Oh Nuts...

11:15pm: I seem to have lost my activity tracker...again! I know I had it this morning, but when I looked up it's location in the app it says it's in the city! More than that it says it was there four days ago, I haven't been to the city in months.

It was definitely with me this morning, ah damn where could it be? In the car? At the library? At the Save the Children charity shop I went to after I finished volunteering? Or is it in the house somewhere? I hope it's the latter but I've got a terrible feeling I might have lost it somewhere else... Ugh! Why do I fail at keeping my possessions with me? This is a serious problem.

Moving along, not much to report, although volunteering went well! I had to do some admin tasks for the Home Library Service and as I finished up the Home Library Service Co-ordinator had good news for me, one of the patrons really liked the items I selected for them. I'm always concerned about this so it's great news! I don't actually know who it is, but I shall find out next week. Cool.

In other news, I'm not sure what's going down with the fan fic, something showed up that seems to cement the timeline of Yuri on Ice and it puts it two whole years later than I thought! This kinda messed shit up, but I think I've fixed it. Then there's a whole thing about maybe I've got too much shit going on at once in one particular chapter, so I'm thinking of changing it, but I dunno...

Anyway, I better wrap this up I still need to do my Russian!

On the plus side I did get a pair of pinstripe pants at the Save the Children charity shop, which actually seem to fit. I hope!

And now I bid you all, goodnight!

11:46pm: If only to use it for this entry in order to let you all know that the Mr Burns play was really cool! If a bit strange in the way all plays seem to be. It was a comedy though with lots of funny moments despite the post apocolyptic setting. Well worth seeing! :OD

Plus it was lots of fun hanging with my aunt, uncle and cousin, after the play we went to a pub to have dinner, which took ages to come but was most delicious.

Anyway...I see that I've got no time to actually update! Tsk, they've changed the Duolingo app so now you have to do the revision in a timed manner, speed is definitely not my strong suit - which I'm sure surprises none of you. :OP

So, yeah I gotta get my butt to bed, you know what happens when I don't get my zzzs!

I'll have a more complete report of things tomorrow...I hope.

Goodnight all!

10:53pm: To always wear our seatbelt, because some petty crook just got himself killed because he crashed his car, wasn't wearing his and ended up going through the windshield. I still don't get how you can drive without a seatbelt on, how do you not slide off the seat when you have to break suddenly?

Moving on from automobile safety or lack thereof, I discovered that I didn't have work today after all, fortunately I realised this before I went there. Although I should have gone to Mona Vale today to buy a new heater for the fish tank, when I got home from Mum and Dad's this morning I discovered the temperature on the fish tank was reading well under 19 degrees. Fishenko's still swimming about, but I do worry about him.

I didn't get a chance to go shopping at all today, though I meant to after going to the gym this afternoon, however I oh so unhelpfully forgot to bring my backpack with me and thus didn't have my wallet. Do'h fail. Oh well, at least still had my homemade pizza left so I had something for dinner at least. However...I don't actually have anything for breakfast tomorrow, I discovered when I got home that my milk went off several days ago (maybe that's why I've had stomach pain the last few days...) and yeah it was getting quite cold when I got home from the gym so I didn't go down to the service station to get it.

Ugh, crap I'm trying to do my Russian but there's a phrase I'm really stuck on...and I'm running out of time, I need to get to sleep soon because I have to get to work with Mrs S fifteen minutes earlier than usual tomorrow so that means getting up earlier.

So yeah, I gotta wrap this up, LOL story of my life. :OP

11:46pm: And asleep by now because I need to get up a bit earlier than usual to get to Mrs S's place half an hour earlier than usual, but I got caught up in reading this book about the 747 and doing my Russian, so I don't have much time to update.

I had a good day! I went over to see my friend in Bigola Plateau which was fun, we hang out and shot the breeze and all that jazz. Good times, good times.

Aside from that, not much else report, I'm just waiting for Cold Case to end so I can get to bed, I haven't seen this episode before so that was pretty cool.

