10:46pm: Not sure if I mentioned this but I borrowed a DVD series from the library the other week called The 72 Cutest Animals and of course it's full of cuteness! They've just shown the Elephant Seal, the adults aren't that cute, but the little calfs sure are! Man, I love seals and how they have to wriggle along, LMAO, boing, boing, boing! And so on :OP Looove it.

Anyway moving along, it's been a busy day! First there was work at Mona Vale Library this morning, it started off rather quiet, but ended up being quite busy and then afterwards volunteering at Dee Why Library. I arrived rather later than usual for the latter because I forgot my phone this morning so had to go via the Granny Flat to get it and I also had to pick up my newly altered pinstripe pants! :O) They're looking good although I have tried them on yet.

Speaking of pants though, I did buy a black pair with wider legs at Warriewood yesterday, I got them from Suzanne Grae which is kind of an old lady clothes shop, but it has the benefit of short length pants, which means they actually fit me without needing to be taken up! Praise the Lord! They look very nice, except they do seem to be slightly tight? But I think they'll expand a bit, I hope so! But it's not like I could have got the next size up because then they'd be too big. Seriously, what's up with pants and me? Pisses me off.

Eeee! Break in proceedings to say the panda has just shown up on the DVD and eeee they're so CUTE!!! They look like soccerballs! It cracks me up.

What else to report? Well, my throat seems to be a bit dry today...weird, I hope I'm not getting a cold (knock on wood), maybe I should gargle or something?

Oh! And I almost forgot, dinner with the co-worker last night went really well! On Mrs S's advice I made cupcakes, but I think I mucked up the recipe a little because they didn't come out as nice as they usually do. In fact the first batch was kind of a write-off to be honest. Oh well, at least I got the frosting right this time around!

My co-worker baked chicken and added some Hoysien sauce (I think), which was Chinese inspired, but there was also mashed potato and sliced potato with a Peruvian sauce on it. Which I've tried before at Mrs S's place, it's quite nice! And the second batch of cupcakes turned out OK, so there was that as well. Her boyfriend who lives in the sharehouse too joined us, so that was interesting!

So yeah good time being social, go me.

Anyway, I better wrap this up and head off, I've got to go to bed and do my Russian!

But! I can inform you the panda got to be number 1 in the list, as it should be, LOL.

Sand now, goodnight!

10:50pm: In these episodes of Air Crash Investigation that I'm watching! They must have gone to a later timeslot or something in Season 2 because the episodes in Season 1 bleeped out the swears, but now they're dropping 'f' bombs left and right, which when you think about it makes sense, because God knows if I was in such a situation I'd be swearing my head off. (Although, it should be noted that when they release transcripts of cockpit voice recorders they usually bleep out the swears anyway, so I'm not sure how Air Crash Investigation knows they were actually dropping the 'f-bomb'.)

Moving on...for some reason, it seems to be hotter in my room here then it was yesterday despite the fact it's supposed to be cooler tonight...Although cooler is sort of relative, it's was like 27 degrees today instead of 30 degrees...or maybe that's because I didn't put the boost function on, I was hoping I wouldn't have to, but it seems to be the only way to cool this place down, otherwise I'm sweating.

In other news, I'm a bit disappointed in myself, I somehow managed to sleep through my alarm this morning and didn't wake up until 9:30! This was good in terms of catching up on my zzzs, but totally ruined my plans to go ice skating today. Not only did I want to do that since I'm planning on hanging out with friends on Saturday afternoon I also wrote it down as a 'do-to' in my Cognitive Behaviour book, I hope this wasn't some sort of subconscious over sleeping to avoid going, I was feeling a bit nervous about doing so yesterday.

What else to report - well Plushenko the fish is hanging on, although he's spending a lot of time on the bottom of his tank so I'm a bit worried about that. It occurred to me that maybe the sponge for the filter in his tank needs to be changed. I forgot to find out how often it's supposed to be changed, better check that out. Although as I typed this Plushenko swam to the top of the tank to get some air so fingers crossed I think he's getting better. His fins certainly look fuller, although I'm not sure if his tail will ever come back.

So I've left writing this entry a bit late, but I must give a shout-out to Dad who bought me an absolutely awesome t-shirt while he was in Parramatta today (he has to take his car to the dealership he bought it at while it's under warranty)...he also bought a matching one for himself, we plan to wear them tomorrow to dinner which will no doubt make my mother go "Oh nooo"

Right, I have to finish off my Russian before I hit the sheets so I'll wrap this up now.

