11:29pm: The Fed-Express! He's at Wimbledon right now, playing for what could be his 8th Title! Of course, I'm not gonna be able to watch the whole thing because it's only just started and I suck at staying up late even if it's only for one night.

He's just broken serve, but who knows what's going to happen because he's up against a tough competitor! Not Nadal, but a super tall guy from Croatia who has beaten him once. So fingers and toes.

So, I'm here at Mum and Dad's place so Mum and I can watch the Final together, Mum suggested having a Wimbledon inspired supper of finger sandwiches, vanilla cupcakes with jam and cream and strawberries and cream. Very elegant! Mum took a photo of me, but it's not my best angle, LOL! I'm also wearing the Tennis T-shirt I got many years ago, hopefully it'll be good luck.

Anywho, I better make this entry quick as time is getting on and having done my Russian yet (I forgot yesterday and lost my eight day streak, boo) and my tablet battery is getting rather low.

Plus, it's not like I have much to report, I went to church, went to work, made the cupcakes and came over here.

And whoot! Fed-Ex has taken the first set, come oooon you can do it!

And now I shall wrap this up, goodnight all!

11:30pm: At the Fed-Ex/Stan the Man match! I swear it was too high or something, because never have I seen the Fed-Ex hit so many balls into the net! Never in my life!

It started out really well for Fed-Ex too! In no time at all he was two sets up! Then Stan the Man hurt his knee, had a medical time out and returned to take two games himself bringing it into the fifth set, where things continued to be edge of your seat and then finally Fed-Ex broke Stan the Man's serve and managed to win! OMG , I really hope that he can recover for the final because it'd seriously suck if after all that Fed-Ex ends up going down in straight sets!

Anywho! I've dilly-dallied on writing this entry as I got caught up in the Legends Game that's happening now, Goran Ivanisvic is there with Pat Cash vs the McEnroes! It's hilarious! Although man John McEnroe's got oooold.

But! A quick Happy Australia Day and I also figured out what happened with my cupcakes yesterday, I made a huge error in calculations and put less than half the proper amount of caster sugar in! No wonder they tasted like crap.

The ones I made this morning though were excellent! Hooray! Good eatin' for sure.

But now I must head off, bed calls and so does midnight!

11:36pm: Well, at least somewhat as I'm writing this from the little bro's apartment, or I suppose I should call it my apartment. I decided to spend the night here after bringing over some more things including the kettle and giving notice (along with Mum) at the office of the agent that manages the Granny Flat. I'm hoping to practice the drive to Mrs S's place a few times before I move in completely just before going on the cruise.

However, this means I need to wake up half an hour earlier and thus I need to be in bed half an hour earlier...so I'll pretty much have to wrap up this entry here because I'm all ready late and when I don't get enough sleep a few days in a row I tend to get sleepy and headachey. In fact I all ready have a headache now, but that could be from being a bit dehydrated. The little bro doesn't keep a jug of cold water in the fridge here!

Anywho, this night has gone quite well, with the little bro and I hanging out in the living room watching the tennis, as I wrap this us Rafa's still on court, but alas, I can't stay up to see how it ends. Also our last Australian singles player is out, boo.

Right! Really gotta head off now. I'll have a more detailed report about the apartment next time.

Oh! And I ended up buying the green backpack, because I'm worth it. :OP

11:30pm: Yes indeed! Here's the first one which Dad took of me at the ice rink down there in Canberra. I look like I know what I'm doing there, LOL! But sadly I can't keep my arms in the proper position when it comes to actually skating, which Mum pointed out to me. She thinks I should get some lessons, but I dunno, like I said they make you learn how to fall down. I don't wanna fall down.

Anywho, I felt a bit nervy skating for some reason, so I didn't have as much fun as I could have had, but it was still pretty good! Although it felt weird because the ice rink was smaller (not Olympic size I guess!) and the ceiling much lower.

The second photo is of me in front of Cockington Green where the minature village is! (Still gotta upload and shrink down those photos though) and you can see my Tuxedo shirt that Dad got me, isn't it awesome?!

