They CANNOT Be Serious!
Mar. 7th, 2013 10:41 pm10:14pm: So finally the big day is here! Sim City 5 and Sim 3: University Life have been released and I got my lovely shiny, new copies from EB Games today and forwent the gym so I could come home and play them.
Great right?
Well, no...first of all Sim City 5 has a requirement I didn't know of until I purchased it, namely, you have to be connected to an online server to run it. Even when you're not playing with anyone else. And seeing as the game has just come out you can see where this is going...
The servers are overloaded, I can't even play the tutorial let alone get my own Hill Valley California going! Are they fucking kidding me? I've been looking forward to this game for MONTHS the graphics look unbelievable and I can't do shit! It took a fucking hour just to install updates, why the Hell would a new game just released need updates?! Unbelievable!
As for Sims 3: University Life, I'm having the same trouble with it as I did with Supernatural namely the disc won't read, now that's probably my issue and I can download it through Origin at no extra cost so that's good, but seeing as I didn't even get around to beginning the download until quarter to 10 it would seem I'm not going to have a chance to play either game! And I'm going away from my laptop until next Wednesday! I really don't have the ability to lug it with me either. So I just spent $106 got all excited and I haven't so much as loaded up game. D:
And one last thing, this always online requirement, how much bandwidth does it take? Because in Australia we don't have unlimited bandwidth, at least not unless you want to pay through the nose for it. I only have 20Gb a month, am I going to use it all up playing my game? Because that would be even bigger suckage.
Sigh! This week is not turning out like I hoped at all! I am annoyed.
And now I have to go to bed. :O(
Booking Through Thursday
Spring Forward
Clocks change this weekend here in the US, which means one less hour to read … does anybody else begrudge that hour like I do? Wish the Powers That Be would just pick a time-frame and stick to it instead of inflicting clock-driven jet lag on an innocent public twice a year?
Hey you get that hour back in autumn, but seriously I would only let daylight savings end if they were going to stick with the sun setting later, because having it go down early? Fuck that noise.
But in answer to your question, no I don't begrudge the loss of the hour, it comes back after all.
Goodnight.