It's supposed to be really hot again tomorrow...pray for my air-con!

Oh and lastly, many thanks to [personal profile] crossover_chick for my birthday fic!

11:21pm: Yep, I decided to just do it and purchase that boxset of Air Crash Investigation, because...just look how awesome it is! It looks like a real Black Box! :OD

It has 36 DVDs in it, in 14 cases (covering the 14 seasons of the show), of course as I might have mentioned yesterday the show is actually still going, so I'm not sure what I'll do when those seasons come out. I suppose if I wait long enough perhaps they'll need to make another box set (although it's a bit unfortunate to think there'd be that many plane crashes to do episodes about!)

So I've been watching the first season at the moment, which I realised with some shock is over 13 years old now! Holy shit, time has gone way too fast. o.O

Moving on to less pleasant news when I woke up this morning and looked in the fish tank it looked as if Plushenko the fish had DIED! As you can imagine I was upset about this, even more so when I realised to my horror his tail fin which had been so luxurious had disappeared! Seriously! It's just...gone except for a little stump left! His fins have been decidedly ragged these past few days, but I didn't realise they were so bad!

Then as I got the fish net to get him out and give him a proper burial, Plushenko the fish suddenly started swimming around! He was alive! But surely he needed his tail to live?! Obviously I wanted to find out what to do for him but I had work, so that needed to come first.

I did have enough time to look up tail loss on my mobile, it seems it was fin rot, but then I wasn't sure? The little stump was rather smooth, which sounded more like it'd be sheared off, but how? I haven't put anything new in the tank, so...?

Anyway, I tried to put it out of my mind while working for Mrs S, but I did let her know about it although seeing as she's not an expert on fish she could advise me either. But I got my work done - despite the fact that every time I had to go out into the garage it was a nightmare because the air conditioner outlet is there and it heats up the space so badly. We actually put a thermometre in there at it got up to 40 degrees!

I also made lasagna for Mrs S and her husband, and I'm pleased to report unlike last time I didn't burn it, hooray! Mrs S sent me an SMS to let me know it was delicious, yay!

Once I finished working I headed for Warriewood Square and the pet shop there to see what could be done for Plushenko the fish. I'd also read that stress could cause problems in betta fish so I was going to get some stuff called Stress Coat, but I though I'd double check with one of the sales people (they seem to know their stuff) and the recommended something called Bettafix which should help with fin issues and of course I needed to change half the water in the tank which would hopefully clear up any nasty stuff in there, which I hurried home to do - although I was worried that Plushy the fish might have died in that time.

He was at the bottom of his tank, but when I turned off the filter he started swimming about again, so he was hanging on. The only problem was I still can't get that siphon thing to work so I had to use a jug to get water out, which stirred up some stuff at the bottom of the tank which worried me a little. It cleared up once I refilled it with freshly treated water after a while, so hopefully it's all OK.

Now, I was going to go to Harvey Norman to get the digital photo frame for Mrs S, but when we checked online they were all ready out of stock! So, I thought maybe I wouldn't go to the Mall...however, it was a hot day and I felt it'd be best if I headed out, especially since I could go to Pet Stock to have the water from the tank tested, although after I thought about it, I should have taken the water out of the tank before I changed half the water. But I did think it was possible I might not have put enough water treatment in there which is something I need to know!

The chap at Pet Stock tested the water and said it was OK, so that's a relief, although in the end I did buy some of that Stress Coat stuff to put in the tank - it's like the water treatment thing but with an extra ingredient that's supposed to help calm fish. Considering how jittering Plushy the fish has been today I felt he could use it!

Then it was finally off to the mall where I returned the set-top box to Target and ended up buying the Air Crash Investigation box-set before heading back home via Mum and Dad's to take advantage of their air conditioning there and show off my purchase to Dad.

I suppose I could have stayed over at Mum and Dad's, and I did kind of regret it when I got back here to the Granny Flat and found that despite closing my door and turning on the air-con it was still stifling in here! However, going over the air-con manual I discovered there's a 'boost' setting on there and since pressing that button the room has cooled. Phew! Although I'm not sure how good of an idea it is to keep it on for too long...although having checked the manual again it doesn't say that you can only use it for such a length of time. I sure hope this isn't killing the electricity bill...