In other news, and I gotta make this quick, as it happens I'm moving in with the little bro because the Canadian girl sadly decided to be flip-floppy and it was really driving him nuts. So I've all ready started to move some stuff over because the whole rush rush part of moving kills me. I wonder if the agent will be nice and let me give two weeks notice since I'm only juuust into the roll-over period, or if there's some sort of legal requirement.

Anyway, I've been distracted here because the last Aussie standing in the singles at the Aussie Open was playing and it was looking a bit nail biting, but she did it whoo!

So now, I must wrap it up and head for bed.

11:46pm: Whoopee! He's just won his first round match here at the Aussie Open! Frankly I was rather worried for a bit there...the first set was a hard one, and then in the second set he lost to his opponent, but he barreled back in the third and fourth, hooray! :OD

Speaking of Fed-Ex, I'm still waiting with baited breath for my phone to arrive, the Order Tracker still says order received, which does make me a little concerned that it won't arrive before it's off to Canberra with the parental units.

What makes it a bit more awkward is that I might have to give notice before I go. The little bro has had no luck finding a flatmate - the Russian girl didn't show up (WTF is the deal with people doing that? It's bloody rude!). There's one last possibility a Canadian girl who seems super interested, but then people might just say that kind of thing...Burg (aka the little bro) is hoping she can come by tomorrow, but if she doesn't I'll have to prepare to move. Which having driven over there today I realise will rather suck in terms of travel unless I want to hang out at my parents house a lot - which apparently they say I can do, but I dunno.

So yeah that's all up in the air...

Anyway, even though I'm not working tomorrow I need to wrap this up and hit the hay because I need to wash my car, I was going to do it this evening when I got back from Burg's apartment, but I had a headache and it was still hot so I didn't. Although apparently it's meant to be even hotter tomorrow... But I have to do other stuff too so yeah.

At least I got my Russian done today, go me.

But I have some unfortunate news...Plushenko the Fish didn't make it. :O( RIP, you were a good little fishy.

11:08pm: Operation Move On Out is underway, this evening after dinner at the parentals Mum came over to help me dismantle the bed, although that did unfortunately mean she saw the state of my bedroom area in here, which is even worse than usual because I emptied one of my tubs on the floor. Oh dear, oh dear.

However, I think it's all gonna turn out OK...although the dust in there has left my poor eyes all dry, it's really rather uncomfortable, but considering that dry eyes is a side effect I get when I take hayfever medicine I assume taking one will do nothing for my current predicament.

In other news the Aussie Open Men's Final was tonight, the Joker won for the sixth time! And they're jut recapping the match...a match that literally stopped like ten minutes ago. Admittedly I missed the first set so this is good for me, but for people who've just seen the whole thing it must be a little annoying. This seems to be a sad indictament of people's memory...or maybe we just like to relive stuff.

The loss was sad for Andy Murray, who's tried five times now to win, but no luck yet. His wife is going to give birth soon, so hey he's got something big to look forward to.

Anyway, back to the moving, I've taken all my clothes out of the wardrobe along with the ones I've put in baskets and moved them near the front door, which means I need to get my butt to bed so I can take it down to the car and not be late for work! Because I've fallen into some seriously bad habits in that regard and I'm going to get my ass kicked if I keep doing that.

The man is coming to pick up the bed frame tomorrow, which means I need to get the legs and and the second of the two mattresses over there as well...hmmm, not sure if I'll be able to take all the clothes over then. Maybe I'll need to make two trips.

Eh, I'll figure it out later, for now though, goodnight!

11:07pm: Operation Move is underway! Well...not exactly, it was more like Operation Buy Some Good 2nd Hand Furniture and Pay the Bond today. After finishing work at Belrose Library I headed down to the Brookvale Vinnies where I met up with Mum and we went hunting for good deals.

And we found them! There was a rocking chair almost exactly like the one that's in the flat all ready except it has white cushions and white footstool - although that's missing some screws that need to be replaced.

Then we found an entertainment unit, well it's actually a buffet bar, there were quite a few entertainment units but none of them were quite right. This one though fit all the necessary specifications except the doors were a bit wonky, it turned out the problem was whoever put them on screwed the hinges too tightly, but one of the nice men working there fixed them up.