So, this is gonna be a short entry, so sorry about that, I'm sure you're all devastated. :OP

One last thought...when I watch my house shows a lot of people seem to buy houses furnished...is that a thing in the US? I've never heard of buying a house in Australia that's fully furnished. seems really bizzare.

On that mystery, I'm off!

9:26pm: Seriously...I went swimming today at the pool that's at the Retirement Village my parents live at and as soon as I did...bam! Blockage in my right ear. I've been having a few ear issues the last few days, but it didn't seem too bad...now though I've got that horrible fullness sensation in my right ear and it suuuucks.

I put some ear drops in there, but that can take days to work, but seriously I can't imagine putting up with this for any sustained period of time. Unfortunately for me I have work tomorrow so I won't be able to get it tended to first thing. Although last time I went the doctor I saw didn't want to syringe it for me, so even if I do go nothing might happen. Dang it.

Oh well, I suppose it won't have to put up with it too long tonight because I need to go to bed very soon as Mrs S needs me to come in an hour earlier than usual tomorrow because she has to get to an appointment by 11am at the bus takes about an hour and a bit to get there. Which means I need to go to bed an hour earlier. Which is soon now because I got distracted watching Lateline on ABC (the Aussie one, not the US one), they're talking about Down's Syndrome and what happens when the pre-natal tests is positive for it. They invited a gentleman with Down's Syndrome to the show, which is nice, although it's a bit awkward to then discuss the termination of Down's Syndrome babies right in front of him! Although he seems to be level-headed about it, good for him.

Aside from the ear issue, not much else to report, although I still haven't got around to playing Sims 3 yet, but I have a good excuse! I went to the library staff meeting this morning! It was interesting and once again I was advised that I shouldn't let my fear of 12 month contracts stop me from applying to jobs with more hours. I guess they have a point...also why were we discussing my career goals at an all-staff meeting anyway?

Although there's another performance review coming up before the end of the year, which...is going to be awkward after the time issues I've been having. I better make sure I'm not late again so I don't have to explain myself!

And finally, I'm a bit worried about my car...I went to Warriewood Square after going swimming with Mum this afternoon and as I was leaving the parking lot I managed to mount a kerb and it made quite a loud noise. When I got home to take a look a chunk was missing from the front left tyre! There was no air escaping as far as I could see, but it looked pretty dodgy. I hope it doesn't suddenly burst when I'm driving around or something... I also wonder if I need new tyres...man my savings aren't going to be so healthy if I have to fork out for that.

Anywho, I gotta do my Russian before I turn in so goodnight all!

10:15pm: Well maybe not everyone, but I sure do! I cant figure out if it's because it's nearly that time o' the month, or because the weights I lifted at the gym on Friday were too heavy or because of my new shoes. Or perhaps a combination of all three... Either way it sucks.

Although it does seem to come and go, right in the middle of work today my poor lower back was so sore I wasn't sure if I wanted to drag my butt to church, however by the time I finished I felt all right, so off I went - although Dad ended up backing out. The new priest was there, he gave a good sermon and spoke really well, which is impressive when you consider English is his third language, he was born in Africa.

Moving along, the show I'm watching called Zombie House Flipping is very amusing, I have no idea how 'real' it is, but right now the team is trying to deal with an alligator in the pool. Why they haven't just called Animal Control...

Oh! And I got the frosting for the cupcakes done this morning and even used my special frosting kit to pipe it onto the cupcakes. They looked very fancy and I got an SMS from Mrs S earlier this evening to say they went down a treat and there's some left over for me to enjoy, yaaay!

What else? Um...I did have something to say, but I wanted to finish my Russian for today (because I keep leaving it too late and end up skipping a day) and now I've totally forgotten what it was! Hmm, I suppose it mustn't have been important.

So let's do some Memes instead )

11:35pm: When you're at a friend's house! Well, maybe I could have, but I lost track of time and I had to go to bed before I got the chance.

