Cemented

11:54pm: Right I've left this way too late to update, but just a few quick pieces of news for you all.

Firstly, after all that I found my activity tracker, the magnetic part of it had stuck to my keys and when I got up on Friday morning and actually focused on the hanging from the hook I saw it there! Phew! I also put in a new battery because the one it came with was definitely on the fritz. Although that still doesn't explain why the 'find tracker' thing in the app said it was in the city, seriously WTF?

Also, in regards to the subject heading the cement guys finally came by this morning to put in the new concrete. Luckily, the landlord had these planks behind his house which I'm using as a walk-way to my door. The new cement looks super nice, it's also much higher, almost the same level as inside the flat. Which makes me wonder if I should be worried if it rains? Won't water be able to seep inside much more easily? I sure hope not!

I didn't go ice skating this evening because a co-worker tipped me off that the outdoor ice skating rink is back in the city again! Sweeet! I'm planning to go on Tuesday this week, although it might have to be Thursday since I'm hanging out at M and Grandpa's on Tuesday, but then I'm going over Monday night so...I suppose I'd leave when M goes for her nap. Anyway the point is, I want to go at an off-peak time, it's cheaper then.

Anyway, it's almost midnight and I didn't get enough shut-eye last night so I gotta wrap this up...lack of sleep is making me feel uninspired to write and that ain't cool.

So now, bed is needed! Goodnight all!

11:36pm: So I've got this solitaire app on my phone that has a daily game, which often takes me a while to solve, I have to do a lot retries, but the one from yesterday is currently being the biggest pain in the ass. Seriously, I can't figure it out! And I even watched the "This is how you win this hand" thing. Very annoying.

So the rain has finally decided to show up, which is a problem because it's sheet washing time, but I can't hang them on the line and I've got no place to hang them here in the granny flat so I'm not sure what to do. I guess I'll just have to wait until the sun returns but in the meantime leave them in the laundry basket.

What else to report? Not a lot! I Although the landlord did come by this afternoon to tell me that he's arrange to have the concrete in front of my granny flat replaced - I didn't think it was looking too bad but it does have cracks in it. He thought perhaps it'd be happening this weekend, but the weather being as it is I have a feeling that won't be going down! He also seems to be thinking about getting an awning put it, which if that actually happens I'll definitely need to pay more rent! I also need to spend the night over at the parental units when the concrete is poured because obviously you can't step on it when it's drying.

Anywho! I better be off, as always work calls tomorrow and I certainly don't want to stay up too late, depending on the weather I might go skating tomorrow but if it's pouring I'll probably forego it 'cause the roads I need to take look like they'd have a tendency to flood.

So on that note, goodnight!

11:47pm: Yes! Good news indeed, my friends, after helping Mum out at the school this afternoon I mentioned the window issue to her and by the time I got back to my Granny Flat, Mum was speaking to the landlord (I got stuck behind someone at the a pedestrian crossing) and then we took a look at the window, which was rather awkward because I hadn't finished my cleaning...again. I contend it wasn't that bad though!

Anyway, at first it looked as if I was going to have to wait until tomorrow morning for the window to be fixed, but the landlord found a local glazier who came by this afternoon, took the window pane in question and bought it back an hour late as good as new! Sweeet.

In that time under the direction of Mum I got the place all nicely cleaned up, go me! And she kindly mopped the floor for me after I left to go to Mrs S's so now it's positively sparkly! All right, self, now you just gotta keep it that way!

Anywho, apart from that excitement I don't have much else to report - it's still early afternoon over in Russia so no updates on Plushy and his skating school's official opening, although I'm not sure you're all as excited as me about that. :OP

Also, I though I got enough zzzs last night - I totally slept through my alarm! - but apparently not because I'm yawning a lot and my brain is fizzled out.

So, er yeah, I'm outta here.

Goodnight all!

11:50pm: Yeah, yesterday as I was coming home from the parental units place I popped by the 7-11 to get some milk and decided to pick up one of these Santa belly Krispy Kreme donuts, which are super cute looking. I didn't eat it last night because I'd all ready had quite a few sweet, but I warmed it up for dessert tonight and let's just say it was not the best decision. It was just waaay to sweet, my stomach felt so weird afterwards that I almost had a panic attack!

