Ooo That Mr Darcy Oooo
Oct. 25th, 2015 09:59 pm9:08pm: Yes! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pride & Prejudice mini-series UKTV is showing all five episodes, it started last week and this week's episode includes the Netherfield Ball where Mr Darcy smoulders at Lizzie and makes us - or at least me - swoon. Sadly I'm without my Mr Darcy icon which is a shame, oh well.
And Mr Collins gets the boot of course, LOL. Poor Mr Collins, he does dance terribly.
And now I've let myself get distracted by the show and the book I'm reading and I have to move my butt because I need to wash my hair, I'm doing an experiment tonight to see if I can get my hair to curl like Lorraine's as part of my costume - almost the most important part now I've all but completed the dress - and I need to put it in rollers tonight. So I'll make the rest of this pretty quick.
The Citroen wasn't a manual and it looked so green and beautiful I really felt once again that it was a sign, this time though I was wise enough to let Mum call the seller and do the talking. Suffice to say, it didn't turn out too well, primarily because the guy on the other end of the line refused to be helpful. It took Mum about ten minutes to convince him to give us the number of the mechanic who serviced the car so we could see if there were any upcoming problems. He certainly didn't want us to take the car - leaving our own with him as collateral of course - to the mechanic so he could take a look. So...even though we have the number Mum called me this evening to say she didn't think it would be worth it, the car is 12 years old after all and probably has any number of upcoming problems to fix. It's a shame, because I like the shape of Citroen's so much! But I guess since they don't have good resale value people don't sell them until they're really old - because I sure haven't seen any from after 2007 for sale online. Or maybe they stopped making them in green...
I'm also bummed as Hell because I've gone and lost my Fit Bit, it must have fallen out of my pocket sometime! I went looking for it along the road where the cars are parked and called Mum and Dad to see if it was in their house, but no sign of it can be found! It's not in my car either...and that just stinks.
Fortunately, Mum and Dad do have a spare Fit Bit and they were going to bring it by this afternoon some time, but they couldn't find it...they're going to look for it, but I'll be without one for a few days, boo.
Not to mention, my smiley face watch is broken too! It fell out of my bag yesterday and the clip broke apart. I took it to the watch maker, but he said it'd cost 15 bucks to repair it, but the watch itself only cost me 8. It now costs $9, but still...it's much cheaper. I did try and order it yesterday, but my phone was acting weird so now I'll have to call them tomorrow to see if I've been charged or what.
Right, so I'm swiftly running out of time here, so I'll do the Saturday Meme then hurry off to wash my hair, dry it a bit and put it in curlers.
Saturday 9
:It Don't Come Easy (1971):
1) This was Ringo's first big hit as a solo artist. Who is your favorite member of his old, very famous group, The Beatles? Ooo, I dunno...I quite like Ringo actually, I mean he narrated Thomas the Tank Engine and appeared in The Simpsons that's pretty damn cool.
2) In this song, Ringo sings that you have to pay your dues. Do you belong to any organizations that require you to pay dues? Well, I pay a yearly membership fee for the Australian Library and Information Association, so yeah.
3) He also sings, "you don't have to shout." When did you last raise your voice? Hmmm, well I did raise my voice a bit today to talk to my mother over the sound of traffic. But I'd be more inclined to count yesterday when I raised my voice while answering the phone at the library because the lady on the other end couldn't hear me too well. Which is a bit awkward...loud voices in a library.
4) Ringo has two piercings on each ear and one tattoo on each arm. Do you have more piercings or body art? Nope! I'd never get a tattoo, I'm too much of a wuss! And I'm not sure I could get my ears pierced without keloid scarring developing, so I won't do that.
5) Ringo gave his first wife, Maureen, a one-of-a-kind birthday gift. Frank Sinatra made a recording of "The Lady Is a Tramp" personalized to her. Tell us about one of your most memorable birthday celebrations. LOL whut? Why on Earth would you want to give your wife that song? Doesn't have the nicest connitations, does it? As for a memorable birthday of mine, my 21st which was combined with my parents 30th Wedding Anniversary and held on New Year's Eve which was pretty kick ass, despite the fact only two of my friends could attend it. But there were fireworks! Whoo!
6) Ringo appeared as Mr. Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine. He recorded the narration for the entire first season in just a week. Tell us what you did last week. See previous entries, because I can't be bothered to type all that up.
7) Ringo also did the narration for Ladybird children's books. Do you like audiobooks? Hmmm...sometimes they can be good, but on the whole I'd rather read it, then have someone read it to me. Unless, it was a famous person narrating their autobiography or something.
8) As a boy in Liverpool, Ringo loved watching American westerns. His passion for the genre is reflected in the outfit he's wearing on the sleeve for "It Don't Come Easy." Do you like cowboy movies/shows? Nah, not really.
9) You know what else don't come easy? Nine questions every week. Crazy Sam has heard it all: this meme asks too many movie questions, too many questions about sports, too many questions that sound familiar ... OK, now it's your turn. Help a tired meme mistress out. Contribute a random question that is not about movies or sports (pro or collegiate) and has never been asked before on this meme. Sam will compile these for an all-random Saturday 9 in November. That way she'll get a much-appreciated week off. Thanks for your help! Well, I guess I should post this question to the actual page, but I'd ask...What's your first memory of school. Yeah have fun with that. :OP
OK, it's about 10pm now, late to do my hair, but here I go.
Wish me luck!
Goodnight all!
