anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
10:43pm: The squeaking noise I wrote about last night, it's the new mini-exercise bike thing my parents bought, I guess it could use some oil because really how annoying!

In other news, tonight's the night, we get an extra hour of sleep, but the trade off is the sun setting at 6pm. Awww, I hate going home from work in the dark, it suuucks. But what can you do, sigh...

However, there is rather exciting news, too! My father bought a car today! One of those Chery's from China, it's a manual, which is not my cup of tea and coloured red, which is fabulous! He bought it because he has to have a few surgeries this year - one on his neck and one on both his feet which will make riding a scooter pretty much impossible. He's been hoping to get a Chery ever since they started importing them, LOL. However, I need to learn to drive it because he's going for the neck operation this Tuesday and I have to drive the car back. Man...I hope I can do it, I haven't been the best with cars lately, maybe the fact it's a manual though and having to concentrate on the gears will make things easier, LOL. Anyway, I'll be trying it out tomorrow morning, to drive to work, Dad will be coming along, so at least I'll have some report, LOL.

Not much else to report...I did get to the gym again today, yay! I was feeling lazy when I woke up, but I managed to get off my ass and do it. :O)

And now, Memes please!

:Can't Buy Me Love (1964):

50 years ago this week, The Beatles made history with this song. They became the first and only act in history to hold all 5 of the top slots in the Billboard Hot 100.

1) In this song, Beatle Paul offers to buy his girl a diamond ring. Do you wear rings? Only on special occasions really or when I used to work at the office. Although I kind of cut back on doing that because I think I must have got them too small because after wearing them I'd end up with a weird feeling in my finger.

2) This song was written by boyhood friends John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who went on to become the most successful songwriters of the 20th century. Tell us about your best friend from "the old neighborhood." Do you know where he or she is today? My first best friend was called Natalie, she was the first person to be nice to me at school - I was a weird kid. We we're in the same class in Infant's School, but when we went to Primary School - Year 3, we were split up and remained in different classes for the next three years, which sucked ass. Then when we were finally going to be in the same class again in Year 6, my family and I moved away to Sydney, which sucked even more. We remained pen pals for the next three or four years, but originally she stopped writing back :O( I did actually run into her at my University like 8 years later and we talked, but alas no great reunion happened. I have no idea what she's doing now.

3) The Ed Sullivan Theater, where the Beatles first performed to a mass American audience, is now the home of The Late Show with David Letterman. Do you have a favorite late night talk show? I do like Letterman although he doesn't seem to be on Aussie channels anymore. I also enjoyed Leno for the newspaper headlines and Conan. The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson is pretty hilarious too. But I don't as a general rule watch them.

4) In 1964, when this song became #1, one of top TV shows was My Favorite Martian. Do you believe in life on other planets? I do sort of...I'm pretty sure we'll never find them within my life time though!

5) In those days, homes had rotary dial phones, often affixed to the wall, with the receiver always tethered by a curly cord. Does your home still have a landline phone? Both my parents and I do! I have one primarily because that's the only way I can get my Foxtel. My parents have one because they're old school.

6) 1964 was the year GI Joe first appeared on toy shelves. Tell us about one of your favorite childhood toys. I liked my doll house, originally I played with it using the bears that came with it, later on though I made heaps of paper dolls, indulging in my creative side. :O) Good times, good times.

7) Ringo was the first Beatle to become a grandfather. His granddaughter, Tatia, is now a rock musician. If you were to follow your grandfather into his chosen profession, what would you be doing now? I would be in the Navy and I sure as Hell wouldn't be able to hack it!

8) Paul McCartney admits he enjoys watching MasterChef. What show do you go out of your way to catch? Air Crash Investigation for sure. Love that show, so informative.

9) The paparazzi has often caught Paul pedaling a bike around Martha's Vineyard. What's your favorite form of exercise? I enjoy what I do at the gym, the bicycle, the strider, the weights and in particular swimming, whoo!

Hmm, well meme I guess...which is good because I should get my ass to bed, because even though there is an extra hour today, I guess I should use it. :OP

Wish me luck tomorrow with the car and whatnot!