Bah, I don't even care for Krispy Kreme donuts anyway so I don't know what the Hell I was thinking...

Anyway, that was basically the most activity I got done today I'm sorry to say...my mother ended up going swimming in the morning so there was no reason for me to go over since I wouldn't be able to go swimming myself and my big bro was having friends over, so...

I probably should have gone out, lying around all day is no good for me...or my step count. :OP I hope to rectify that tomorrow with not just work but going swimming with Mum at M and Grandpa's place.

Oh! And my the landlord's wife dropped off a small present for me today! How nice of them! I should have at least given them a card...shame on me.

But! It's nearly midnight so I better haul, before I go...I wrote a little fic for my friend [personal profile] crossover_chick for her birthday! Happy Birthday, Vic! This is the first writing I've done in a while so I'm totally rusty...

Oh Boo

Oct. 21st, 2016 11:12 pm
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
10:39pm: So today was the interview and I have to say...I don't think I did so well. Obviously I didn't prepare enough for it, because they were the same sort of questions I've had at such interviews before, but that didn't stop me from basically "uming" and "uhing" my whole way through. They told me to expect an answer back in about two weeks, but like I said I don't hold out a lot of hope. Damn shame because it's actually a full-time job with weekday hours so I'd be like a proper employed person.

In other news before I headed out to the interview the landlord came by to give me a letter and check that the smoke alarm was working, which it was. I also showed him the dripping tap, but unfortunately it doesn't look like he's all that sure how to get the top of the taps off either. Damn, should have got that plumber in here after all.

Huh, interesting I'm watching a doco called Body Hack and have just found out that you don't even have to be French to get in the French Foreign Legion. Not that I'm going to join, I'd last approximately point one millisecond, meanwhile the guy doing the doco is like "I'm so old compared to these guys..." which he is, but damn doesn't mean he's not fit since he ends up surviving the course and would have made the legion!

Also, Duolingo is being a bit of a pain here, I'm not sure if it's due to my phone running out of space or the storm that's outside. Maybe a bit of both? Very annoying. Especially since I'm still trying to get to bed at 11:18pm as advised by my UP app.

And also, I was going to do some memes, but Friday5 doesn't seem to be working, but I guess I'll just do the other Friday Five.

The (Other) Friday Five

15/7/16

1.How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? Uh...like how old do I feel? I guess like 16? Which is like half my age which is kinda sad.

2.Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying I suppose, although failing sucks rather hard :OP

3.If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Because you gotta eat, man and most people's dream jobs aren't really profitable.

4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? With how much I talk definitely the former!

5.What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? The inequality, it sucks that so little of us have so much. :O(

29/7/16

1.Do you believe in reincarnation? Nah.

2.Have you ever felt that you knew someone the first time you met them? Not that I recall.

3.Have you ever visited a foreign country or city for the first time and found that you knew exactly where things were? Pft, I barely know where things are in the place I live in all the damn time, so no.

4.Have you ever looked in the mirror and 'seen' a different face? Nope, although I have looked at photos of my niece and I think she looks a Hell of a lot like my mother's baby photos. Except...I don't remember seeing photos of my mother as a baby. Weird.

5.Is the belief in UFOs, aliens, physic powers, etc, growing because the belief in religion is dying? I dunno if it's actually growing, it's probably about the same it's just more noticible because of the internet.

Right, better be off now otherwise I won't make my bed time, which is more important than ever because I didn't sleep too well last night, I think I was nervous about the job interview, hmpf!

Goodnight!

Hot Stuff!

Oct. 10th, 2016 11:24 pm
anonymoose_au: (Brownies)
10:45pm: For sure! Today it got up to 30 degrees if you can believe that! Climate change is a hoax my ass.