I also got another delivery today! Not my phone, but issue 13 of the Back to the Future comic (which I forgot to get when it first came out from Kings Comics so needed to get through E-Bay), so that proved to be great read! Can't wait to see how this storyline pans out. :O)

And now, I must be off for it's almost midnight and I need to go to bed! Goodnight all!

11:56pm: Yes, indeed, I finally got around to going to Innovations to buy some stuff for Mrs S, however before I even headed that way after finishing work I realised I'd forgotten something quite important.

Namely, the hose Mum ordered for my air-con here! OMG! I was meant to pick it up on Friday! And to add to that Mum had never got around to telling me where exactly it was. Fortunately, she did say something about going to the DeLongi website and that the place was in Manly Vale.

After swinging by home to change my clothes and get some more cold water (it was a hot day today!) I found the info for the place and called them up. Fortunately, the air conditioner hose was still there so off I went to collect it. As it turned out the air con unit only comes with one length of hose, which was something Mum and I had worried about. Luckily, I discovered upon arriving home that I was able to attach the two hoses together and now I can put it in the window, hooray!

Then it was on to Innovations where sadly they didn't have half the stuff Mrs S was looking for, or the defrosting tray thing I was planning to get, do'h! They did though have season one of Spin City on special. Cool!

So I was able to get one thing for Mrs S, the other thing will need to be posted out after Christmas and the third thing was completely gone.

So after that I headed off to Spotlight which as I mentioned last night was having a sale, although to be honest they seem to have one every other day. As it turned out, I'd somehow never noticed in all the other times I've been to the Super Centre that right next to the Spotlight is a shop called Pillow Talk which is choc-a-block of bed sheets and whatnot! I did check in Spotlight but ended up buying some very nice green cotton sateen sheets. Yay!

And from Spotlight I got some green and purple fabric, I want to try my hand at making shirts again. Fingers crossed they'll turn out better than the first purple one I made.

I was planning to go to the gym, but by the time I finished all this it was nearly four pm and I wanted to get home, so I'll be heading to the gym tomorrow instead.

And now, I must be off, I'm actually cheating on this entry a bit...it's after midnight, but I shall keep this entry on the 7th 'cause I wanna. :OP

I bid you all goodnight!

11:34pm: I have lower abdominal pain, which really sucks and means this entry isn't going to be as exciting as I promised! Although when is it ever?

However! I can report that I won one of the half-finished games of Canasta and M won the other half-finished one! Also worth noting that I only juuuust scrapped by my win, where as M totally kicked my ass with her's.

What else to report? Scratches head...oh the opening of the DVD case yesterday, well basically with Daylight Savings setting in and the beautiful weather the library was pretty much dead yesterday. So in a moment of boredom one of my co-workers offered to help me get the case open. This involved a lot of brute force and a pair of scissors, looking back on it many OHS rules were overlooked there. :OP But! In the end the DVD was opened yay! Although there was a bit of damage to the cover insert, a tiny tear, but eh I'll get over it.

Anyway, I shall have to wrap this up...and lament on my boring entry. Man, I gotta get some more hobbies or something...Any suggestions?

And now I bid you all goodnight!

11:46pm: Yep! The sun didn't set until almost 7pm today, oh yeah!

And it was an absolutely beautiful day, although I spent the bulk of the afternoon in the library, of course, and it was SO quiet! The first Sunday of the month is supposed to include the Lego Club which usually makes things quite loud, however either the time change or beautiful weather kept the kiddies away. There were kids in the library, of course, but none of them played with the lego, shocking I tell you.

Anyway, I better make this entry quick because despite the fact I was thinking of getting to bed early - especially since I only got 6.5 hours of sleep last night I let myself get caught up in various internet stuff and now look at the time!

On the plus side at least I don't have to go to work until an hour later because of the public holiday, and after that it's off to M and Grandpa's for canasta, yay! And this time I'll remember the scores.

And oops, I just remembered I forgot to do my Russian so I have to rush off and do that...

Expect a better update tomorrow! Including getting the DVD case open...I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat about that :OP

11:29pm: Ah crap look at the time! I decided to watch Tangled, which I borrowed from the library like a week ago but haven't had time to watch it until now, but I didn't pay attention to the time when I did! Now it's past my bedtime and I haven't even studied my Russian. I'll have to give it a miss tonight because I haven't been getting enough zzzs and I don't want to end up being too sleepy.