Anywho! It was great to hang out with my friend again! We watched the new Ghostbusters movie, which I really enjoyed! I tend to think the fanboys who were complaining about it are being a bit precious, but I suppose if they made a BTTF reboot I'd probably be bitching a bit too. But eh, it was still a good movie!

My friend was a very good hostess indeed. :O) She made a delicious dinner and had ice creams in the freezer for desert. Good times! Plus the house is big so I had a proper bed to sleep in, so that was cool.

In the morning she showed me some US TV shows that I'd heard of, but never watched, Samantha Bee and John Oliver. Very amusing! Although, you have to wonder what will happen after the US Election...depending on the result there good be a whole lot of screaming and running around in horror!

And just looking at the time I can see the dreaded Duolingo practice has eaten into my post time! Honestly me!

Ah well, suffice to say after watching the TV shows with my friend, we took a quick walk around the neighbourhood and then had an even quicker lunch before heading off to Mona Vale so I could go to walk and my friend could do some shopping.

Work went very well! It was a miracle I found a parking spot because the yearly markets were on today, which also meant a huge number of books had been returned in the after-hours chute. It must have taken a good two hours to clear and check-in everything that was in there! But we managed it. I do enjoy returning books.

And...I've just remembered I totally need to apply for that one day a week job in the Local History part of Dee Why Library! Don't want to miss out on that chance.

But for now, I must get my butt to bed!

10:59pm: Because it keeps bringing up water, so on the plus side I've learned to recognise the Russian for water. Go me!

On the down side I've only just refilled my water jug so the water I have here is not as cold as I like it to be, boo. But I went and got some anyway because I'm thirsty!

Moving along, today I went to the Library for the volunteering, which went well! Actually, I felt like it took me too long to do one patron's selection, but the HLS Co-ordinators were very happy to see me, so that's cool.

I decided to take the bus, so that I could read my book, but wouldn't you know it? I didn't actually read it instead I was on my mobile instead! Derr. Although admittedly on the way home I had to stand up in the bus, which makes reading quite difficult. I was glad to get some walking in today, although it got quite warm on the walk back to the Granny Flat from the bus stop, it was supposed to reach 26 C today, however the news tells me it only got to 23, but who knows, the temperatures on the Northern Beaches can be weird.

Also, I got a bit worried when I checked my fish tank and couldn't see Plushenko anywhere! Which is impossible because I've got a lid on the tank so it's not like he could have jumped out! But peering from different angles I couldn't see him anywhere, I even took the little hatch on the lid off to look. As you can imagine I was starting to get quite confused, but as I stepped away he suddenly popped out from behind the filter. Sneaky! With his black body he can be hard to see, but after the filter propeller incident I was worried about him!

Right I'm watching Air Crash Investigation and you have to ask yourself...why would an airport not have a radar? I guess quite a few don't, but it really seems like a necessary piece of equipment to have. On the episode I'm watching a plane has crashed in the Amazon and no-one knows where it is because there's no radar to show the rescuers where they are! At least until they can set of the emergency beacon, although a party from the plane has had to go off looking for help. And as it happens the plane wasn't anywhere near where it should have been.

Radars save lives.

Okedoke, I better wrap this up, because work with Mrs S calls tomorrow.

11:36pm: I'm not sure what to do about it...I think I've got some spray but I'm not sure if it'll actually work on moths and I don't want to spray a whole heap of it around if it's not.

Moving on to Tank Update, it's cleared up a bit more and I've moved the filter further down into the water, although after going to the PetStock at Mona Vale after work with Mrs S today I thought that I'd actually put it the wrong way up in the filter holder thing and that's why it was making noise. As it turned out that was a different type of filter, I've taken the hook off so as I said it's lower in the water and it's a bit quieter now. I think that's just how it is. If things keep clearing up and the water test is good I can get a Betta fish next week. Yay.

What else to report? I did get to the gym today! Which is good because that means I've caught up there, plus it's always good to work out. Yay!

And time is getting away from me and I still need to finish my Russian so once again I'm off!