And here I was with no shorts! Like I said they're in M and Grandpa's garage, or at least they were, lucky for me that during her morning work Mum had gone past there and picked it up bringing it back to her and Dad's place. How did I know this, because I ran into her at Warriewood Square! What a coincidence! One of her clients was at the podiatrists so she had gone there to exchange some socks and have lunch, which we ended up having together. Nice. :O)

After that I went and got my box, returned home, spent quite some time trying to get the air conditioner set up properly, I swear though there's no way to get it in the window behind the TV cabinet...there's just no way! I had to stick it in the other window instead, which as I mentioned does necessitate having it ajar.

Once I figured that out I headed out to the gym because I've been slacking on that and the air con there is a proper one, so I figured it was best to go there in the hottest part of the day than otherwise.

In other news, before I headed to the gym the landlord came to the door, apparently they have to turn the water off tomorrow so a plumber can do some repairs. I hope it won't be all day! Fortunately, I'll be able to shower tomorrow morning as the guy won't arrive until after 8am and I have to start at that time tomorrow, but the landlord's not sure when he'll finish. I guess if the worst comes to the worst I could go over to the parental units place. Although I'm planning to go to the gym again and maybe to Mona Vale to return some library books and such.

Anywho, with the earlier start required tomorrow I better wrap this up, but here's one Meme for the road!

Sunday Stealing

:The Gongerling Meme:

1. You’re building your dream house. What’s the one thing that this house absolutely, positively MUST HAVE? (other than the obvious basics of course) An ice rink! That'd be some totally cool shit...I could go skating every day! :OD And maybe learn to go backwards since I wouldn't have to worry about running into other people.

2. What is your dream car? The one I've got now! A green Mazda 2, the only thing missing is the reversing sensors.

3. What is your favorite website that isn’t a blog. Well, I'm really enjoying Reddit - LOL I'm so behind on stuff.

4. iPhone or Droid, which do you want/have? Droid, 'cause Apple sucks :OP

5. When you’re feeling down or lonely or just generally out of sorts, what do you do to cheer yourself up? Read a book, or watch a TV show I like. Or ring my mother up if all else fails!

6. Tell me about something or someone that you love that most people seem to hate. Well, I liked Kevin Rudd the former Prime Minister, although everyone I know seems to think he sucks!

7. What did you want to be when you grew up? Not a grown up apparently. :OP

8. Would you go on a reality show if given the chance? Fuck no, those things are bullshit. Well...I might go on House Hunters, but that's it.

9. Who was your favorite teacher when you were growing up? (Grade school, Middle School, Jr. High or High School only.) Ooo...that's a toughie, but I'd go with my Year Five teacher Ms Jones, the first to encourage my creative writing and a really nice teacher who told off the boys who picked on me. She also arranged for me to be in class with my best friend in Year 6 (after we'd been separated for 3 years! I had no friends in my classes), sadly for me, our family moved so that never happened. :O(

10. You get one pass to do something illegal or immoral. What are you gonna do? Uh...man, I can't think of anything I want to do.

11. What were you doing 10 years ago? I was 22 - yikes! And hunting for a job in the library sector while working a part-time job at document destroying place. I was living back at home with my parents and pretty much doing the same crap as I am now...although there was a lot more writing...man where'd my writing mojo go?

12. By this time next year, I ... will hopefully have saved up quite a nest egg for the apartment and with any luck be working more hours at a library. Oh and the building where my apartment will be will have started construction hopefully!

13. What is something that you need to do but you've procrastinated on? Question is what haven't I being procrastinating on...in all seriousness though, cleaning my Granny Flat, which I gotta get onto tomorrow!

14. Which fictional, TV show character you would shag anytime? No interest in shagging so...

15. What is your greatest pet peeve? Weird British pronounciations - "VIT-amin" and "ME-mo"

16. Tell me about your most recent trip of more than 100 miles? Hmmm, I guess that'd be going to my Aunt Weed's house maybe earlier this year? Although I'm not actually sure that's more than 100 miles, so failing that going to my graduation in Bathurst back in late 2014.

17. Which do you use more often, the dictionary or the thesaurus? To be honest, I don't think I've ever actually used a thesaurus, so...the dictionary.