Anyway, not much to report today, except I almost forgot I had a shift on at the Library! Fortunately Mrs S asked me and I double checked my phone. Although this did mean that I didn't get to go to the gym...again...booo! I'm gonna go tomorrow though, so help me!

I also made my lasagna tonight and managed not to burn the top of it in the oven here, yaaay!

I planned to dub some more ice skating, but SBS on Demand was being an ass...maybe it doesn't work right when there's too many people on the net, perhaps if I try it when the people in the main house aren't home it'll work all right. Fingers crossed!

Now, though, I must flee!

11:24pm: So after looking more carefully online for answers, I downloaded a program called ISOBuster which is able to recover data from DVDs even when they can't be read anymore. I wasn't entirely hopefully, but...it worked! :OD The downside is firstly, the file recovered is one big one instead of the split into sections like they were when I originally recorded the DVD and secondly the file itself is one that I'm not sure will play on anything else. I think there's a way to convert them, but I dunno, it might cost money.

Plus this means I need to shell out for an external hard drive, so I can convert all the DVDs onto it...which I suppose might be a good idea, although I did go to some effort to label the DVD cases, and draw little pictures on them and everything. However, putting all of it on an external hard drive would save me quite a bit of space. There's a huge crate under my bed at the moment...

Anyway, I fear I'll be inflicting short entry syndrome on you all because I've managed to let myself get distracted and now I have to go to bed! Thankfully, I don't have to get to work early tomorrow but that doesn't mean I'm not sleepy! Especially after not getting enough zzzs over the last few nights.

What else? Well! I did manage to get the recording of Torino from the DVD, sadly I mustn't have adjusted the tracking or the tape was bad because the picture quality is shit. But I was still able to listen to what the Australian commentators had to say about Plushy. Clearly they thought he was awesome sauce. Ha! Also they chat way less then the US commentators so one was able to enjoy the actual program. Good times, good times.

And I shall be off now because I'm dying of thirst and I need to brush my teeth and put my acne cream on before I hit the hay.

For now goodnight!

11:03pm: It would appear that none of the DVDs I recorded years and years ago when I first got a recordable DVD player will play! Not in any of the three DVD players I have nor in my laptop. This is a disaster! I have like 60 of those discs and no way to play them! What am I going to do? Especially since I no longer remember what brand of DVD recorder I used...according to the internet that's probably the only way I could ever get them to work.

Disaster!

Somewhat less disastrous is that I've managed to get all my kitchen stuff over to the new flat today and did a whole lot of recording off the Foxtel Box. So at least that thing is working.

Anyway, I've been remiss in the memes...but alas I'm going to have to forego them again because I need to get to bed. As it turned out the nurse didn't come today, but she's coming tomorrow so I need to get up half an hour earlier than usual. And considering I didn't get enough zzzs last night I'm practically falling asleep at the keyboard here!

So yes, short entry syndrome strikes on top of everything else. Sigh...I should take some pictures of my new place to show you all, once I get everything in its proper place.

Look forward to that, then! ;O)

11:33pm: I probably shouldn't have, but JB Hi-Fi was having a buy two get one free thing going on and they had all the Rugrats DVDs (I think) and I could't help myself. It cost me $115 all up, but that was for 9 DVD boxsets! Sadly, they don't seem to have any special features, but I've always wanted to see all the Rugrats episodes, Australia didn't broadcast them all.

In other news...my eyeballs are quite sore at the moment, beats me why, I haven't been on the laptop all day or anything. Bit of a mystery really.

Perhaps it's because I had such a busy day, since it was ice skating day, so I got down to business right away putting on my laundry, however I managed to screw up the timing so the second load didn't end until after 1pm and then I hung them out before heading off for Macquarie. By this time though, it was a quarter to two! Obviously, I was going to cut it close, but then to top it off I got almost all the red lights!

So in the end I only got half an hour worth of skating today, booo. Still the cashier at the ice skating rink were nice enough to charge me $13 instead of the usual $14.

