11:29pm: The Fed-Express! He's at Wimbledon right now, playing for what could be his 8th Title! Of course, I'm not gonna be able to watch the whole thing because it's only just started and I suck at staying up late even if it's only for one night.

He's just broken serve, but who knows what's going to happen because he's up against a tough competitor! Not Nadal, but a super tall guy from Croatia who has beaten him once. So fingers and toes.

So, I'm here at Mum and Dad's place so Mum and I can watch the Final together, Mum suggested having a Wimbledon inspired supper of finger sandwiches, vanilla cupcakes with jam and cream and strawberries and cream. Very elegant! Mum took a photo of me, but it's not my best angle, LOL! I'm also wearing the Tennis T-shirt I got many years ago, hopefully it'll be good luck.

Anywho, I better make this entry quick as time is getting on and having done my Russian yet (I forgot yesterday and lost my eight day streak, boo) and my tablet battery is getting rather low.

Plus, it's not like I have much to report, I went to church, went to work, made the cupcakes and came over here.

And whoot! Fed-Ex has taken the first set, come oooon you can do it!

And now I shall wrap this up, goodnight all!

11:48pm: Yes! With it being Easter I get the weekend off from the library yet I still get paid! Sweet. Also good because I didn't do my laundry as usual this afternoon once I finished at Mrs S's because when I game home I procrastinated then when I went to my parents place to pick up my water bottle I left my bag behind necessitating a trip back there! Fail, LOL.

Anywho, it's been a good day all in all, although I'm rather sleepy which means this is gonna be a short entry - which considering that I didn't update yesterday is badly done of me! :OP Not that anything super exciting happened yesterday...I did get to have dinner with Mum and Dad before we went to Holy Thursday Mass which was nice.

This morning was interesting, I totally forgot that even though it's Good Friday they still have the Morning Markets at the sporting fields behind Mrs S's place. And because not many things are open today - it's a public holiday - it was a total madhouse there! Heaps and heaps of cars! I left my house a bit late so, you know, I ended up being extra late. Fail again. But Mrs S wasn't too annoyed, plus I got to show her my Pusheen purchases! I still haven't uploaded the photo yet! You'll have to wait on tenterhooks a bit more. :OP

And now, I'm off to bed.

11:43pm: OK, that's probably quite the exaggeration, but there's a definite chill in the air today, I had to find a cardigan to put on before going to church. (I can't seem to find my black cardigan, I'm sure I have one, scratches head.)

And of course, now that daylight savings has ended (sniff!) it was already dark by the time church ended, boooo. Also it's gonna be dark tomorrow when I finish work at the library, double booo, especially since I can't actually park near the library building anymore. I hope it's not rainy, it's being pouring down on and off tonight.

Anyway, I'm sleepy because as far my body clock is concerned it's nearing to 1am, so my brain is more frazzled than usual (LOL) thus it's difficult to put together a coherent entry, not that I have much to say.

Oh, wait yes I do! The little bro and I finally got over to M and Grandpa's house to talk about the cruise - they had bought delicious scones and even had strawberry jam and extra dollop, yum! Also...a fruit cake of some kind that was made by a friend. So that was cool. Although I didn't end up getting there early enough to start a Canasta game. However, I'll be going over not this Tuesday but next Tuesday which is sure to be fun!

Right, time is getting on so I better wrap this up here, I thought I did have something else to say but I dunno.

So, I'm off to bed!

10:57pm: OK, I might be exaggerating a bit on that, but during yesterday's and today's shifts my co-workers all made mention of my hair. I guess the hair cut I got is super stylish. All the same, it's a bit too short, I really must make sure the hairdresser doesn't cut it that short again, the sides keep falling out of my ponytail and trying to go up my nose! It sucks. :OP

Anyway, I ended up missing out on church today, I was planning on going this morning, but I was too slow in getting up and washing my hair and since I would need to catch the bus there I decided nah. Then this evening I called Dad to see if he was going to the 6pm service, but he's got a stomachache so he wasn't which would have necessitated stuffing around with Mum's car and yeah nuts to that.

However, I did manage to catch the wrong bus, it went the back way and while it was driving along I briefly considered going to church Dee Why (it is Lent after all!), but I'd have to take the bus back afterwards and it just seemed like it'd take way too long. So instead I got off at Narrabeen and walked home, stopping by the 7-11 to buy a sausage roll for dinner.