11:44pm: And by that I mean the eighth Harry Potter book, which I got as an e-book from the library and just couldn't put down once I got into Act Two. Now it was admittedly rather odd to read Harry Potter in play format, but all in all a totally awesome read. I should write a review on Goodreads, but instead I'm typing up this entry.

And that's because I'm unexpectantly staying here at the parental units's and thus have access to the internet! Having said that, I spent most of the evening reading my book, which I didn't need the net to do and thus I've kind of wasted my time here...Although I did manage to catch up on Tumblr so that's a plus, and I do have time tomorrow morning to do some more surfing.

So with midnight swiftly approaching I don't have a lot to say, except that getting the internet at the Granny Flat is proving to be an epic tale of despair then hope and then despair once more. First there was the news that Spintel could find no evidence a separate phone line ever going to my Granny Flat, then Telstra saying the had information for a Unit 1 at the same address as the main house, but no information on if it was active or not and then finally the realisation, that it is indeed an inactive line and to get it going again would cost $300.

Sucks, man.

Anyway, I should get to bed so as to wake up at a decent hour tomorrow as I really should use this internet time to do some job hunting. I'm also trying to do my Russian right now, not sure if I'll make it, but might as well give it a shot, I think I'm getting better. :O)

Oh wait no...I won't, time flies when you're concentrating on two things at once. At least I can freeze my streak so I don't have to go back to Day 1.

11:04pm: I was going to put something about job hunts, but I'm not exactly job hunting...I was just taking a look to see what was available in the library sector, since you can't depend on those "Send me all the jobs in this search" emails as I have discovered.

As it happens there's a librarian job going at Dee Why Library! This is indeed of great interest to me, although...I'm not sure I actually have all the essential criteria and could I be a librarian? I mean I'd have to go to meetings and come up with ideas about marketing strategies or whatever. Sounds a bit hard to me. :OP On the other hand, it is full-time and I'd sure be rolling in it if I got it. Then again I guess you get paid for the hard work you do.

And now Im distracted by this doco on the Chernobyl disaster, why are these nuclear technicians dressed like bakers? It's really weird...I assume that's an actual fact. Still, I maintain it's odd. :OP

I'm somewhat pleased I can understand some of the Russian that's been spoken in the reenactments, but I think that's because they're speaking slowly, LOL.

man, it's really hard for me to concentrate today, I'm not sure why, because I took my ADHD medication today...if not a little late. Which you think would mean it was still acting, but nope. I guess it might also have to do with trying to apply for this university library assistant job, bloody essential criteria, Ialways feel like I'm half-assing it or repeating myself, or saying the wrong thing. Maybe I should do that "Preparing for Change - Applying for Jobs" thing the council keeps advertising in preparation for the amalgamations. It's not that unlikely they'll have better advice then the Job Search place recommended by Centrelink.

Oo! House Hunters International is on, so I've turned over to that, although I can't say I think it a good idea to move to the Middle East, as a woman and all. I mean I'd have to wear long pants even in 50 degree weather and more than likely be unable to go out by myself. Nuts to that. Not that I'd even go so far way from family and friends, LOL.

Before I head off, here's a Meme!

Survey 212 Meme

Stolen from: i take surveys

1. Is your birth year an odd or even number?: Even! Which is good because I don't much care for odd numbers.

2. Which one of your friends is the most outgoing?: Uh...hmm...I'm not sure to be honest? Micki, I guess, though I don't see her that much since she moved to Queensland.

3. Have you eaten any of your favorite foods today?: Yep! Cheese and chocolate.

4. When did you last find yourself in an awkward situation?: Uh...hmm...I dunno.

5. When was the last time you ignored, or went against, someone’s advice?: Gee, I dunno, I usually follow people's advice because I'm so terrible at making decisions.

6. What happened?: Well, I seem to recall buying something that turned out to be a bad deal. Not sure what it was now, not my car, I think it was something small.

7. How many different towns/cities have you lived in?: Hmmm, 4 and a bit - the bit being the time the family spent in Birmingham.