We also found a cabinet with a glass door which can act as a display cabinet, which is cool because I've got stuff I want to put on display!

But the real surprise find was the half-wardrobe half-dresser complete with mirror. Cool! And handy since there's all ready a small wardrobe in the granny flat already.

Finally, there's the blanket chest, it's pretty retro and has a nice green cushioned top, although I felt a bit bad because just as we were going over to put the sold sticker on it another couple was looking at it rather excitedly. But alas...

We moved the chair, the cabinet and the chest over to the granny flat after that - Mum had brought Dad's SUV along so she could take the chair and chest and I managed to get the cabinet into my little Mazda.

I used the Sat Nav to get me there and it sent me a rather bizarre way, I think I'll select the easiest route next time because it took me through some very twisty roads.

Anyway, we got the stuff into the flat, but there's still the question of my bed which is too long to fit in Dad's SUV, Mum suggested calling the man who is going to deliver the wardrobe and entertainment unit and asking if he can swing by Cromer to get it (providing we bring it down all the stairs), I'm not sure how likely that is to work, I still thought we should try and hire a van, but Mum thinks that'll be way too expensive. I dunno though. Also, the landlords have left one of their cars in the driveway in a rather inconvienent spot to get a bed past, but Mum is sure a professional can do it. I've texted the moving guy but he hasn't got back to me yet. Not sure what we'll do if he doesn't...Dad doesn't want to borrow the ute from school and my brother doesn't want to ask his friend for his ute either.

I'll keep you updated.

In the meantime I've made a start on my clothes, I've put the winter ones in a tub to be taken to M and Grandpa's garage and I've put everything that's not a skirt, dress, suit, jacket, business shirt or costume in baskets in preparation to put them in the drawers. I think I've gotten dust up my nose though because now I'm sniffling, damn.

And in tennis news a big surprise tonight, Serena Williams was beaten in 3 sets by the German Angelique Kerber! It was a pretty thrilling match, Kerber has some mad court coverage, she can get from one end to the other in a flash. Undoubtedly it's what got her through. She's now moved up from 7 to number 2 in the world. Nice.

Before I go I better do a meme or two: )

Right now I'll be off. More work tomorrow and packing...and undoing the bed probably, wish me luck.

Oh yeah and I just remembered...I forgot my lunchbox and mobile phone charger at work! Mum is going to collect them tomorrow hopefully, but seriously me...major fail.

11:08pm: Well, with Roger out I'm now supporting the Sleeve (aka Milos Raonic), the good news is, he's 2 sets to 1 against Andy Murray. The bad news is he's hurt himself so he's not playing as well as he could be and if Murray wins this set they'll go to a fifth and I'm not sure how long the Sleeve can keep it going.

In other news...I officially signed the lease document today! I'm going to start moving stuff very soon - probably Monday, but after work tomorrow Mum and I are going to the Vinnies to see about furniture. Which means I won't be able to skating tomorrow, booo! On the other hand my lower abdomen has been a real ass these past couple of days. Which is quite a disappointed to me, I have to wonder if once again I'm eating something wrong. It better not be that weird stomach thing again, I'm not taking those horrid antibotics again, OMG they're terrible.

Oh dear...the match has gone to a fifth set and the Sleeve isn't looking very good right now. Poor Sleeve.

Anyway, regarding the new place, the only downside is that they're offering a six month lease initially and there's the possibility that they may move their son into the flat after that, so I might need to pack up and move again. Bah. I really must cut down on my belongings, although I still maintain that I don't own that much. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Sleeve is having some trouble...he lost on serve, but he's trying to claw back in. Only problem with that is if he does win will he be in any state to challenge Joko? I guess it depends on what the injury is, maybe some ice and Voltren will make it right. I'm not gonna know though because I have to go to bed because work calls again tomorrow.

But seriously what's with my guys not getting through?

Anyway, I was going to do some Memes, but I probably should hit the hay, make sure I get enough sleep.

However! I do have good news, Henri LeConte managed to win his mixed doubles match last night, yay! :OD I'm just disappointed I missed the hilarity.