After I bought all the DVDs I headed off for church, getting there in good time, yay. However, the regular organist is back and things got a bit awkward because the strange lad from the other week was back, he's the Altar Assistant's son after all (although I'm not sure where the kid has been before last week, I've never seen him there before), and the Organist can't abide people chatting in church at the best of times! I think the kid might have ADD or something because he chats a lot and can't keep still. I guess his father thought maybe he could be the back-up PowerPoint person, but with such scatterbrainedness that's rather unlikely.

The mystery continues!

Anyway, due to my eyeballs I shall forego the Memes for today and hope they'll be OK tomorrow!

10:22pm: So I tried to call the Librarian to ask about the job hours and whatnot today, but alas I guess she doesn't work on Fridays or something, because I got her voice mail. I left a message, but alas she didn't call back and I don't want to wait to the last minute to apply so...I took the plunge. Oh I hope it's OK! The last few times I've applied to a library job I haven't got so much as an interview, just those 'Sorry you didn't make the cut' emails. Come oooon, fingers crossed!

In other news, I'm here at the apartmento because the big bro sent me an email asking that I be here to let him in early tomorrow morning (like 7am) so he can have a shower and whatnot before going to meet a friend for breakfast. So I'll have to go to bed at a decent hour tonight so I won't be super sleeping tomorrow. I'm doing my laundry at the moment, I have one more load, but I wonder if I should put it on because I was kind of hoping to have the place looking semi-nice and having clothes hanging up all over doesn't really do it. But I do want to finish it...eh...I might go for it.

Moving on, I picked up Dirty Dancing for $13 for Dad. I shall give it to him tomorrow, he's had a rough week apparently, so hopefully this will cheer him up.

And before I go, here's the Meme!

Friday5

ID Part Two

1. How familiar are you with the plants and trees in your area? Um...not very, which I'm sure M would be appalled about because she's all about the trees and flowers.

2. How familiar are you with the wildlife in your area? Don't really have any since I live in the middle of the city. I think there might be some fruit bats around, but I could be wrong about that.

3. Can you name the makes and models of five of your friends’ cars without looking? No, because I don't have five friends that have cars. One has a dark blue Nissan something, another has a light green Citroen 2 I think. That's all I can remember off hand though.

4. How many of your co-workers’ spouses and kids can you name? Er...well aside from my Uncle Sam and his family. Umm...I can name the family's of two of my co-workers. My memory's not very good with names.

5. If you had the radio on whatever station is playing current hits, how would you do at naming the songs and artists you heard? Ha ha, ridiculously poorly as I haven't listened to current pop songs since about 2005.

Right, I think that second last load has finished, so off I go now to put the last one on.

10:27pm: Well, that was quick, after less than 6 months they've dismantled all the monorail tracks! :O( I think the stations are still standing, but sniff. This has also come to mind because I can't find my commerative token! I'm sure I must have put it somewhere safe, but as so always happens that's always the last place you look, do'h! Well, I still have the fridge magnet, it'd be hard to lose that.

And now I think I've managed to break a light bulb while looking for it, whoops. I don't think I actually have a light fixture that it fits so it's probably not so bad... Still, oops.

In other news, it was hot today, quite a worry for those in the Blue Mountains, two new fires started, but I don't think the others met up into one super fire so that's a relief! Plus it's going to be nearly 10 degrees C cooler tomorrow so that should help, as long as the winds aren't too high.

The fires did mean the head of the Writer's Group wasn't able to come along since he lives up there, but the meeting was still on and I got there in rather good time (the traffic wasn't as atrocious as usual) and I got some good writing done. :O)

And time is getting on, so I better wrap this up! I will say one thing, I wore a different ring today which seemed looser, but for some reason the finger I wore it on is tingling, like it was too tight. Weird!

And lastly, I purchased something for Dad today! Last Saturday the movie Dirty Dancing was on, which he had planned to record because it's the sort of movie you'd show at a girls' school when there's nothing else to do. Unfortunately, he goes to be early so he forgot to record it. However! When I was at the mall getting lunch today I found a Special edition of it and this place called CEX that exchanges old electronics, movies, games etc. And it was only $3 score!

Although, there is a few problems, it's a Region 1 Blu-Ray, for one thing, though it does work on my Blu-Ray player, but I don't know if Dad even has a Blu-Ray player at school. It did come with a digital copy, but hey wouldn't you know it? It's expired. Fucking DRM, it's total bullshit. I am pleased it works on my Blu-Ray player though, because when I saw the Region thing I was like "Oh no." Why do they even have Regions? I'll tell you why, so they can gouge the Australian market by making our DVDs twice as expensive as US ones! Hmpf! Still hopefully I can find out a way for Dad to use it.