18. Do you have a nickname? What is it? I have a few! The most well known is "Moose"

19. What are you dreading at the moment? Nothing...knock on wood!

20. Do you have a meme you think we should steal? (Yes, an old trick. But c'mon now. I gotta give it a shot. It's a lot harder to find memes now. But it's ok to answer "You're lazy" to call it a day.) Nope sorry...although I have noticed a decrease in the number of memes, sad.

OK, definitely gotta go now!

Goodnight!

11:12pm: And bed calls me very soon, although I don't have to get up as early as usual because I'm starting back with Mrs S at 9:30 rather than 8:30, I had meant to get up at the earlier time though, get my system back into shape and all, but it's a bit late for that. :OP

Anyway, as the title implies the cupcakes have been made! I did have a moment of "Oh shit" when I got my ingredients out and discovered I didn't have enough caster sugar! I could have sworn I bought some more, but I guess not and I realised this at 7:30pm, which is when the shop down the road closes and I certainly didn't feel like driving all the way down to Coles, especially since I'd all ready gone out to the Mall today.

However, luck was on my side, I took a gamble and SMSed my land lady to see if she had any, and she did! :OD So she kindly let me use it and all I have to do is bring the container it was in back. I made 12 regular sized cupcakes and three large ones - those will be for Mrs S, her husband and me. :O)

Moving on, Operation Purple Shirt continues and it's going quite well, although I'm a little worried that it might be too short, which is weird because it's supposed to be long...or at least there's an option on the pattern to shorten it...some people must have short torsos or something. I also need to redo the collar, because I managed to stuff it up to the extent that it couldn't be rescued. However I've managed to get one sleeve on! Although it's bloody long...which I guess is so you can turn it up? Either way, its a bit interesting, LOL.

Right, I'll be wrapping things up soon, but before that...

9:52pm: That should really be a spring, because I'm talking about is the spring on the green chair, which as previously mentioned has a broken spring that I've tried to fix with a u-shaped nail, but to no avail. The nail held for a while, but lately the spring has kept getting loose no matter how much try to put it back. Bloody pain in the butt, as I'm sure you can appreciate, so now I've tried gluing it, which I'm not really sure will work, at any rate I'm sitting in the other chair at the moment while the glue dries. I hope it works, otherwise I'm going to have to find some way to get repaired.

In other news, I went to the gym today because as it turned out it was only my last payment last week, so there's still two weeks to go. I also went to the Mall, but alas they only have one shade of grey felt, or at least they did at the art shop I went to. Although! I did have luck in Target where I got new blue towel - because the one I have is tread bare, as well as this utterly adorable quilt set. Everyone say "Awwwww" together.

There was also some not so good luck, when I left to go to the gym I forgot my keys, effectively locking me out of my flat, do'h! I was sure though, that by the time I got home one of the landlords would be at home. However, they weren't! Which I have to say was a surprise to me...I did consider waiting, but I really wanted to get inside because my little skate blades arrived! After looking around I saw that I was able to open one of the kitchen windows. Then I had to get one of the plastic lounge chairs to climb on so I could shimmy through.

I did briefly wonder what would happen if the landlords came home as I was doing this, or that the next door neighbours might think I was breaking in or something! But I got through without drama, yay! Maybe I should get an extra key and hide it outside somewhere...Or I supposed I could have just dropped by Mum and Dad's to get their spare key, but yeah as I said, I figured the landlords would be at home.

Anyway, the skate blades are really awesome! Except for one thing, I couldn't get them to stick on! I've got fabric glue, but I guess I need craft glue? But I don't have any, and super glue didn't work either. So I tried to sew them on, but the way they're made makes that impossible. So finally I glued them onto some material which I'm going to cut out and then sew onto Plushy Plush, hopefully it'll look OK!

What doesn't look right is Pusheen Plush! I'm not entirely sure what's going wrong, I altered the pattern and it looked OK flat, but not once I sewed it together and stuffed it. I'm not sure why, it's very annoying. Oh well, the experiments will continue I guess! Good thing I bought all that material after all! :OP

And now my phone is acting like a bitch, apps keep crashing or freezing up. So I've just had to shut it off, but I've just realised this very second that it was probably a case of having too many apps open, I should have tried clearing the queue thing. I don't know why the apps don't close automatically but apparently that's how it rolls.

