11:04pm: Well, that is certainly a non-sequitor title (oooh, big words :OP), but heheh, funny stuff that man getting hit by football.
Tuesday TwosomeNews and such...1. In your opinion, does the news media focus more attention on good or bad news?Well, probably bad news, which is sad, but then a lot of bad stuff is going on around the world, and I'd rather know about it than not. Besides most happy stories are about saving cats from trees and stuff...which would probably be mighty boring, LOL!
2. What two things would you change about how the news is reported?Well, SBS and ABC News is pretty good, but Ch. 9 could use a bit more world news, sometimes they'll be something really important and they won't even mention it! Also are
A Current Affair and
Today Tonight considered "news" because it shouldn't.
3. Do you tend to watch the same news stations or do you change it around depending on the day?Same ones. I used to watch Sky News, but whenever I switch over there now there's some Financial show on.
4. Do you generally believe most of what the news media reports or do you tend to dismiss their reporting?Hmm...I probably do actually, which you shouldn't do because there's always bias...but then I try to get my news from more than one source so I can compare and contrast (ooh, old English test term! :OP).
5. What are your two main sources of news (local TV, national TV, Internet, newspaper, etc.)?TV and the newspaper (which I sometimes read on online.)
Wednesday Mind HumpHello! It's time for another Mind Hump. Today is Microwave Oven Day!
1. How old is your microwave oven?I dunno...it looks kind of old to me...but I can't remember if it came with the apartment or what. If so, that would make it rather new...but it really doesn't look new...
2. How many times in a day do you use your microwave oven, and what do you usually use it for?Usually once or twice during the day. The first thing I'd usually do is microwave my cheese on toast, the other times I usually use the convection oven feature.
3. What's your favorite microwavable treat?Uh, nuggets, yum!
4. Ever had a microwave disaster? Tell us about it!LOL, perhaps I should ask
missnickers :OP Seriously though, I don't think I've ever done anything that could be classified as a disaster...except the time I microwaved a pie...the damn thing fell apart and tasted like crap. Never microwaved a pie again.
Hmmm...soooo...it turns out that I'm in a bit of trouble re: Work for the Dole. Seem I misunderstood or I was misinformed about how it worked, I thought because I was doing nearly 15 hours a week of paid work I didn't need to do it, which was good because the bloody Prison Newsletter people have forgotten me. But alas, when I went to the interview at the Wesley United place, the man told me that Centrelink could take away my payment for not showing up! He also said the Wesley people should have called me up about this, but I certainly never got a call! How rude.
After that, I went personally to the place were I got the Job Capacity Assessment to sort out what was going on there, only to be told the assessment was sent to my old Jobfind place! So I went over to that place to bitch, only to find that I was no longer on their files! So I'm on nobody's files? Apparently not because I called the Job Seeker hotline and they said the Disability place should have my file so I'm going to call tomorrow...Gee...I wonder if they sent it to the wrong office...I hope not, because I'm not going all the way to Bondi to do that shit.
Having said that, tomorrow I have to go to work and make some phonecalls, I have agreed to do my Work for the Dole at the Wesley United because it seems that will involve a chair. However Mum reminded me this evening (when I picked her up from work) that there's volunteers at the airport! I should totally speak to those guys...because I think there's chairs involved too, plus it's an airport! Whoo!
Right, I better get to bed then.