Right, enough of that, I shall be off! Goodnight all!

11:09pm: Yes! This pain of mine is becoming weirder by the day! This morning I went for an ultrasound because they thought it might be cyst or God forbid a hernia. Good news is, it's not that, but the doctor seems to think I might have strained a ligament in my pubic bone area! The Hell, man?

So long story short I've got to have an x-ray to get that checked out and if it is the case I might have to have physio therapy on it, which is seriously weird and I wonder how that even works. I guess I'll find out if it comes to pass.

Hmm...I'm watching some my Olympic DVDs on my new DVD player and the audio track is totally out of synch with video track, oh dear. D: Not sure if that's the DVD player or the type of file I saved the file as. It seemed to work OK on my laptop.

Also I've confused myself, I could have sworn they were swimming in the wrong direction at the Olympic (at least as far as I was concerned) but now it seems not to be the case. Scratches head, weird.

On that note I better get myself to bed, as Sunday proved this chronic undersleeping of mine is leading to shocking results! And is no doubt partly responsible for my inability to do my assignment properly!

10:23pm: Yeah, I was pretty uncertain when it came to purchasing it, what with it having Blu-ray and 3D capibilities which I hardly need, but I've just set it up and the inbuilt Digital TV tuner is brilliant (although I hope I can play Foxtel through it too) and you can get on the internet with it too! I just watching My Little Pony episode 1 again using it. Superb! Oh and it looks like it'll play my homemade DVDs too which is a real relief because that would have sucked ass. I'm watching my Olympics DVD right now, the sound seems to be off though, which I hope is just a one-off and won't happen to all the recorded bits!

In other news, my foot seems to have healed up nicely, I was able to do my little excerise warm-up when I got to the gym although I did lift 12 kilos left than usuual when it came to the leg thing just to make sure I didn't overdo it.

Ah, our only gold medal in the pool...never would have guessed that at the beginning of the Olympics! Embarrassment city...in fact the Swim team is still dissecting the whole thing, just today and yesterday there were newspaper articles about weird pranks and shit going down. Kids these days.

do you pretty much just shelve them and then leave them alone until
you need them?

Oddly enough not on shelves, though I like too! Unfortunately the wardrobe at the studio while fabulous has really deep shelves and thus aren't suitable for books. So instead I store them in boxes! But I make sure they're nice and neat, unlike the rest of my stuff, LOL.

Not much else to report except my shins hurt for some reason, hmm worrying. That better not hang around I hope!

Right and now off to do my assignment, bah sources!

Goodnight all!

10:41pm: Without much to say, although I am starting to work the Saturday shift at the newsagency starting from this weekend. It'll be good to have some extra money. :O)

The only other thing I have to say is about Pottermore, why if Hufflepuff have the most people in it (Puffs for the win ;O) we're still running so far behind on Housepoints! I guess we didn't get enough dueling in before it went down for maintenance and has remained down for ages now, which sucks 'cause I wanted to try it out!

Oh! And [livejournal.com profile] alexi_lupin tipped me off to a documentary on Merlin being shown on the SBS (the Special Broadcasting Netwrok here in Aus) so I recorded that. I was widly amuse that in pure SBS style they had to mention the Nazis, it turned out to be relevant info, but at first I was like "What the fuck does this have to do with anything?"

Also, question! I bought some milk last week and it says it went off on the 3rd, however, I haven't been home or opened the fridge of antyhing and I opened it today to take a look and it seemed fine, do you, my fellow friends, think it's OK to drink? Or should I just toss it? Or maybe use it to make cupcakes (because hey why not? ;O)

And I should head off now so I can close off the DVDs I recorded of Miracle Day, I'm visiting a friend tomorrow and she wants to make a copy so yeah.

And that's all I have to say for today, I hope all my US friends enjoyed their long weekend!

So err, yeah, I don't have much to say for myself, the wardrobe man has finished the wardrobe and now I'm trying to put DVDs and whatnot away.

So yeah, once again I better make this quick, otherwise when I wake up tomorrow morning I'l trip over all this stuff.

I seem to have left a whole box of DVDs behind at my parents house though, so I'll have to make sure that that gets sent over.

