10:52pm: I'm getting to the tail end of the big book about Russia and after what seemed to be a promising moment in 1991 the whole thing has gone down the crapper. Seriously, how can one country have so much bad luck? Although...I guess most countries in the world are pretty screwed up. Shame about Russia though, Putin certainly hasn't done it any favours in the past decade.
Moving on to something far more exciting, the interview! I'm not sure how I went though, because I suck at interviews. I'm also not entirely sure if I was late or not...the clock in the library might have said 11:20 and the interview was at 11:15, fingers crossed this won't sink me.
It was quite a rush to get there because wouldn't you know it? I made sure to bring my interview clothes all nicely placed on a coathanger only to realise...I left my backpack at home! Fuuuuck. So I had to go back to get it before driving on to Mona Vale. I was fortunate enough to get a park right in front of the library though and the JP was available right away so thank heavens for small favours!
After the interview I went to the bus depot to enquire about my beanie, there was a brief moment when looking through the lost property book that I had hope, a gray beanie was listed as having been turned in, but...alas it was not mine. I guess I can try Brookvale Depot one more time and then I'll just have to give up on it. Sniff, it was such a nice soft beanie too!
After that I went to the Mona Vale Aldi to get my cheese and then I headed back home, where I decided after talking to Mrs S this morning to see about going to the outdoor ice skating in the city. The weather was fabulous today but the forecast is for showers tomorrow and with the Dee Why Library Volunteers party on I didn't want to risk been rained out!
Luckily, there were still tickets available - plenty of them I'm sure ;O) - so I got the hot chocolate package, paid, printed out the ticket, got my skates and headed off in the car to Dee Why, where I found a parking spot so I could catch the L90 into the city.
The website had said to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the session, but as I mentioned most kids aren't on school holidays so it wasn't overly crowded. However, I did arrive to a site that wasn't too good...the Saint John's Ambulance officers were treating a girl (with her own skates) who had manged to cut up her knees something terrible. Ouch! She seemed in good spirits though.
Anyway! I didn't go to the ticket office because I was a bit confused, so I didn't get the little paper bracelet thing, but I was allowed on the ice. :OP And here's the proof, whoo! I could use a selfie stick...
There was mostly kids and a few mothers about and I enjoyed myself skating around, it's really something been outside while skating!
Right,it's rather late so I better get myself to bed right now so I don't end up missing out on my zzzs!
Goodnight all!