11:25pm: Or have your father bring them out - as I've mentioned previously he does love to buy various stuff with the Aussie flag on it - cups, plates, clothes, etc. Even socks! I wore a pair when I went to work for Mrs S, a nice touch I thought! I briefly considered wearing my Australian flag shirt, but I decided not to risk it in case I spilt something on it or something.

I ended up being a bit longer at Mrs S's then planned - usually on a public holiday I do two hours, but because the weather had still be crappy yesterday - it was very nice today! - they hadn't been able to set up for the guest who was coming for Australia Day.

I was a bit worried because my friend was coming to the party and I thought it'd probably be awkward if she showed up and I wasn't there to hang out with! Fortunately, I got back in time although she came with her parents and seemed fine talking to other people when Mum called me in to help bring out food or whatever every so often. :OP

My friend's mother brought along a lammington cake, which was absolutely delicious! :OD As was the mini-sausages, and Australian shaped patties - with the accompanying bread rolls and the salad. Although there was a lack of beef...Dad said it was because Australia got rich off the sheep's back - although that doesn't explain the pork sausages. :OP

As I said, the weather turned out way better than forecast, it was overcast, but no rain, so yay.

And the party ended in time for me to see the start of Roger Federer's quarter final match! He ended up winning in straight sets so I actually missed the end of it because I drove home at the end of the second set and made a quick detour to take a look at the street where the other apartment I'm planning to inspect with Mum tomorrow is. I'm a bit worried because not only is the street narrow as Hell, there wasn't a parking spot to be seen! O.o Maybe that was just because Australia Day, but if I do go for that one what am I meant to do if there's no parking spot?

Ah well, it's a bit late to not go to the inspection that's set up tomorrow at 5pm, although it sounded like it was kind of a general inspection. I still think it might be worth looking at an apartment on the same street that does have a car spot, but Mum thinks two is enough for now.

Hmpf, I still feel like I should go sooner rather than later because you snooze, you lose and all that. Plus, the landlords look set to sell their apartment, which means they'll have money to do up the Granny Flat and will want the place measured and shit. Even if I was the neatest person in the world I don't really like the idea of random people just wandering through my living space.

So, we'll see what happens! In the meantime having seen how late it is I've got to haul ass to bed!

Tomorrow's going to be busy so wish me luck in all my endeavours!

11:26pm: Yes indeed, right now the Round 4 match between Madison Keyes and the Chinese tennis player Shuai Zhang who until this tournament hadn't been able to win a match. However! Keyes seems to be rather injured, but nevertheless is plugging on...and Shuai needs to win this set to stay in thd game.

Although it brings up an interesting question even though Keyes might be well placed to win this round, it seems somewhat unlikely she could play the next. Is it fair then for her to keep going and cost her opponent a chance to continue? Then again, sport is sport and lots of people said the same thing about Plushy, although that was kind of different. The commentator did say threat there'd be 24 hours between matches and the physio can work wonders.

Well, Shuai got the second set so now it's gone to a third and Madison is hanging on, but I'm starting to worry for her, she looks like she could really do herself some harm. But apparently only the player can decide to withdraw, unless their leg complete gave out I guess? Ouch.

On a lighter note same sports outfit syndrome has struck again! I think they're all Nike outfits, they must have had a sale. :OP

Now, I don't need to get up as early as usual tomorrow (it's a public holiday) but I don't want to stay up too late so I'll wrap this up here.

Not much else to sat anyway although I'm at the parental abode here since I came over to talk possible rentals with Mum, no decisions made yet. But I did see something very promising with a Lock Up Garage and everything!

I'll keep you posted for now, goodnight!

11:18pm: Look at the time! I'm supposed to be asleep in two minutes! Which even if I wrapped this up right now would be an impossibility.

But I really should be working on catching u on my zzzs, I was still tired today even though I got my 8 hours. So rude.

Also I'm concerned that I seem to have lost a library book...I really hope I left in the library because I've searched my flat and my car and it's nowhere to be seen! I don't want to have to pay to replace it, the cost is outrageous lemme tell you.

And my subject heading could also apply to women's tennis, our last Aussie hope lost tonight, after a stunning first set! Damn, what a shame.

Oh well, Fed-Ex is on now, and I think he'll be OK, go you good thing!