Shit I'm going to have no time to do anything with Captain John today... :O(

Oh well, thems the breaks.

10:51pm: Well not exactly, but at Vinnies today we put all the dresses in colour order to make browsing easier to do. And for second hand goods some of them a pretty good quality. I was tempted by quite a few things, but I kind of all ready have enough clothes. I wonder if I should colour code my wardrobe, sometimes I have trouble finding stuff in there.

After my volunteering - which when for 2 hours and 45 minutes I headed to Chatswood to drop of my resumes at various shops that are looking for employees. I wonder if I'll get a call back from any of them. Fingers and toes crossed I guess!

Still trying to burn my DVDs because I hate to have to use a whole new one, it's a waste of resources I tell you, but I don't seem to be having much luck. Although I changed some settings and the laptop's a lot quieter now which is good because it sound rather worrying before. The computers in this house don't seem to be happy, the little netbook - Baby Ben as Dad called it died and his desktop has gone weird. Ah well...

And now, Meme time!

Friday's Question

29/10/10

How many emails do you have to get in a day to feel stressed out (by the amount of them)? How do you manage how you respond to them (do you prioritize them)?

Do you email back and forth with your significant other throughout the day?

Well seeing as most of my emails are RPG related, getting emails is a way to get unstressed! :OD It means people love me, hee!

And N/A.

Friday Fill-In

So...here we go!

1. While the cat's away the owners will re-decorate.

2. Making up words is always fabuloso!

3. Children
are generally annoying, but not in small doses.

4. When I had a job, I was all about unwinding in front of the computer when I get home from work or shopping or what have you.

5. This may seem odd, but
that's the way I roll.

6<. RPGing is taking up a lot of my time these days and that seems like a fine idea to me!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
more RPGing, tomorrow my plans include going to the library, cleaning my room and going to Church and Sunday, I want to hang around!

The (Other) Friday Five

29/10/10

1. What were your three favorite songs ten years ago?

Pretty much the same ones as I love now. :OP I'm retro!

2. What songs or groups from ten years ago did you love then, but don't like anymore?

Don't have any.

3. What songs from ten years ago did you love then, still love now, but haven't heard in a long time?

Uh...well I've mostly downloaded them, so...yeah...there's none of them I've really heard for a while.

4. What songs or groups from ten years ago did you not like then, but do like now?

I dunno, my music tastes are pretty static...although I like Fleetwood Mac and Phil Collins.

5. How has your taste in music changed in the last ten years?

It hasn't, much like myself, LOL!

And that's all I have to say for today.

Goodnight all!

10:42pm: OMG...over dinner we were watching The 7:30 Report and there was a story on about woodchipping in Tasmania and the name of the guy who runs the Woodchopping Union or whatever it is had the last name 'Chipman'! LOL! I haven't laughed so much since the Gaming Minister was Mr. Gambol.

In other news, job prospects continue to suck, what's with that? I've had to call up the Disability Job Network, they're getting back to me tomorrow, I hope - which reminds me, tomorrow is Wednesday.

11:03pm: Ahem, back again, as I was writing that I just realised that the DVD of Invictus I rented for my father last week was due. So I had to go out in the car and return that. But now I'm back again.

So Memes!

Manic Monday

18/10/10

What work of art best describes your personality?

The Scream
? LOL, no it's not that bad. Uh I dunno...there's so many works of arts out there. Hmmmm....I can't really think of one...except for The Scream, LOL.

What was the high point of last month?

Last month...uh...probably hanging out with the friends during the last weekend of September, hanging out with the friends always kicks ass! I need to do it more often.

What do you think is the single best decision you've made in your life so far?

Ahhh, gee, I dunno...making frineds with my friends. Because otherwise my life would be quite sad, even with the writing.

And the Shipping Meme!

Day 27 - A pairing that you loved and ended up hating?

I've never had that happen. I'm totally one of those people that don't mind over-saturation of my OTP, in fact I'll seek it out! Makes me go awwww. ;O)

Getting down to the last three days! )

Righto, not much else to report, except I really need to get some new coloured socks, it's suprisingly more difficult to find them then you'd think. Very annoying. Will have to continue to investigate.

And on that note, I shall retire.

11:21pm: On the internet, which isn't a shocking revelation I know, but I thought I'd mention it again.