8. When was the last time you had Nutella?: GASP! Just last week! And I probably need to give it up again, the damn stuff is just too addictive.

9. Who is your favorite character in“The Big Bang Theory”?: Haven't really watched it all that much...I kind of like Penny, from what I've seen though.

10. What are your parents’ middle names?: Mum's is Mary and Dad's is Michael.

11. Name someone with a sexy sounding voice.: Alan Rickman RIP :O(

12. Are your eyes the same color as your sibling’s?: No actually, I'm the only one of the kids to have brown eyes - my brother's both have blue eyes. Once again that gene square we learned about in science oversimplified things!

13. How many pets do you have? Would you like any more?: I have one fish, Nedshenko, who I haven't fed in a couple of days...better do it now!

14. Is there a song you can’t stop listening to atm?: Nah.

15. Is there a song that you’re fed up of hearing?: Hmmm...I don't think so, but I usually listen only to music I like LOL.

16. Did you have a strange or interesting dream last night?: I did! At one point I was running around a city in Japan for some reason...

17. Name 3 things that are in your refrigerator atm.: Ham, margarine and grapes.

18. Which friend do you confide in most?: Hmm [personal profile] isleofapples I guess. :O)

19. What was your most recent reason for smiling? I'm generally a smiley person, it was probably something cute on the internet. :O)

Right! Better be off now, once again I managed to spend most of the day lazing around, tomorrow though! I have to go out and about for SRE and all that jazz.

11:44pm: Which is pretty much my motto, especially since time seems to suddenly go super fast once 10pm rolls around. What's up with that? I know I've mentioned this before, but it's very annoying.

Anyway, I gotta make this quick and short because I'm trying to wrap up my Russian learning before midnight. Because otherwise I'll give up on my learning streak!

Anyway, it was a busy day because I lounged around in bed for ages and then there was my afternoon shift at work. That went well! Although it was super quiet in the library, apparently it always is on Fridays, that's the first time I've worked that shift.

Then when I got home I had to do my laundry - I decided not to do it in the morning after all - and hang it on the line in the dark, but it wasn't too bad and it's done. :O) Hopefully it won't get dewy overnight, because that would seriously piss me off.

OK, I managed to finish my Russian, but there's really no time to do anything else! Although I'll quickly mention my Plushy Plush, the skates still fell off, so I bought some extra-grip super glue. I'm also making yet another body, because I needed to do it on the sewing machine, so it doesn't end up with holes between the stitching.

Anyway, better run now!

10:58pm: The Plushy fan club has fallen down on the job! The domain has expired! And now the message board has disappeared! O.o Hopefully, it actually hasn't disappeared forever, but I sure hope they fix it quick, how else can keep up with my Plushy news :OP

Moving on to non-Plushy related matters...I went to the gym after Mrs S's today, figuring that I'd have enough time before I had to start work at the Mall Library, and I did make it...except I had to fork out 5 bucks for parking because there wasn't enough time to find a free parking spot on the street, do'h!

Work was good though, in preparation for Easter there's a raffle going on and the prize is a 1kg Lindt chocolate bunny! It's huge! Although as a member of staff I can't actually win it, although there is a prize for getting people to enter, but I'm no good at bringing up stuff to patrons, plus I only work one or two days a week so that probably won't happen. :OP

Also, unrelated to anything at all really - except the chocolate connnection - my co-worker helped me learn to say Fererro Roche, which is a bit of shame because there goes my comedy act! Although, she did bring up a good question...why was able to say Ferrari but not Fererro or Ferer (the Spanish tennis player), the answer is...I dunno.

And, I let myself get distracted by the TV and now I must go...at least I got some more dubbing done today and also I've all ready done my Russian for today, yay!

I have to get up half an hour earlier tomorrow because Mrs S needs to leave at 10am so I'm already behind on zzzs here!