In other news, I think my guts have finally decided to settle down, knock on wood, it happened about midway through the day much to my relief. Hopefully this will continue because I got stuff to do!

10:54pm: Yes indeed, tonight Li'l Lleyton retired after losing his second round match to Spaniard David Ferrer in straight sets. Sniff, farewell Li'l Lleyton it was a great 20 years! I'll miss you! Especially since the current crop of Aussie men just aren't up to muster, and a lot of them are just plain bad sports. :OP

Although! There was an Aussie I'd never heard of playing today too, John Millman and he won his match and is through to the third round! I've never heard of him, but apparently he's been on the circuit for ten years, just goes to show how much I know. :OP But it was funny because his opponent was wearing green and gold, which are Australia's colours! Or South Africa's, but this guy was neither, he was from the Netherlands. Confusing. Anyway, it looks like he might end up playing an Aussie next round, Bernard Tomic, who has quite the reputation of being an ass. Either way good luck to him!

In other news, I finally cleaned the flat today! I got the kick in the rear I needed in the form of a text message from my landlady who said there was someone coming today to measure the place for cladding, now I'm pretty sure cladding is exclusively for the outside of the building, but the landlady said to make sure the place is clean, so that's what I did! It wouldn't pass Mum's standards, but I'd give it a 5 on my Sims scale. The only problem is the our paper recycling bin has disappeared, the wheels had fallen off so I guess the council took it away because it was damaged. Do'h.

Also of interest, I set up the overlocker today and I even managed to thread it, there's a nice instructive panel on the inside of the case. However, most unfortunately one of the two needles keeps falling out, damn. I put it back in once, but it just fell out again. Man, I need the manual, but it's missing...and the only ones I can find online you need to pay for.

And I see it's past eleven, so I better head off now, zzzzs are needed, I'm trying to get back to 8 hours a night.

I'm taping Li'l Lleyton's final press conference - although I missed the first part of it - I'll have to watch that tomorrow though and I did my Russian all ready, yay.

10:43pm: Who's the Bag? Macros Baghdatis! Man, I haven't seen him in years, but he's still alive and kicking. Although he's dropped way down the rankings to 85 so I'm not sure his chances are all that good and I probably won't get the chance to see it because I have to go to bed ASAP, tomorrow I need to start work at 8am and I want to be well-rested.

I made myself worry a bit the morning when I miscounted and thought I'd been only getting about 6 hours and 45 minutes worth of sleep instead of about 7 hours and 45 minutes. Fortunately that was just my terrible maths skills, but all the same I'm not actually getting those 7 hours and 45 minutes because I keep going to bed too late.

Anyway, today was the usual type of day, work at Mrs S's then work at the library. The weather was very nice today so it was a bit of a shame that I wasn't able to go out and enjoy it, although I'm not sure what I would have actually done...

I also almost went and saw one of the Granny Flats that I saw advertised yesterday, because it's a pretty good deal with bills included and everything, however I spoke to Mum who pointed out that my financial prospects will be much better when I finish paying the car off in early May. I did the sums and that's quite true, so perhaps I will wait until then and just pull my thumb out and keep the place clean. Although I'm still dragging my feet on that, I really need to get on that.

But as I said, not tonight! Instead I'll be crossing my fingers for the Bag and hoping I can do my Russian revision quickly!

11:23pm: Yes indeed! Today was the actual day and good times were had! I managed to get my laundry done then I had to go to the library at the Mall to fill out my time sheet and also return my landlady's book and then it was off to the Macquarie Mall for ice skating!

It was a close thing, but I got there in time for the second hour and I think I did really well today! I do believe I've finally managed to learn how to do forward crossovers, hooray! Going backwards though is still beyond me, oh why oh why did whoever came up with skating decide to make everything backwards. Bloody rude if you ask me. :OP

I meant to take a photo of me skating and I could have sworn I did...but for some reason it didn't save, so you'll have to use your imagination... ;O)

After skating I went and did some shopping - it's my birthday after all - and made some very nice purchases, such as the green bra that I've had my eye on and some underwear that was as close to matching it as I could get (the bra didn't actually come with matching underwear, hmpf) and the 2016 Simpsons calendar that was only $6 as it was 70% off! Oh and an aqua coloured soap dispenser.

