Happy Birthday to Meeee!

11:23pm: Yes indeed! Today was the actual day and good times were had! I managed to get my laundry done then I had to go to the library at the Mall to fill out my time sheet and also return my landlady's book and then it was off to the Macquarie Mall for ice skating!
It was a close thing, but I got there in time for the second hour and I think I did really well today! I do believe I've finally managed to learn how to do forward crossovers, hooray! Going backwards though is still beyond me, oh why oh why did whoever came up with skating decide to make everything backwards. Bloody rude if you ask me. :OP
I meant to take a photo of me skating and I could have sworn I did...but for some reason it didn't save, so you'll have to use your imagination... ;O)
After skating I went and did some shopping - it's my birthday after all - and made some very nice purchases, such as the green bra that I've had my eye on and some underwear that was as close to matching it as I could get (the bra didn't actually come with matching underwear, hmpf) and the 2016 Simpsons calendar that was only $6 as it was 70% off! Oh and an aqua coloured soap dispenser.
Then I went home and before heading out to Mum and Dad's place for dinner I attempted to make those cookies from the mix I got for Christmas. However, even after borrowing a rolling pin from my landlady it didn't not go well, the mix just stuck to the rolling pin! In the end I just sort of smoothed it down with a spatula, but when I tried to cut the biscuits out nothing doing. Eventually, I tried to separate them into circles, but after I baked them they all melted together like the last time I tried to make biscuits!
However...I discovered I was then able to use the cookie cutter to cut the cookies out, success! Unfortunately, after doing that I decided they needed a bit more baking...I had to leave before they finished and when I got back I found I was wrong. The cookies had become rock hard so I had to throw them out.
However, I didn't use the whole of the batter so I was able to make some more, and now I have eight, and a whole lot of off-cuts, which I had a taste of, I think they'll be all right so I need to call Aunt Jo tomorrow to see when I should come over.
Dinner with the parents and little bro was good, although Mum bought some weird gourmet type sausage that didn't taste like the beef sausages I enjoy at all. Boo. I did get presents though! From M & Grandpa I got 50 bucks and a book about towel folding art (oragami for towels basically), some duck patterned cupcake cases from Aunt Weed and a really nice card from Mum and Dad.
We also had mince pies, custard and cream for dessert which was very nice.
Although it's just occurred to me...I've had no birthday cake/cupcakes this year! Outrage! Although I'm currently without my beaters so...
I also did a good deed and drove my little bro home after dinner, although that meant I missed the Brisbane International Final! O.o Fed-Ex against the Sleeve (Milos Raonic) and the Sleeve won in straight sets! The Betting Agencies sure missed that one. And Fed-Ex! Can't believe he lost.
Oh! And the big bro kindly sent me an email wishing me Happy Birthday too, which was very nice. :O)
Anyway, I was going to do a meme or two, but time has got away from me and I need to go to bed.
I hope my second load of laundry will be OK hanging on the washing line it's not supposed to rain but...you never know. Fingers crossed.
And now, goodnight!