Not much else to report except I need to head to bed now because I'm getting up like half an hour earlier than usual so I can get my car to the mechanics. I'm slightly worried that my luck might continue to be shit and I'll end up not passing the safety check, but I'm sure I'm just being paranoid about that. I'm still worried about what will happen with the fine...for a brief moment I did think about begging the cop to let me off, but he did say he could have given me two tickets (the other for driving uninsured), but he only gave one, so I should be thankful for small favours. :O/ I'm not very hopeful at all that they'll cancel if for me. Suuuucks.

I should stop bitching now and hit the hay, tomorrow is going to be busy with both Mrs S and the library...wish me luck!

Goodnight all.

11:36pm: Ha ha, as you can see I obviously didn't have a title to go for this entry, but h ey it is what it is.

Anywho, today was a regular working at the library on a Sunday day, except for when I got a hair on my tongue which almost made me gag. Ugh, it was awful! I have no idea where it came from, though I'm pretty sure it was at least mine. Still gross.

Also, I got a phone call from M inviting me to come over on Tuesday - my birthday - for canasta and yummy food! Hooray! Although, one of my friends did get back to me about doing something on Tuesday, so whoops. Although I guess technically I could do something after finishing with M an Grandpa, but I have work the next day so...

Speaking of work, once again I've left updating the ol' journal too late for meme related sheninigans. Ugh, dang it! Didn't help I got distracted by House Hunters International, I'm still wondering why this couple with a kid wants a one bedroom. Surely you'd want two in that case? Although I guess they don't have the money or maybe just have the kid sleep in the loungeroom. Still weird to me, though. :OP

I also went to Church after work today, which was a good thing because they needed me to do the Powerpoint, although Dad managed to forget that it was Sunday and thus didn't show up! Poor Dad. :OP However, I'm over here at the parental abode because that's how I roll on Sunday nights. Also Mum told me to come and fix up the doona in the spare room. To my confusion the doona appears to be fine? Maybe Dad fixed it, seems like something he'd do.

Righto, I better head off now, I didn't get enough sleep last night because I did not go to bed early after all (shame on me!) and I have to take my External harddrive to the computer repair shop and get to the gym tomorrow and maybe come back here to help Dad move furniture because the carpet's getting steam cleaned on Tuesday.

And now, goodnight all!

11:40pm: So, I need to get to bed so I better make this quick.

Anyway, the point to my subject title is...my poor IBS decided to act up today, but it was my own fault for not having a proper breakfast...or lunch for that matter. I was just so excited for the last episode of the figure skating anime that I neglected to do it and by the time I thought about it, it was kind of too late.

Suffice to say things came to a head while I was volunteering at the library, ugh, it really sucked, I almost had a full-on panic attack and as it was I had trouble properly concentrating on the work I was given. I think I did all right though, except I left early and thus didn't get my usual two hours in.

But I did at least fell OK enough to get to the War Vets home to meet my parents at the Chapel there. They wanted to talk to the people there about playing music for the 4pm Christmas vigil. Apparently there wasn't going to be any actual music, just recordings so the people there were happy to have Mum and Dad there. So that's what will be happening Saturday afternoon, although I'm not sure how I'm going to play Canasta with M if I'm doing that.

Finally, I was watching the Russian Figure Skating Nationals online, but the internet suddenly decided to be a butt and I can't seem to load any streams. Booo. At least I saw the men's event! The ladies are on tomorrow so hopefully the net will be going again so I can see it.

But now I must go! I had a dream last night I was late for work with Mrs S and I don't want that to happen for real!

So I say goodnight!

11:55pm: This show I was watching just ended so suddenly I have to assume it was a two parter, because otherwise that was some crappy writing. It was called Suspects and was quite interesting I might have to check it out or at least find out if the episode really does have a second part, LOL.

Moving along, today was a very busy day! After checking my phone this morning at Mrs S I discovered that a stainless steel version of the kettle was available, just not at the Mall, apparently. There were some at Chatswood, but apparently Myer doesn't do transfers from one of their shops to another, you have to order them online and get them sent to you. But since I'd all ready bought the red kettle and would need to return it, it seemed to make more sense for me to go to the Chatswood shop and do the exchange there.

Mrs. S though, was of the opinion that a silver version could be lurking at the Warringah Mall shop, apparently the inventory on the cashiers' systems aren't all that. She's found products on the shelf there before despite being told their not in stock. So, we decided to go there once I finished up my carer/household duties. I went in my car and Mrs S took the bus and I only just arrived ten or so minutes before she did! LOL.