Then I went home and before heading out to Mum and Dad's place for dinner I attempted to make those cookies from the mix I got for Christmas. However, even after borrowing a rolling pin from my landlady it didn't not go well, the mix just stuck to the rolling pin! In the end I just sort of smoothed it down with a spatula, but when I tried to cut the biscuits out nothing doing. Eventually, I tried to separate them into circles, but after I baked them they all melted together like the last time I tried to make biscuits!

However...I discovered I was then able to use the cookie cutter to cut the cookies out, success! Unfortunately, after doing that I decided they needed a bit more baking...I had to leave before they finished and when I got back I found I was wrong. The cookies had become rock hard so I had to throw them out.

However, I didn't use the whole of the batter so I was able to make some more, and now I have eight, and a whole lot of off-cuts, which I had a taste of, I think they'll be all right so I need to call Aunt Jo tomorrow to see when I should come over.

Dinner with the parents and little bro was good, although Mum bought some weird gourmet type sausage that didn't taste like the beef sausages I enjoy at all. Boo. I did get presents though! From M & Grandpa I got 50 bucks and a book about towel folding art (oragami for towels basically), some duck patterned cupcake cases from Aunt Weed and a really nice card from Mum and Dad.

We also had mince pies, custard and cream for dessert which was very nice.

Although it's just occurred to me...I've had no birthday cake/cupcakes this year! Outrage! Although I'm currently without my beaters so...

I also did a good deed and drove my little bro home after dinner, although that meant I missed the Brisbane International Final! O.o Fed-Ex against the Sleeve (Milos Raonic) and the Sleeve won in straight sets! The Betting Agencies sure missed that one. And Fed-Ex! Can't believe he lost.

Oh! And the big bro kindly sent me an email wishing me Happy Birthday too, which was very nice. :O)

Anyway, I was going to do a meme or two, but time has got away from me and I need to go to bed.

I hope my second load of laundry will be OK hanging on the washing line it's not supposed to rain but...you never know. Fingers crossed.

11:20pm: And that Joker is Djokovic, who went from what looked to be a possible injury that would leave him unable to play properly to kicking some major Andy Murray ass! Murray did win the set where Joker's ankle seemed to act up on him, but won the next set 6-3 and is poised to win the deciding set 6-0! What happened Murray?!

The crowd is very rowdy though, the umpire has to keep telling them to sssh!

And Joker just did it whoot! Hooray! If Fed-Ex or Green Sleeve Milos couldn't get it, I'm so happy that Joker did it! :OD He's so fun!

Ha ha, he's throwing his stuff into the crowd, including the shirt he was wearing, which I'm not sure I'd want to catch because, eww sweat.

Still, I wonder what happened to Murray, he seriously just dropped the ball, literally!

Moving on from that, went to the gym today, good times...although the swimsuit I wore under my work out clothes is rather worn out and seems to make me sweat way more then any of the others. Uncomfortable.

In other news, I really have to get off my ass and clean the flat, because wouldn't you know it? Mum's arranged to come over tomorrow and it's managed to descend into messiness again.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? You mean how old would you think I'd be? I'd say 25, LOL.

Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying probably...even though it may not feel like it when you fail!

If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? 'Cause we suck? :OP More importantly one needs money to live so...that hinders things quite a bit.

Unconscious Mutterings

Right! Better wrap this up because it's twenty minutes to midnight and I gotta pick up a few more things before I hit the hay.

11:05pm: I really hate it when they randomly decide to freak out on me, I think I must have accidentally got something in them because they feel really weird like there's grit in them or something. Ow.

In other news, I need to decide if I'm going to the Book Fair in Chatswood tomorrow, I actually thought it ended today, but apparently I can't read. Thing is, I don't actually have that much money to play around with, also I probably shouldn't be buying more books, I can fit them here in the flat, but what will happen when I go back to the apartment?

And...I just remembered I was meant to do something for my mother, whoops. Better get onto that!