Anywho! I better be off, tomorrow is the farewell breakfast for the Library Manager and it starts at 8:30am, so I need to get to bed way earlier than I did last night.

So I bid you all goodnight!

11:25pm: Guess what came for me today?

My umbrella! :OD Yaay! It's tiny and fits perfectly in my waterproof umbrella bag just like I hoped it would. Plus it has some super cute raindrops with faces on it. I took a photo of it, but I haven't uploaded it yet, so you'll have to wait to see it. :O)

Anyway, I have to make this quick because tomorrow the library is having a 'Thank You Breakfast' for the all the hard work us staff have done with the No Mega-Council Booth thing. Unfortunately, because it's breakfast it starts at 8:30, so I really should be in bed all ready!

That being the case, I'll keep this quick, the library shift went well today and afterwards I went looking for a clock for my bathroom, but damn man it's hard to find a decently small wall clock, or at least one that's reasonable price. Although I am a cheap bastard so that could be a good reason too, LOL.

In other news, I need to clean my flat! The landlady dropped by because the umbrella was originally dropped off at their door rather than mine, she mentioned the landlord wanted to come by and clean the dust out of the heater and close the vents up on the ceiling. I hope she didn't get too good a look of the place, because it doesn't look too good!

Right, on that note I better be off now, sorry for the short entry syndrome!

11:35pm: Of the old Granny Flat! The final inspection passed muster, although I'm pretty sure the land lady made a passive-aggressive comment about not having given enough notice. Which was very annoying, because we totally discussed this shit weeks back and she told me to go ahead...I considered bringing this up, but I decided it was better not to. But seriously, I did not imagine that conversation, I swear!

Anyway, now I have the big TV here, niiice. And I managed to connect the Blu-Ray player to the internet, I mustn't have been typing the password in right, so that's cool. However, the place isn't what my parents would call clean, eek! I really need to make sure it is before they come over tomorrow. Which means I really need to get myself to bed so I can wake up at a decent hour.

At least I got the cupcakes made for tomorrow, it was a close thing too because I left the old granny flat quite a bit later than planned and the local IGA here near the new place was just about to close when I arrived. I didn't get whipped cream because it was way too expensive, but I got the butter and the extra milk - which I kind of didn't need in the end. Whoops. :OP

Now, as for the memes, well...er ahem. :OP

But alas, I must go, hopefully I'll have something more coherent next update.

Oh and good news, I finally made contact with my friend, or rather she SMSed me and we're going to a big book sale on Sunday - although I can't really buy any...But still sounds fun!

11:30pm: Yes indeed because in Friday the landlady returns from her holiday and a real estate agent is coming by to look at the granny flat! Which still has a whole to of boxes and stuff on the floor, which means I've gotta clean it up after work tomorrow unless I want to get my ass kicked.

Also, Operation Dub has hit a snag, the VCR heads are dirty and so no tapes will play properly, the picture is all static! :O( Unfortunately, I have no cleaning tape so I've had to order one from Queensland. The internet suggested opening up your VCR and cleaning it like that, but I'm not risking it! Also I can't get the screws out. So that's ground to a halt, however, I found out that I can record stuff from the Foxtel Box! Hooray! So at least I can so that.

Anyway, it's past my bedtime and I'm writing this on my tablet which is a bit slow, so I'm gonna wrap this up and hit the hay.

Goodnight all!,
anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
9:54pm: So there's this Grease Live thing on TV at the moment, they showed it on US TV last night and due to my lack of Foxtel channels at present - the landlords didn't pay the bill - and it's just so weird...like what's this song on right now? It wasn't in the original film or the stage play and it doesn't sound very 50s at all.

Ah wait here's a familiar song thank God, although the acting is a bit hammy, LOL, apparently most of them are from Disney Channel shows so that might explain it. :OP

In other news, I finally brought a knee brace, some Nurofen anti-inflammation cream and an ice pack which seems to be working a bit on the knee, which is quite a relief because kneeling down remains quite difficult as does walking down stairs which seeing as I'm moving out is quite the handicap.