And as it happened, she was right! Or perhaps in an amazing coincidence the silver kettles had arrived the night before because not only did I manage to locate one, a model of it seemed to be on display. I swear it wasn't there yesterday! How bizarre.

So, I made a quick swap and then met up with Mrs S at another shop where she wanted to look at an air freshner thing, which she hoped was like a dehumidifyer but alas no, so that was a bust. However, she did manage to find her husband a birthday present, so that was good.

I meanwhile had no luck finding pinstripped pants, apparently they are out of fashion. This sucks! I actually looked on the internet to see if there were any, I must have put the wrong search term in or something because the closest I got was a pair of $6,500 ones from Calvin Klein (or someone like that)!

I did thought make some purchases of my own, some nuts for Dad, a new mobile phone holder for my car - one that sticks on the dash rather than grabs and scrapes up the air con vent and a second-hand Seasons 1 to 4 of Merlin. I totally forgot there was a Season 5! Ah well...Season 5 was well...disappointing on the whole I can buy that separately some other time.

After all that I went home for a bit before needing to go back out for Reconcillation at the church, that didn't take long, although it was a bit awkward when I came in and both priests were free! I wasn't sure which one to go to, LOL, I decided to go to the Parish Priest.

Anyway, I better wrap this up, I don't want to sleep in too much tomorrow because the last episode of the figure skating anime I've been watching will be waiting tomorrow morning to be viewed and I want to see what happens!

And lastly, Mrs S was nice enough to shout my lunch at the Mall, ha ha work benefits!

But for now, goodnight!

11:57pm: I just need to paint my nails! Except I can't do that until after I update this because I can't type with wet nail polish on can I? Not that I have a lot to type or a lot of time in which to do it.

I will say that after a hot day, the weather has decided to turn, it's raining and windy out there and all I can say is I hope my new Christmas tree shaped lights stay up out there, I've only got them stuck on the side of the house with super-strength sticky tape. I'd hate for them to get broken, I even bought another set this evening when I went to K-Mart after church to get some white shoes for tomorrow, so that I'd have enough to reach along the whole of the side of the Granny Flat.

I'm also relieved on behalf of all the families who went to the Carols at the nearby lake that this storm didn't come in until after the fireworks and the show wrapped up, otherwise it would have been a miserable night!

What else to report? Well, now that school's out the library was very quiet indeed, I wonder how it'll go tomorrow, I guess I'll have to find out next week since I'll be at the party!

I wonder if the big bro and family will come, there's a possiblity they won't depending on whether my niece is seriously jet-lagged. Although, I sure as Hell hope the weather calms down, otherwise the plane might not be able to land! But fingers crossed.

Right, it's actually after midnight now, but...I'll just put this entry at 11:59 and like I said, I better be off.

11:42pm: Sometimes my ovaries decide to be jerkasses and give me pain in the middle of the month, because apparently PMS and cramps aren't enough of a kick in the pants. So rude! It mostly behaved itself, but for about half an hour at work today I felt like I needed to lie down or something.

Although I couldn't quite tell if it was that or some sort of digestive thing so I ended up taking some of that anti-spasmodic stuff I have. It seemed to settle things down, but who knows that could have been a coincidence.

Anyway! After work I headed home to have a quick bite to eat - I ended up running late this morning with not enough time to pack lunch! I could have kicked myself for that because it's not like I woke up late or anything. I didn't even go ice skating!

But I had some lasagna and then headed off to church, I didn't end up going to Mum and Dad's place tonight because the little bro is coming over for dinner tomorrow so I'm going to say over Monday night instead, however I did meet Dad at church (Mum went earlier today). So that was fun! I didn't think he'd show up, especially when I got there and his car wasn't there, but as it happened he decided to take his scooter.

In other news, I have to hit the hay now, so alas this entry will be short and lacking in memes (it's been ages since I've done any too! I'm going to be behidn forever!), but I will report my house is still rather messy, however I have set up my Christmas tree! Ow My Knee

Oct. 29th, 2016 11:59 pm
anonymoose_au: (Default)
11:44pm: Weird! I wonder if I did something weird while ice skating this afternoon or if's just being an ass? Probably the latter as my knee is known for such sheningans.

Right I need to make this entry quick as I'm in the middle of my Russian and I need to go to bed sooner rather than later as church begins at 9:30am tomorrow morning.

Speaking of church, after I got home from ice skating I made cupcakes for the priest's farewell, fingers crossed that they've come out OK, I worried I might have overcooked them a bit, which would suck because I kept a close eye on them. I think they cook a bit more after I take them out of the oven though, so I best remember that.