In sporting news, Serena Williams beat Maria Sharapova aka the screamer at the Australian Open Final tonight, praise the Lord! Seriously, I have real trouble believing that shrieking isn't deliberate, I can never watch any match that she's in.

Also! Australia won the Football (Soccer) Asian Cup! Sweeet, I guess I am somewhat of a typical Aussie as I do enjoy hearing about Australian teams winning, even in sports I don't give a shit about. :OP

And now, Memes please!

Interruptions

1. How regularly do you get interrupted at work, and how well do you handle it? I don't work, sob, thanks for rubbing it in. :OP

2. What was the occasion the last time a TV program you were watching was interrupted by breaking news? Um...hmm...I can't really think of one. There might have been something about those fires that broke out in October because they were really unexpected.

3. Whose flow did you most recently interrupt, and what was so important? Well, I did interrupt the workshop leader quite a bit this week, I didn't mean to, but it happens...

4. How easily does your train of thought get interrupted? Eas- hmm, what's that? I can't believe it now my nose is itchy - ily.

5. What’s something in your life that could use some interrupting? My unemployment! Seriously, this is bullshit.

Saturday 9

:Papa Loved Mama (1992):

1) This song is about a trucking "accident" that was covered extensively in the local paper. What's the big news story in your neighborhood? Ummm...I'm not sure, in the broader Sydney context there's the inquest to the terrorist attack in December, sad stuff.

2) The action centers around a motel. When is the last time you stayed in a hotel or motel? In mid-December when my parents and I went to Bathurst for my graduation.

3) In the song, Papa wants to surprise Mama with a bottle of wine. Do you prefer white or red? Neither, don't like wine.

4) This week's featured artist, Garth Brooks, has said that the late Chris LeDoux -- singer, sculptor and rodeo champion -- is his hero. If you had to single out someone this morning as your hero, who would it be? Well, I do admire Plushy a whole lot. A perfect example of never giving up!

5) Before he was able to support himself as a singer, Brooks was a bouncer at a bar. Have you ever had an encounter with a bouncer (either that he threw you out or came to your aid)? Nope, don't really go to bars, not my scene.

6) According to the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Garth surpassed The Beatles as the top selling artist of the last 25 years. Whose music do you listen to more -- Garth Brooks or the The Beatles? For serious? I've never even heard of Garth Brooks! The Beatles for sure!

7) While 1992 was a banner year for Garth Brooks, it was a bad one for another country legend, Willie Nelson. Willie ended up paying the IRS more than $9,000,000. When you file your taxes, will you qualify for a refund? Or will you owe money? Oh shit, I owe money...which I haven't paid...and I really should have, but I kind of can't afford it. This is very awkward...I'll have to do something about that before I end up getting fined and having to pay even more!

8) When this song was popular in 1992, Sarah Ferguson, then the Duchess of York, was in all the papers and magazines for her controversial conduct -- including being photographed sunbathing topless with a man not her husband. Today no one seems to care much about what Sarah Ferguson does. Can you think of someone else whose fame was fleeting? Oh I don't know, she was in the news just recently defending her ex. To answer the question um...I wanted to say the Karadasian's but they're still around. Justin Beiber same story...Bummer.

9) This is Super Bowl weekend. Where will you be watching The Big Game? Not in the US and even if I was, I wouldn't be watching, football isn't my bag.

Right, better wrap this up, it's getting quite late, plus I should rest my eyes all things considered.

Goodnight all!

11:36pm: Because the unwashed dishes are stacking up again, but I hate washing up sooo much, damn annoying shit. Although my mother is thinking maybe there would be enough room to put one of those small dishwashers like I have at the apartment. This is of great interest to me...except I don't have any money so Mum and Dad would have to pick up the tab on that one.

Anyway, today it was back to the library, ah such good times! I really, really, really hope I can get interview, fingers and toes crossed! I am reminded that I need to apply for some more jobs because I have to bring my job diary thing to an appointment at Centrelink at the end of the month. Mustn't forget to keep on top of that.

Also, the gym and swimming! Which was further good times, it's been a while and I even had the good luck of the bus that goes by the house here being late so I didn't have to wait for ages or take the other bus that stops around the corner.

