Eeek, Falling Behind!
Nov. 2nd, 2013 11:55 pm11:00pm: It's early days, yet, but I don't want to fall too far behind! That's what happened during Camp NaNo and because of that I ended up not completing it, which was quite depressing.
However, there was much oversleeping today, I went to bed late because updating the firmware for my phone took so damn long - on the plus side it's working now, although the Wi-Fi was a bit iffy for a while - and I didn't wake up until almost noon today! Which I thing might have been too much, because I'm super sleepy now and can't concentrate much at all. Sigh!
But yeah, the phone is working well! Although I still went to the Samsung shop because the battery was draining very fast. However, it turns out you have to make an appointment to see the tech support people there, although the sales assistant was able to recalibrate the battery and discovered it was giving false readings, saying it charged when it wasn't. So, I've been charging up now, it's taken so long because I went to church and then to the gym. (Although, I did charge it a bit at church) and hey, even the micro SD card is working! Good oh.
So! Better Meme and run!
Friday
Feeling Icky
1. How do you like to be treated when you’re feeling really sick? Uh, I dunno? I guess, I like to lay down, and just be left alone so I can sleep!
2. What’s something you do when you’re really sick that doesn’t make any sense or defies conventional wisdom? well, knock on wood, I don't really get super sick all that often and I can't really think of anything I do that that's odd.
3. When was the last time you were out of commission for an extended time? Well, I did have a bad cold earlier in the year that resulted in me taking two days off work and spending most of the weekend in bed.
4. What’s the most unusual diagnosis you’ve had for an illness, if you don’t mind my asking? I don't know....I guess that parasite thing, seriously WTF?
5. When you feel you’re about to come down with something awful, what steps do you take to beat it back? Well, I've been eating mandarins, which really seems to have cut down on colds. Although it could be the gym too and I do take care to wash my hands these days.
The (Other) Friday Five
Superiffic!
1. Which super power would you have, if you could only have one: flight or invisibility? Invisibility! I think it'd be really helpful.
2. Who is your favorite, fictional super-being? I must say, I really love Gambit, he's just so cool!
3. If you could have any, one super-power, would you use it to change the world? Of course! What's the point of having a super power, if you're not gonna use it for it good.
4. Can you see yourself becoming either a "hero" or a "villain"? A hero, I hope!
5. For your secret identity, what would be your occupation of choice and why? Librarian! Because seriously, who's ever heard of a super hero moonlighting as a librarian, LOL.
Saturday 9
:Twilight Zone:
Unfamiliar with this week's featured song? Hear it here
1) This is one of the first songs to see a bump in sales after its video was shown on MTV. Do you ever watch music videos? Nah, not really, although the gym shows Channel V, sometimes I look over at it, but the new music videos aren't really my bag.
2) Golden Earring is from the Netherlands. The average life expectancy there is 79 years old. Who is the oldest person you know? I guess that would be my Grandpa, who's in quite good health at 81, but his hip has been giving him problems lately.
3) The song's composer says the song and especially the video were inspired by the 1980 book, The Bourne Identity. The espionage thriller was finally made into a movie with Matt Damon in 2002. Do you have a favorite secret agent/spy? Austin Powers, who doesn't love that guy? Oh yeah, baby!
4) The song's title comes from The Twilight Zone TV show, which ran from 1959 to 1964. Are there any old shows that you enjoy watching in reruns? I do I love Get Smart and I like watching Family Ties!
5) "All guys cheat on their girlfriends, so yeah, I forgive him." Sam heard a young woman say that into her phone as they waited in line at the drugstore. While Sam is always surprised by how much personal information people share in the public, that's not what we're concentrating on this morning. Do you think that it's true? Do all guys cheat on their girlfriends? I hope not! Because that would make them total assholes and anyone who cheats should be prepared to deal with the consequences and not make up some stupid excuse like 'Everyone else does it.'
6) Whenever Sam goes to the grocery store she picks up Snausages because her dog looks at her with sad eyes when she tries to reward him anything else. What product has your brand loyalty? Cadbury! Mmmm, chocolatey.
7) Do you have a piggy bank or a coin jar? Yes, indeed! It's a chicken bank though.
8) Sam knows that she's always supposed to wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days, but she sometimes forgets. What do you know you should do, but sometimes don't? Get to bed on time, dang it.
9) Retailers report that sales of Halloween costumes for grown-ups are strong. Since Halloween was earlier this week and there will be parties this weekend ... What's your costume for Halloween 2013? If you aren't dressing up this year, tell us about one of your favorite outfits from a Halloween gone by. Don't really do Halloween, but Pinkie Pie from last year was a very good costume if I do say so myself!
Saturday Six
1. How often do you wake up before your alarm clock goes off? Lately? Quite a bit actually, it's annoying!
2. On an average morning, how many times do you press the snooze button on your alarm clock? Just the once.
3. How many different alarm clocks do you use to make yourself wake up? One, my mobile phone.
4. What activity do you spend the most amount of time on in a normal weekday? Workin' for the Man.
5. What do you normally spend more time doing: eating, driving, using a computer or watching television? Using a computer/tablet. I probably need help.
6. If you could have an extra day of the week, how would you most likely spend it? Writing! Wheeee!
Right, forget NaNo for now, bed calls, hopefully I can get into the writing rhythm tomorrow! For now, though, goodnight!
