Workin' For The Weekend
Jun. 27th, 2015 11:48 pm11:16pm: Yep! I filled in for the other carer this morning, it went all right, I kind of forgot the proper order of somethings, though! Honestly, I don't know what to make of my brain sometimes, it can be so scattered!
Although, part of that could have been the result of the less than stellar sleep I got last night, my thoughts were full of the green Hyundai Getz, wondering if my parents would give me a loan. Also, I managed to do something with my doona and it ended all twisted up and thus I was not properly covered so woke up at like 5am freezing my person off. I've straightened it up now so hopefully tonight I'll sleep way better.
As for the loan, alas, it is not to be, since Dad only just got his new car it's not like there's any great need for me to get my own car, even if it is perfect for me, sniff. I can only hope against hope that I can keep saving and perhaps the car will stick around and maybe even the price will go down a little. Mum thinks I should be patient and surely a nice car will pop up eventually, but I dunno...I've never seen a green Hyundai Getz automatic, they all seemed to be manual (on top of been in WA LOL).
In other rather gross news, I seem to have developed a bit of athlete's foot on my left foot, between the little toe and the one next to it. It started hurting me just before I had to head off to church so I was kind of limping around. I bought some spray to treat it, which will hopefully work quickly! Apparently, in addition to this you're supposed to keep your shoes off to air your feet, which is the last thing one wants to do during the winter! And also wear thongs in public showers...except I hate thongs, they annoy the bit between my big toe and second toe. I think I have a pair of slip sandals though, I'll have to check that out.
Anyway, I need to head to bed as soon as I finish this entry because tomorrow is Mack's birthday party and I need to get to the Mall to get my hair straightened beforehand, the party starts at noon so ideally I need to get to the hairdresser's by ten because I also want a trim and my hair takes ages to straighten because it's so thick.
Before I go though...Memes!

The Other Side
What do non-reader friends think about your reading habits? Do they understand? Are they sympathetic? Or are they always trying to get you to “get your nose out of that book?”
Well, I don't really have non-reader friends, or if I do they don't comment, however! My parents certainly do, more so when I was younger when I was often told to "get my nose out of that book". Honestly, the attitude still confuses me to this day because the parents of my friends at the time were always telling them to read, and there I was doing it for fun. Pft, the grass is always greener...

1. What memories do you have of an old-fashioned general store? Uh...I dunno if I have any, I don't think I've patronised any old-fashioned general stores in my time. They don't really have them in Australia. There were milk bars and corner shops, and I generally remember them as been quite dark and small, but plenty of chocolate options!
2. What’s something people think incorrectly of your home state (or country) but still contains a kernel of truth? That we all talk like Steve Irwin, we don't, but we do use "mate" quite a lot and shorten people's names by adding 'o' at the end.
3. What are the major differences between you and your best (non-romantic) friend? I have more than one best friend! But probably the volume of our voices. Most of my friends have normal volume...not so much me.
4. What’s something you were the captain of? Er...gee...I dunno. I don't think I was ever captain of anything! Not even when team captains were randomly selected in PE!
5. What’s the story of your first private moment with a high-school romantic interest? N/A. :OP
The (Other) Friday Five
This week's questions are brought to you courtesy of theidolhands, the letter F, and the number 5...
Star Gazing!
1. What is your fondest memory of something related to the stars or space? Uh...scratches head...I can't really think of anything. Well maybe a group project in Year Six that involved building a model spaceship, I got on well with my team and we made a pretty good model!
2. What is a celestial body that you find particularly interesting? Saturn! First there's the rings and second the fact it's so gaseous and light it would float in a bathtub, if there was one big enough.
3. When you look at the night sky, what thoughts cross your mind? Nice, especially if it's clear and you can see the moon, To be honest though, when I was out in the country with no light pollution the number of stars I could see were positive dizzying, I didn't like that at all.
4. Have you ever seen anything weird or inexplicable up there? Nope, at least, I don't think so.
5. Would you live in space or on another planet? Maybe if I can pring my family along, but just by myself? No, I'd get way too lonely!
Right, better go now! I have to whip cream for the cupcakes I've made for Mack's birthday before I hit the hay.
For now, goodnight!