Speaking of...C sent me an SMS today wanting to know when she could ring me, I figured it had to do with taking out the garbage bins, although she never got back to me because her phone ran out of battery, but eventually Mum called her. And apparently, despite what was said last week she's none to pleased that I'm moving out before she and N get back from their respective holidays. She wants me to pay an extra week's rent! Apparently I didn't give enough notice? What the fuck? When I spoke to her about moving out we agreed the last day I'd pay rent was Friday the 13th, now suddenly I'm not giving enough notice. That's some bullshit.

Now, I suppose one could argue this is a good thing since I won't need to hurry and I can rest my knee, but the problem is because the nice people in Elanora Heights aren't charging me rent while I move in Mum doesn't think I should sleep over there, and that's where my bed is so now I have to sleep on the floor like an animal. :OP Although in all seriousness it sucks having to get down there especially with the knee. Hmpf.

Although, this will give me more time to get through with transferring my videos, I got an email and the analogue to digital converter will hopefully arrive tomorrow.

In other news, I have to go to bed now because I need to get up a whole hour earlier than usual because Mrs S needs to get to an appointment tomorrow and since taxis are unreliabe as Hell in the mornings she has to get the bus so I need to get there at 7am instead of 8:30am tomorrow!

Before I go though...I went to the Dee Why Library hoping to finish my book - I didn't, but while I was clearing my bookshelves I discovered that I actually have a copy of the second of the two book omnibus so I didn't have to keep it for so long after all. Anyway, the point to this is while I was at the library one of the people who worked there noticed me and came over to say hello. She wanted to know what I'd done to my knee - discreet brace my butt, although I was wearing shorts... - and she also had a tip that Ku-Ring-Gai Council is looking for Library Assistants! The jobs close on Friday so I'll have to call tomorrow to find out if I can apply for them in the one letter or if I have to write a separate one.

So yes, a busy time for the Moose! Wish me luck in my endeavours!

For now, goodnight!

anonymoose_au: (Hey! Bitches)
11:02pm: So today was the day of apartment searching, the first place with the LUG (lock-up garage) turned out to be a bust, the place was rather dingy, up two flights of stairs and smelt weird - although the latter was probably because it was empty or something?

After that I headed home planning to do some cleaning, but I feel down on the ball with that, because my lower abdomen is still being a little bitch. So rude. But I did at least manage to get to the gym - although I didn't go swimming because I only just washed my hair yesterday. Plus I wouldn't have had enough time, as it was I had to skip the upper body ergometre and my cool-down.

After that it was off - in the bus - to the second apartment, I was on the bus partly because of abdominal pain, but mostly because I wanted to make sure I got a parking spot in that very narrow street!

The second apartment was teeny tiny and also dingy not like Newtown at all, plus no parking spot so that wasn't much of a goer either.

There is an apartment in the same street that has a carport, and I actually called up about it only to find that the agent was on holiday and nothing could happen until tomorrow, so it looked as if it was over for today.

Although, Mum felt that I should look at Granny Flats - since they're much cheaper and perhaps something furnished - I could have sworn she told me not to look at furnished stuff, but whatever. So I decided to check Gumtree, where I knew there was a place available, or there had been...I called up about it, but a tenant had been found that very day, boo.

But...I took another look and found another Granny Flat available semi-furnished and the ad said one could call after 5pm, which it was at that point, so I did and the man said to come on over and take a look.

This Granny Flat is a bit off the beaten track, but it's closer to Mrs S and the Mona Vale Library, so that's good. Plus it's a really nice place! The kitchen is nice and big with a proper oven and lots of cabinet space, the bathroom has a nice new shower and an interesting little alcove that I can put some of my bathroom stuff in and there's even a rocking chair included, LOL! Oh and a really nice patio! I can totally have friends over.