I've just realised that none of the gymnastics I thought I DVD recorded has recorded! This is most displeasing! Although the Commonwealth Games coverage on Ten is rather hard to keep up with, they only show like five minutes at a time then skip to something else! Damn annoying.

In other news I picked up the car and faced the Bridge, although it did not all go well, there was chest scratching - it's all nasty and red now. This is terrible! I did manage to calm down when I called M, but the thing is when I have to pick up Dad on Sunday morning it'll be 6am so I can't call anyone. :O( Oh dear...

Well I'll have to figure something out...

But let's have Memes:

Friday Fill-Ins

So...here we go!

1. My favorite month is January because my birthday is in that month and it's summer time!

2. At various points during today I could have used a fresh breeze.

3. I love to sniff
new books - ooooo yeaaaah.

4. A nice pancake with syrup is what I like to have as a treat for breakfast.

5. The hobby I enjoy most is
writing!

6. It's almost 20 minutes to midnight oh my!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to
the gymnastics, tomorrow my plans include visiting my Grandparents and playing Canasta and Sunday, I want to survive picking up my father from the airport!

The (Other) Friday Five

1. Have you ever dressed up as a Disney character?

Nope. I've dressed up as Garfield though.

2. What was your favorite Disney movie growing up?

Oooh tough one...toss up between Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

3. Which Disney character can you relate to the most?

Belle! I too love to read! Although...I'm probably not as anxious to get out there to the 'great wide somewhere'.

4. Have you ever been to a Disney theme park?

Yes! The Original Disneyland and EuroDisney!

5. When does someone become "too old" for Disney?

Nevah! :OD

Hmmm...lack of Friday memes today, but there's still the Shipping Meme to do!

Day 16 - What is the absolute worst pairing?

Do you mean one that actually exists in canon or in fandom? To answer the first though it'd have to be Minmei and Lynn Kyle in Robotech because dude they're COUSINS and beyond that Kyle is a complete control freak and asshole.
In fandom? Oh where to start? But Harry/Snape is a new level of creepyness.

Still to come! )

And now, I shall be off while the going is good!

10:19pm: Well, interview rather, tomorrow at 12:45pm. Fingers and toes crossed yet again.

This morning I went to church to do the Powerpoint for my mother. It was all right, except I had to start off some of the antiphons (there wasn't any music so those are said instead) and me talking in front of crowds in large buildings isn't my idea of a good time. I had a lot of trouble getting the words out!

After that I went and got myself some more recordable DVDs at Aldi, then onto the library and I borrowed some interesting books, looking forward to reading those!

Not much else to report after that, in fact I think I sat down too much today because my butt hurt, LOL.

There was an interesting show on the SBS - about sexual attractiveness, cool stuff, they even had this old couple on there. You gotta love the old couples, they make you go 'awwww.'

And due to the lack of Tuesday Memes and because I'm generally interested here's that 30 Day Meme thing that's going around:

Day 01 – Introduce yourself, in great detail

Well! I'm Monica, known as Moose in real life and Anonymoose on the net. I'm 26 years old and am currently living with my parents because I'm unemployed. It's getting quite annoying, the lack of job, I've had lots of interviews, but I never seem to be able to get the job!
That aside, I love to write stories and read all sorts of books. I also have an obsessional nature and tend to get caught up in a fandom, I've gone from BTTF to Robotech, to George III, to Torchwood, to a particular Agatha Christie novel!
I'm emetophobic, but I'm about to try and get over that with my pyschiatrist - wish me luck.
I'm not very active I'm afraid, but I managed to avoid childhood fatness by being obssessed with trampolining, LOL! I bounced for hours everyday!
I love crime documentaries and documentaries about disaster investigations. I love words, but I suck ass at maths.

And I think that's a good lot of detail?

The rest! )

And a quiz:

You Are a Cat

You are agile and mysterious. You have you own way of navigating the world.

You enjoy exploring new ideas and places, but you also like to be able to retreat quickly.

You are a bit standoffish and aloof, but you aren't shy. In fact, you are brave and courageous.

Always resourceful and fearless, you can handle any situation. You are a survivor.

Er...no. Not like me at all.

And damn! I didn't realise there were two ad breaks in this program, I'll have to re-record it, because wants the point if having something on DVD if it's got ads in it?

Anywho, I better go down and check that the kitchen is relatively clean...which I just did and nicked myself slightly on a knife...ow!

So to all I say goodnight!