And in the tennis, it's going to be a final between Murray and Djokovic! Ooo I dunno who I want to win, but all I gotta say is that this is ridiculously hilarious.

Ow, also my nose has been quite irritated today, damn hayfever, I really ought to take that Horseradish and Garlic stuff, apparently my mother swears by it.

And...it's almost midnight so I best wrap this up and hit the hay, memes tomorrow, though.

Goodnight all!

11:05pm: So, the rain finally stopped, and the sky cleared up last night, however, this didn't make for warm weather, in fact I woke up at like 3am absolutely freezing! I had to get up go into my closet and get my doona out before I could get back to sleep! Very rude. I guess the lack of cloud cover allowed what warmth there was to escape into the atmosphere. It is supposed to warm up over the weekend though, which is good to hear.

In other news, today was the last day of the workshop, where we looked at interview questions and what not, which is actually something I'm deeply interested in because interviews are the bane of my existence I swear. But I've got a lot of good advice, so that's great! I hope I'll be able to use if when the time comes for my next interview.

Alas, we kind of ran out of time so the person running the workshop wasn't able to go over our resumes in much detail, she did look over mine though and sent me a document that describes the jobs I'm going for and may well contain those all important keywords.

However! I did notice, when we were looking over my resume briefly that I hadn't updated the fact I'm no longer at the newsagency, sheeeet. I've got too many resumes to keep straight, dang it. I hope that doesn't come to bite me in the ass. Come on, Council, give me an interview, I can thrill you! :OP

Speaking of which, I'm going to the library tomorrow so I better not stay up too late, luckily Andy Murray managed to win his semi-final in four sets so I can head to bed now.

Goodnight all!

11:14pm: When it comes to resume compiling, what the fuck? Now you don't have a Career Objective! And you do stick your interests in and you don't use borders, or headers and footers or dress up your resume. Oh...and don't use .pdf!

What. the. fuck?

God damnit, jobs market, tell people when shit changes! Apparently these new computer programs that big companies use to go through resumes doesn't like that and you could well end up rejected on a technicality. Bah!

And this has just reminded me that we've been asked to bring our resume in for the last day tomorrow, and I was going to change some things about mine, but now I'm too tired and can't be arsed.

In fact, I should be in bed right now, so I'll make this a short entry. I will mention that alas the one sleeved man of tennis, Canadian Milos Raonic is out of the Open. He also wore green, which made him a favourite with me! Oh well, he was beaten by Djokovic and we all love the Joker, so serve on, Joker, serve on!

And now I'm off to print my resume then hit the hay.

Goodnight all.

PS. I was glad to hear on the news that the Big Blizzard ended up not being so big! Hope you're all still warm there on the Eastern seaboard.

10:36pm: But alas there is no escape...two more days of the Resume workshop or whatever it's called. Although, I suppose I shouldn't bitch too much, since there is new information - like apparently all the big companies use these algorithms to select applicants now, so if you don't use the keywords, you might not even get your application read! Yet another thing to worry about, shiiiit.

On the plus side, so to speak, it turns out I don't have to get up extra early on Thursday because the person I was supposed to have an appointment with before the workshop isn't going to be there, so the meeting has been moved to 18th February. Well good.

This is especially good because since yesterday the it's being pissing down with rain, we've had a month's worth in two days! And it's supposed to continue all through the week! Originally it was supposed to be gone by Friday, this is especially crappy news because there's meant to be this big book sale going on in Chatswood on Saturday which I wanted to go too,but maybe it'll get washed out. Boo.

In other news, there's no Aussie's left in the singles draw at the Australian Open, which is acceptable only because the last Aussie standing has being an asshat and a bad sport, so really he needs to buy a clue and behave himself in future. Honestly, this latest group of Aussie tennis players are proving unlikeable, we need another Pat Rafter, stat.

I suppose I should get to bed because I think I'm supposed to be asleep by 11:30 lest I not get enough zzzs and end up hardly being able to keep my eyes open.

And for those of you on the US Eastern seaboard, bunker down and good luck!

Goodnight all!

PS: Internet was back on this morning, I think maybe the rain was the reason it stopped working yesterday, fingers crossed it doesn't happen again!