The man was nice and seemed to like me, although he's got a wife so he needed to discuss the possibility of me becoming a tenant with her before any offer could be made. But I didn't have to wait long! She got back to me, although I missed her phone call because my mobile is being an ass - but we exchanged SMS's and I'll be meeting her and hopefully getting things started on Friday. Although...things'll be a little tight there because I forgot about the fact I'm working that day! Mum assures me I'll have enough time - she's coming with me, and will drive me to the mall so I don't have to rely on the bus or pay 9 bucks for parking.

So yeah, turned out to be a busy afternoon/evening, but everything seems to be coming together because I spoke to the Landlords here and thankfully it wasn't as awkward as I feared...and they even agreed to let me have the big TV in exchange for the air con (that was Dad's idea, good one, Dad!).

Of course, now I have to start packing up and also figure out what other furniture to get...so the busyness will continue.

For now though, I need sleep!

Before I go...good news, the Navman started working again! Although it looked as if it wasn't going to, but after pressing the reset button a few times it came back to life...without wiping all my data. Weird...but i shan't complain.

On that note, Goodnight all!

10:09pm: I'm feeling totally displeased right now, I've just discovered that despite my best efforts in applying the pimple cream and then waiting for it to dry before putting my PJs on, my Garfield PJs have been bleached by the cream! Now there's a big pink splotch on the back. I am thoroughly bummed by that because I'm quite sure you can't get these PJs at K-Mart anymore because I was just there earlier this week and I didn't see them. Sigh. I guess the only upside is its on the back so it's not like I can see it.

I'm probably being a bit overdramatic, but today hasn't been the best for me, this morning I had abdominal cramps and it was only good luck that I was able to get to Mrs S's. I tried driving there myself, but while I felt well enough to be able to do my work, driving is a whole different matter. So I ended up back in front of my house not sure what to do, except see if C, my landlady was still home because I saw her when I left. It turns out she was and was kind enough to give me a lift, so I didn't let Mrs S down at least.

After I finished up I went over to Mum and Dad's house on the bus, just in time to see Dad's car leaving, I figured that he might be going to get Mum from the airport - so I went in to enjoy the air conditioning and wait for them. After nearly two hours though I decided that they probably weren't coming any time soon and I should probably get myself home because the weather was looking pretty bad.

It took a lot longer than planned though, as it turns out some truck driver managed to spill his load of dirt on the Harbour Bridge and the knock on effect resulted in a huge delay for the buses. Good thing I had my book to read.

My abdominal area remains somewhat unsettled, but I think I should be good for tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Whoops, I've gotten distracted by the Russian Junior Nationals - the kid out there right now is wearing a very bizarre costume, even by figure skating standards. He's got suspenders...that don't actually go over his shoulders. WTF is that?

What else to report? Well not much, the weekly memes are decrease in number though! Another one the Follow Friday Four Fill-Ins as gone now, how sad. But there's still the two Friday Fives' so...

Slow

1. What’s something you make that takes a really long time to cook? I'm not a the person who cooks for a long time, I'm too lazy for that, LOL. I guess the longest would be lasagna, but even then that's only about an hour.

2. Of books you’ve completed, which took you the most time to get from beginning to end? Hmmm, I'm not actually sure. I guess there's been a few books I've slogged through, maybe a month and a half to two. If a book sucks that much I usually give up on it, although I generally do finish books.

3. What’s a movie that seemed much longer than it was? The fucking Matrix, God I hated that movie, what a crapfest.

4. Who was your partner for your first slow dance? Never done a slow dance, so N/A.

5. What decision are you dragging your feet toward making? Whether I'm going skating tomorrow I guess? I've been good with the decision making lately. :OP

SW:TFA

1. When did you last wear a lei (or something similar)? Um, I wore some red painted flower beads a few weeks back, they came from Fiji I think.

2. What are your thoughts on organically grown produce? Um...I don't really have any...although I did read somewhere that it takes more water to grow organic stuff than non-organic stuff, but I don't know about that.

3. Which Goldie Hawn movies have you seen? The only one I can think of is Death Becomes Her and I didn't really watch all of that.

4. What’s something you’ve recently and reluctantly flown solo on? Scratches head...nothing's coming to mind.

5. What experience do you have with BB or pellet guns? None whatsoever, I don't even know if you can get those things in Australia.

