I Can't Hear You!
Nov. 22nd, 2016 10:09 pm9:26pm: Seriously...I went swimming today at the pool that's at the Retirement Village my parents live at and as soon as I did...bam! Blockage in my right ear. I've been having a few ear issues the last few days, but it didn't seem too bad...now though I've got that horrible fullness sensation in my right ear and it suuuucks.
I put some ear drops in there, but that can take days to work, but seriously I can't imagine putting up with this for any sustained period of time. Unfortunately for me I have work tomorrow so I won't be able to get it tended to first thing. Although last time I went the doctor I saw didn't want to syringe it for me, so even if I do go nothing might happen. Dang it.
Oh well, I suppose it won't have to put up with it too long tonight because I need to go to bed very soon as Mrs S needs me to come in an hour earlier than usual tomorrow because she has to get to an appointment by 11am at the bus takes about an hour and a bit to get there. Which means I need to go to bed an hour earlier. Which is soon now because I got distracted watching Lateline on ABC (the Aussie one, not the US one), they're talking about Down's Syndrome and what happens when the pre-natal tests is positive for it. They invited a gentleman with Down's Syndrome to the show, which is nice, although it's a bit awkward to then discuss the termination of Down's Syndrome babies right in front of him! Although he seems to be level-headed about it, good for him.
Aside from the ear issue, not much else to report, although I still haven't got around to playing Sims 3 yet, but I have a good excuse! I went to the library staff meeting this morning! It was interesting and once again I was advised that I shouldn't let my fear of 12 month contracts stop me from applying to jobs with more hours. I guess they have a point...also why were we discussing my career goals at an all-staff meeting anyway?
Although there's another performance review coming up before the end of the year, which...is going to be awkward after the time issues I've been having. I better make sure I'm not late again so I don't have to explain myself!
And finally, I'm a bit worried about my car...I went to Warriewood Square after going swimming with Mum this afternoon and as I was leaving the parking lot I managed to mount a kerb and it made quite a loud noise. When I got home to take a look a chunk was missing from the front left tyre! There was no air escaping as far as I could see, but it looked pretty dodgy. I hope it doesn't suddenly burst when I'm driving around or something... I also wonder if I need new tyres...man my savings aren't going to be so healthy if I have to fork out for that.
Anywho, I gotta do my Russian before I turn in so goodnight all!