10:22pm: For some reason the 9Life isn't just about houses and instead is showing some bullshit about Real Housewives... of somewhere and I've switched over to the ABC, but as usual Q and A has turned into a slagging match. Meanwhile I'm just waiting for Lateline to come on, because I didn't manage to watch the news earlier on because I was back on the video dubbing.

Anyway! It's been a very busy day, but I finally did it! I finally got to go ice skating! Man it's been aaages! I also went at the start of the session instead of at the end and the ice was so nice and smooooth. I guess it's worth 20 bucks to have such a nice surface.

Speaking of skating, apparently Plushy has managed to hurt himself, although I don't know what...he's still able to skate though so I guess it mustn't be anything too serious, but still, be carefully Plushy!

After the ice skating I ended up having to drive back home via Mum and Dad's house because I left a book I was reading behind when I went there after going to work, and ended up having lunch with Mum there. Also she needed me to get another key to the Granny Flat because she managed to lose the one I gave her, so I dropped that off too and said 'hello' to Dad as well.

What else to report? Well, I haven't got around to practicing my Russian for today! So I need to do that and get to bed at the proper hour. :O) Sorry about the short entry though!

11:44pm: Hmpf, spell it like it sounds my ass. That's what I've heard about Russian, that unlike the horror that is English, there's no surprises when it comes to spelling, but that's a load of bullshit. When 'a's sound like 'o's or sometimes 'u's good luck figuring out how to spell the damn word when listening to it.

But I suppose that's true of all languages...Man, I wonder if I'll possibly ever learn too read it at least a little.

Anyway, it wasn't the greatest start to today, I definitely need to wake up earlier because I left for work late and I think as a result I had a bit of a panic attack while driving which of course, meant that I ended up being even later. Because panic attacks like to pull that bullshit on you...panic for no reason huh?Well, now you got one.

Anyway, I had to call Mum fortunately she was able to calm me down enough so I could I actually keep driving, for a few minutes there I thought I wasn't going to be able to and would need to get her to come and get me.

So I got to work 15 minutes late, which is totally not a good look...and I didn't really want to tell them about the panic issue because that'd require a whole lot of bruhaha. But I also found out something not too good at all when I was asking about what phone number to call if I'm running late in the future...apparently there's only two staff who are full-time there! The rest are all part-time! The fuck? So basically I'll never get full-time work there. God damn casualisation of the work force, once again society has let me down.

Right, I hoping to go ice skating tomorrow so I better head off and get some shut eye, I want to be well-rested!

11:24pm: I'm watching a show called Front of House which involves some designers coming over and changing the front of your house to make it all eyepopping and what not.

They seem to be obsessed with mega-size stencils and bright bold colours, which makes me wonder...do the neighbours ever take issue with it? Or do they make sure to clear it with them first? Because imagine if the TV show went to all that trouble just so the council could come in and tell them to change everything back. Or what if you don't actually like the changes they made? Will they change it back then?

I guess since it's usually friends or family calling up to enter you into these things they'd have a decent idea of what you'd go for. Still, it's a bit of a risk I should think!

Anyway! It's later than I thought, because I've got all caught up in this book I'm reading. It's a young adult novel about some pair skaters, secret relationships and all that jazz. One can see the ending coming a mile away, but I'm still enjoying it! :OP

Besides there's not a lot to report, except that I had a somewhat unpleasant experience at the library when someone from the other branch called and practically abused me over the phone because I did the wrong thing with a book club kit reservation. Seriously whoever it was was a complete bitch, snapping at me and all but calling me an idiot, then hanging up on me. I felt like calling back and telling her exactly what I thought of her, well either that or cry. I didn't do either, but I did complain to my co-worker who was surprised and sympathetic. I was even more put out when I discovered that the proper procedure requires one to call the branch to ask them to send over the book club kit, be damned if I was going to do that though!

