You Can Kiss Your Car Goodbye...

10:56pm: Well, I can kiss my car goodbye, rather...because I rang up about that job with helping the elderly and suffice to say when I was told that I might be required to help old people shower and that it's all casual work I was not enthusiastic at all.
Of course, Mum was most displeased with this information, but she acknowledged she might be biased so she told me to ring my Career Coach and see what she had to say about it. I didn't actually get to speak to her until later in the afternoon, but her opinion was I shouldn't be wasting my time going for jobs that I don't really want. Which gets Mum off my back, but is still kind of awkward, because technically, that's exactly what I'm supposed to do as I'm on Centrelink Benefits. If they find out I haven't accept a job that I could do, they can cut me off! Although I don't actually think I can do this job because I have no experience helping elderly people in and out of the shower.
Anyway, Mum's friend came up to speak to me this evening, which I wasn't looking forward to because she's also pushing the "Take any job" line, but she wasn't too bad about it and later she called to say she'd had a brainwave and indeed she had! One I can't believe I didn't have! Medical Data Administration is a big thing, there's a huge amount of jobs available in that area, so I'll definitely have to take a look at that! Also there's another library job available cool! So hope is not lost yet! :O)
I'm not actually sure what's going on with the car, because Mum didn't actually veto the whole thing when I told her I wasn't going for the job. Who knows...ha I could possibly try for the newspaper run thing again - since having a car would sure help there.
And despite the fact it was super cold and rainy this morning, it eventually cleared up enough for me to go out and buy some groceries, including lasagna sheets, which means I made my first lasagna here at the Granny Flat. The top got a bit burnt, but still it was most yummy! :O) Go me!
Saturday Six
1. V is for VACATION: Where's a place you'd really like to take a vacation trip if money was no object? Definitely New York! I've always wanted to go and I think it'd be super exciting! :O)
2. V is for VACILLATE: Do you consider someone who changes his opinion on something weak or wise? Depends on why they change their mind, if it's because they've found out new facts, then that's wise. If they're just doing it for popularity or whatever, then they're probably weak.
3. V is for VACUUM: As a general rule, how often should a common area, like a living room, be vacuumed? Uh, probably once a week, although admittedly I've been slacking a bit. Although it's possible when my mother dropped off the vacuum cleaner here last week she used it, so I'm not in too much trouble yet, LOL.
4. V is for VAGAS: Have you ever experience lightheadedness or actually fainted from having blood drawn or seeing blood? Yes, I have, and it was awful! I felt so nauseated I was terrified I was going to throw up. Plus the whole passing out sensation was pretty awful too and so weird, I felt like I'd dreamed the whole day and was so disorientated.
5. V is for VEXILLOLOGY: Other than the United States', which country's national flag do you like the most? I'm offended at the automatic assumption I'd like the USA's flag the best, or that I'm a US citizen. But I shall answer your question... I quite like Jamaica's flag, its bold, its bright and its got green!
6. V is for VINOLENT: What's your favourite kind of wine? I don't like wine, so N/A.
In other news, the dude who posts this meme has made it impossible to copy it on any computer, how annoying...I'll still do it though. Hmpf.
