An Itch I Just Can't Scratch...
Jul. 15th, 2010 11:34 pm11:10pm: Well, I'm sure you're all sick of hearing me go on about my itchiness, but I'm gonna bitch anyway. I'm taking the Claratyne but the spot on the top of my left wrist continues to itch! This is really pissing me the Hell off! Although I've suddnely realised the cream I've been putting on it is an antiseptic rather than an anti-itching cream - that might be the problem. Unfortunately, the only Calomile lotion in this house probably went off in the mid-80s!
In other news, the parental units are back! It's good to seem 'em! Although tomorrow I'll be going over to the apartment, although I'm not precisely sure when, I'll have to consult with the little bro - speaking of which I should ask him if he's got any insect bites. If so, I'm not sure what...the bedsheets will have to be washed in piping hot water I guess.
I went to the library today for the volunteering, good times! More book searching and book covering. Some day I'll get a library job...some day...
And now Memes please:
Thursday Thunks
:Kitchen Wonderland:
The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of Jupiter's third moon and the number 3,333,333.
1. Billy Mays died about a year ago. What kitchen gadgets have you bought that you've used less than three times? What are they?
I'm not sure...maybe the egg ring thing? I didn't buy it, but it's at the apartment and I rarely cook fried eggs so I guess it'd be that.
2. What celebrity would you like to shake some sense into, and why?
Eh, I don't really care...I wish Mel Gibson would go the fuck away, if I hear one more thing about him I swear I'll scream.
3. Jimmy Buffett just did on concert to benefit the victims of the Gulf. Name a Buffett song that you like.
Ah...I'm sure I've heard his songs, but be damned if I can remember the names of any of them now.
4. How did you feel about Ringo Starr turned 70?
He doesn't look 70 does he! But yeah, good for him and I liked his idea for a birthday gift, everyone linking hands and shouting 'peace'.
5. What sport do you absolute see no point in watching?
Cricket...it's just a bunch of guys throwing a ball and hitting it with a stick, it's more boring than watching paint dry!
6. Trivia time. Do you know the first names of the French twins?
Is that their last name or where they're from? Either way, no.
7. You are in the best seafood restaurant in Canada. What type of meat do you order?
Flake I suppose...or dory...I'm not sure if they'd have that, in which case I'd just take whatever plain fish they've got.
8. How far would an electric car have to go without a recharge before you'd buy one?
I don't mind the 100km ones they've got now, I don't like driving very far anyway, but it would be pretty handy if it could go 500km.
9. Did you see that a high court ruled that you can swear on regular TV? What word can you just not wait to hear?
No shit? LOL! I think here in Australia that's all ready happened because during Good News Week at least, they drop 'fuck' like it's going out of style.
10. You are in the finest steak and rib joint in Kimberville (Arizona). What seafood dish do you order?
Why would a steak and rib joint have a seafood dish?
11. What was the last concert that you attended that really sucked?
Fortunately for me, I've never attended a sucky concert, which considering the price of them is a relief!
12. What type of accent would you like to have, if you were forced to change yours?
I'd love to have an Irish accent! Those kick ass.
13. Kimber's got four kids with chicken pox. Berleen is not feeling the love today, so I was asked to host. What do you miss most when neither originator of TT is asking the questions?
Frankly I don't see much of a difference...don't remind me of chicken pox (itchy!)

Hot!
Well, folks, I don’t know about where you are, but right here, it’s HOT.
So … when you think about “hot reading,” what does that make you think of? Beach reading? Steamy romances? Books that take place in hot climates? Or cold ones?
Well, it's nicer than last week (which was bloody freezing), but you certainly wouldn't call it hot. Anywho to answer your question, hot reading to me brings to mind a popular book that's highly recommended or something that everyone's reading.
And hey since you mentioned it, those terrible romance novels too, LOL!

Looking For Work
1. Do you have a job, or are you looking for work? If you’re working, how long have you had your job? If you’re looking, how long have you been looking?
I'm looking for work, and I've been looking since last September - although for three months I had an almost full-time position and things were good. But alas, since the end of June I've been hunting and no joy.
2. How do you look for work? Do you use agencies, or other means? What are those other means? Which works the best?
Looking in newspapers, online and through a few agencies, but alas it seems to be a real hit and miss affair. I'll have to call up the agency I'm with to see if they've got anything.
3. What’s the longest that it’s taken you to find a job? What’s the shortest?
The longest, over a year - no kidding, I was getting seriously desperate...it's a bit of a worry actually because I only got that job because of family connection, I'm not sure what to do now. :O(
As for the shortest...uh I can't think, I suppose if I get a job soon that'll be the shortest wait.
Well, that's all I have to say - Le Tour is on, vive Le Tour! :OD
See you tomorrow, goodnight all!