My co-worker was nice enough to do so, and then the final kick in the pants, the book club kit in question is missing! Apparently it was ruined in a roof leak, but no-one knows for sure. So the whole thing was just a fuck up all around. I still can't believe the person was so rude to me, though, who the Hell does she think she is? I'm a casual so excuse me if I didn't get the email about the procedure, which is basically counterintutive to every other procedure in the place. I'm almost tempted to complain to the Head Honcho, but I suppose whoever it is could have been having an off-day...shouldn't make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Right! I gotta dash because it'll be midnight soon and I haven't done my Russian for today yet!

I bid you all goodnight!

10:45pm: So I'm trying to do my Russian study, but I'm attempting to strenghten my skills on the genetive case and I swear to God I'm getting nowhere. We don't have cases in English, at least not that I recall, or if we do we don't have to change the endings six times depending on who has what or where it was, blah blah blah. Very irritating. And don't get my started on the listen and write what you hear bits...why do 'a' and 'o' sound the same in some words?! Who's responsible for that? Big oversight if you ask me.

Anyway, moving on from that, it doesn't look as if the skates I got are going to be of any use, I rang the skate shop about it, and the guy said the blades can only really be changed if they're the same lenght and brand, which they aren't. Boo. Oh well, at least it was only ten bucks.

Also...I took the Santas to Jaycar after going to the gym, but it would seem the solar panel mechanism itself has gone kaput, so now I have to hope that the Battery place will take the batteries back...except I can't find the receipt. Crap.

I did though find the Sloth PJ top at KMart which I visited after work with Mrs. S. Heh, I don't have a picture yet, but I'll get round to it.

Speaking of getting round to stuff...I have to get to Mrs S's half an hour earlier than usual tomorrow, so I'll only do this quick Meme before I hit the hay.

Sunday Stealing

This Year Meme

Stolen from: Hubpages

This Year:
A bad habit I'm going to break:
Leaving my house a mess (progress on this so far is not good)

A new skill I'd like to learn: Uh...Russian? Or at least a bit of it?

A person I'd like to be more like: Can't think of anyone as I'm properly best served as being me. :OP

A good deed I'm going to do: Volunteer at the library maybe? Depends on how much time I have.

A place I'd like to visit: Gee...I dunno. I don't feel like travelling much.

A book I'd like to read: That huge fictional book about Russia that I bought like mid-last year, I really have to get onto that.

A letter I'm going to write: Gee...I have no idea, I don't really write letters...Maybe I'll do one for my brother when his wife has their baby.

A new food I'd like to try: I'm a boring eater, so I can't think of one.

I'm going to do better at: Getting to bed on time...starting tomorrow properly.

On that note...I gotta go! :OP

Hopefully I'll have a more coherent entry tomorrow.

Goodnight all!

10:28pm: Seriously, my feet are very chilly indeed, so I've put a cover over them, but the rest of me is hot...I don't get how this is possible? I mean, my feet are good at getting cold, but usually not during the summer. It's quite annoying.

Anyway, moving on from that, today was a bit of a waste, I set my alarm to wake up at 9:30am, which I did, but then I decided to go back to sleep and didn't wake up until 12:30! So that was basically half my day down the toilet. I probably would have been able to go to the gym had I really got my butt into gear, but alas I did not, so I've done pretty much nothing, in fact if my mother hadn't come by the front of my house to drop off my hairbrush I left over there I wouldn't have even gone outside! So now I'm a bit jumpy from not having done any exercise!

Well, I did go outside to check out my Santa lights, which despite the somewhat sunny day today still aren't working! :O( It looks like there's something wrong with the battery. This sucks! I did keep the box so I wonder if I should return them to K-Mart for a refund. I really like them though...so maybe I should see about troubleshooting the possible battery issue...Plus, I'm not sure I have the receipt still and they've been out in the rain. Although I guess the warranty would expect outdoor lights to have been outside.

And I've just let myself get distracted by my Russian practice and now more than an hour has passed without me writing any more on this entry! LOL talk about fail!

I have to go though because I have to help Mrs S tomorrow although since it's a public holiday I get to start an hour later, yay! But that still means I need to get to bed at a decent hour.

So on that note of ditziness I bid you all goodnight!

