but I'm not sure if any good he did outweighs the whole violent approach.

5. How do they compare to black leaders of today?

I have no idea, 'cause I don't know of any black leaders in America today, except maybe that guy who accused the President of Racism...was that the Mayor of New Orleans? Can't remember.

What are three...

1. ... movies which you can watch over and over again?

Back to the Future, Emma
and Sense and Sensibility among others.

2. ... TV shows that you would buy a complete DVD set of, if you could?

The Simpsons, Diagnosis Murder
and Frasier

The Corrs Summer Sunshine (Might be called something else, but I can't remember), Beach Boys Endless Summer and The Pride and Prejudice Soundtrack

4. ... actors/actresses whose bad movies you can sit through from beginning to end?

I can't abide by bad movies, and it's not so much actors I love as characters soo...I did watch Charlie's Angels and Nurse Betty just to see Crispin Glover, but they weren't really that bad.

5. ... things you would never eat?

Tuna salad, quiche and oatmeal.

Friday Five

1. What is your favorite specialty restaurant (Italian, Mexican, Thai, etc.)?

Italian! Yummilicious!

2. What do you order to eat there?

Ham and Pineapple pizza or a lasagne...mmmm cheesey!

3. What is your favorite specialty food or dish to cook?

I can't cook for shit, but I do cook great terrayki chicken legs...mmmm...yummy!

4. If you could travel to the home country of your favorite specialty food, what would you do there?

Go to Venice, see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visit the Vatican, the Colossum, the Sinstine Chapel. Italy's a great place! :O)

5. What is your worst experience with a specialty food restaurant?

Well, we once went to this resturant called the Black Stump which specialises in steak...so anyway, we sat there for an entire hour and a half before our food came and it wasn't even friggin' cooked properly! Man, I was so pissed off.

Had to run off to Church before finishing this which is why I'm posting it more that three hours after I started it. The good news is, it didn't rain and I didn't even have to do that much for the party.

The bad news was on the news tonight, that ferry that sunk yesterday has resulted in a large ammount of deaths. There were 1400 people on, but not very many were found alive, the whole disaster reads like the Titanic tragedy. Captian didn't even put out the lifeboats! I also heard of a large number of deaths in Manilla, where there was a stampede, apparently a huge number of people showed up to get tickets to this game show. It seems the game show offered a large amount of prize money which was why it was so appealing. How awful :O( those poor people.

Cripes, the news can sure be depressing.

Anyway, off I go again...