22/1/16

Balance

1. When opposing forces in your life pull you in different directions, how do you recenter yourself and find balance? Uh...I probably don't, which would explain some of my problems, LOL. I usually end up asking people's advice on what is more important, I guess.

2. What are often the greatest threats to your overall balance? My anxiety? Yeah, probably that.

3. If you could add just a little more of one thing to your life and have a little less of another, what would they be? Mo' money, less anxiety damnit.

4. What are pluses and minuses of hanging out with mercurial people, and what are pluses and minuses of hanging out with even-keeled people? Which tend to populate your social groups most? Hmmm, well, I guess the pluses of mercurial people are excitement and the minuses are you never know when their mood might change. With even-keeled people the pluses are emotional stability (they're probably fun too though) and the minuses...I dunno. Sometimes they might be a little too calm. As for which group populate my social group...probably even-keelers.

5. What’s you greatest challenge in maintaining a balanced diet? Not eating too much cheese and chocolate! It's a bit of a losing battle I have to say.

Right, I'll get to the other Friday Five later, in the meantime I'm trying to make heads or tails of Russian commericals, but I'm not getting anywhere really, except for recognising the word for 'everything' LMAO.

And I better be off, because I can't stay up too late, I need to be at Belrose Library at 9:30 tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Goodnight all!

10:11pm: Regarding the smart watch - activity tracker situation...because wouldn't you know it, but when I picked up the Aldi catalogue for next week I saw that on Saturday 23rd they're gonna be selling...

Activity Trackers! For 70 bucks, and these are updated one's too, with a more watch like band and a screen that is a lot easier to read and it comes in green and is cheaper than the one I got last year. Plus it also has the clip option, so when I want to wear a watch that matches my clothes I can just put it on my pants or whatever.

Soooo...should I return the smart watch then? I really like it how it alerts me to messages and emails and phone calls, I was thinking I'd just keep it anyway, because it's not like the cost of both it and the activity tracker will break the bank for me. But...it's so bulky, so if I shove it in my pocket it's really quite noticible which rather defeats the purpose. Plus it could well fall out! Bah! What to do, what to do...

I suppose I'll ask my parents what they think, Aldi has a 60 day returns policy, although in all honesty if I'm going to return the watch I should do it sooner rather than later.

Or maybe I should just be like Doc Brown and wear a watch on each wrist :OP

Anyway! I was going to make this entry more interesting than yesterday's, which I haven't quite succeeded in doing, but I do have good news about my car! I finally got around to going to Autobarn and having them mix up some touch-up paint for the scratches. My landlord was out in the front yard when I came out to wash my car and he was nice enough to help me out with that. Obviously, the touch up paint doesn't completely cover up the scratch like it would if I went to the panel spraying guy, but you have to be standing quite close to notice.

So that's great! Although it's supposed to rain tomorrow evening - boo and typical. :OP

Now, to continue the Meme catching up... )

Right! I've made a lot of progress there, but now I better be off, as I mentioned I went to work early today but it turned out I didn't need to, that was a bit annoying, but ah well. I did finish early so there's that.

And now I say goodnight!

11:32pm: I'm catch up on NaNo! I'm almost at 40,000 words so I have high hopes I won't end up being too rushed towards the end.

Of course, I'm kind of at a crossroads about where to go with the tale, I'm wondering if I should make a big time-jump, the series the fanfic is based on is known for doing that sort of thing and the story is starting to drag a bit...I'll never finish the tale at this rate! Decisions, decisions.

And now, I must post my word count and get butt to bed! I don't have to get up super early tomorrow, so that's a relief. Also, the cool change came in this afternoon so the weather is bearable, plus Mum brought the new air conditioner and N and Grandpa installed it so with any luck I won't have a horribly uncomfortable and sweaty day like I did yesterday.

Oh and my house is nice and clean now, since I had to do it in order to get the air con. Now, I really need to keep it this way, it looks way better and keeps the mind uncluttered. :OP

For now though I have to be off, man these entries get shorter every day. :OP