9:36pm: It was an episode of the series I've been watching Bergerac, but it didn't make a lick of sense! Admittedly, I was a bit distracted during parts of it, but I don't think that was the problem. I suppose the Internet Movie Database warned me that the show went pearshaped in its last two seasons, but I didn't really expect this. :OP

Hopefully, the next episode makes more sense...

Moving on, I made some purchases after work today with Mrs S, first to Vinnies where I dropped off the stuff to donate and tried to find some 3/4 length jeans - but no luck there - or even a second hand blu-ray player - alas it must be too soon for Blu-Ray players to be donated to Vinnies, there were plenty of regular DVD players though.

After that I went to get a star for my Christmas Tree at the pop-up Christmas Shop, one of the discount ones, where I couldn't find any tree-toppers at first, but they were in the last aisle near the register so a purchase was made.

Then I popped into Goodwill were I found some green jeggings, which somehow fit despite the tag saying XS on it. Nice. They're not bright green like my other ones were, but they're still a nice colour and fit well. Only thing was they were 6 bucks, but the minimum to buy on card there was $10 so I had to find some other stuff to buy - which turned out to be a belt and a green clock for my bedside table.

And then it was off to the gym for my weights and swimming, good times! :O) Especially in my nice new rainbow swimming cap!

Now, before I do some of the Memes I need to catch up on here - as promised - is a photo of my Christmas Tree.

Big photo underneath! )

And here's the Thursday Memes:

Damage

Have you ever damaged a book? Dropped it in the bathtub? Spilled a bottle of ink? Used it to mop up spilled wine? Or just broken its back (poor thing).

Oh yes, very sadly yes. :O( Once I dropped a very thick book in the bath! It was terrible! I tried to dry it off, but it end up becoming hugely bulked up from having absorbed the water. It was a school library book too! Luckily they didn't charge me for it. Sadly, there have been other occasions of water damage, although nowhere near as bad, it just happened today embarrassingly enough. On the plus side, I've never broken the spine of a book!

Nostalgia

What book (or books) from your childhood do you think about most often? That had the most effect on your life? I've often mentioned this, the Adrian Mole books! They really kick started my own writing. They were so well written and funny, sadly the author died either this year or last year, so they'll be no more books.

Thankful

What is it about reading that makes you most thankful?

I guess it's because it allows you to go on an adventure without leaving your home! It broadens your mind and you're able to learn and feel new things. Hooray for reading! :OD

Anyway, better be off, I have to do my Russian learning thing on Duolingo and then head to bed.

Goodnight all!

11:28pm: Quite a bit of driving done today, at least, quite a bit in terms of what I do! Saturday is church day, so after work I drive from Dee Why to Neutral Bay and of course I drive back afterwards. With my shiny green car with it's automatic transmission I rather enjoyed it! Except for a few pot holes, my car is rather low to the ground so you can really feel bumps!

In other news, work went quite well today! Quite a bit to do so time passed quickly, the only problem is the pants I wore were just too tight. Damn this being between clothing sizes, it's a huge pain, I think I need to get a belt with more holes in it, the one I currently have doesn't go tight enough so my size 12 pants are too big and I feel like they might fall down! And although the pants I wore today had size 12 on them, they've been tailored extensively... I suppose I should give them away, but they came with a jacket and I sort of don't want to separate them, but i do like that jacket. Hmmm.

Anyway, in NaNo news I'm still playing catch up, I could have done more, but I got distracted watching Modern Family Season 3 on DVD, good show. :O) But all in all it hasn't been too bad! Though I definitely have to get to bed earlier tonight, I stayed up too late last night and now my eyelids are heavy and I'm yawning.

Here's the current word count:

27870 / 50000 words. 56% done!

Slow and steady wins the race as they say.

And now, I'll be off, I've also remembered I need to do some Russian study on Duolingo too before I hit the hay!

I'm seeing M and Grandpa tomorrow morning and then work in the afternoon so I'll be busy! Wish me luck in all my endeavours.

Goodnight all!