After making and frosting the cupcakes (also I hope the frosting is OK! I should have used the medium sized mixing bowl as it turned out and I sort of played it by ear with the amounts of ingredients I added) I headed over to Mum and Dad's house for the night. At which point I spent the rest of the night watching TV, the new MacGyve still rather sucks, seriously, just 'cause Mac doesn't fire a gun doesn't absolve him of the fact his back up guy does. Original MacGyver would be so pissed.

I always enjoy my house shows though! Good times.

And oops, I just realised I forgot to bring the actual cable for my external hard drive so I can't open my Sims Thing! Ah well, we'll have to skip it this entry.

And now, I must be off!

Goodnight all!
anonymoose_au: (Pinkie Pie Bounce!)
11:33pm: Yep! And that's not just my own opinion, but that of my parental units and the priest who came over for dinner after church tonight. My little bro was supposed to come over, but alas he pulledut at the last minute, what a shame! I really should call him and see how he's going, I don't think I've even told him the exciting news about the apartment.

I also need to call my Uncle Sam and Aunt Jo to find out when I should come over with my Simpsons DVDs and to play Scrabble, they originally suggested this Sunday afternoon, but obviously that didn't go down.

Now, I did promise to have a more substantial entry today, but I forgot that I was going to be here at the parentals and therefore have my tablet, which doesn't have the greatest keyboard and doing he whole meme thing is a huge pain in the butt. I guessing could turn on the Bluetooth keyboard, but I'm a bit too lazy for that.

Oh dear, I just tried to turn it on and I've just discovered I didn't switch it off so it's out of charge, do'h! So there you go, it's not meant to be. :OP

What else to report? Not much although this week marks the beginning of my three and a bit work days with Mrs S! I hope I go all right! And then there's the interview on Friday, I remembered somewhat belatedly that at the moment all council jobs are on twelve month contracts and as my workmates pointed out the future is a bit murky what with all this council amalgamation stuff. Gulp! After speaking to Mum though I've reoncilled myself to this possibility if I get the job...at least I hope so!

OK it's quarter to twelve and I have to keep my zzzs up so I'll finish up here, goodnight all!
anonymoose_au: (Default)
11:45pm: Yes, now that I've got the net at my Granny Flat I don't need to haul my laptop when I go to my parents' place, which I'm currently at.

It took quite a while to get it going because I needed to update all the out of date apps on it, but as you can see I got it going eventually.

Anyway! I'm at the parentals because I helped them out at church this evening and they also had a small present for me that they picked up in Canberra, it's this super cool glasses cleaning cloth with a photo of a golden llama that was found in Peru! I'll be showing it to Mrs S tomorrow,I'm sure she'll be intrigued, Mum even printed off a page of info on it, how nice!

Dad also wanted to show off his new mobile phone to me, the one he had was a built old and he couldn't install any apps on it, so on my advice he looked for the cheapest unlocked handset he could get and bought it. It's an LG and very spiffy! I'm slightly jealous to be honest. :OP Oh well, my phone still works so...

Moving on, I'm still wondering about getting a proper fish tank, but I dunno...Mum doesn' feel it's necessary for Bet ta fish, but I think five deceased fish says otherwise. Perhaps I'll ask mrs S what she thinks.

Well, crap it's after midnight so I need to get my butt to bed quick smart! Sleep is needed!

Goodnight all!
anonymoose_au: (Pinkie Pie Bounce!)
10:01pm: Yes! Exciting news! I saw my parents in church tonight (I thought they went in the morning) and was able to tell Mum it hadn't come through and she's sent it over, so now for your interest here it be! You can see how it's 'L-shaped' thus making the bed area separate from the living area. Of course, there's no natural light in the bedroom area which is a bit of a drawback, but hey you don't have to walk through my bedroom so that'll be awesome.

In other news, today has been a bit annoying because I think I must have woken up in the middle of a deep sleep block because I've had tired eyes all day along with general sleepyness. What can you do? Apparently there's supposed to be an app that will set your alarm so that it won't wake you up at a bad time, but I'm not sure it would actually work without like a watch or something that actually detects if you're asleep because sometimes I fall asleep quickly and sometimes I don't.

Anyway, moving on let's try and catch up on some more Memes...finally! )

Okedoke, I better wrap this up now since it's 11:30 and my eyes are heavy, plus as always work calls tomorrow!

Goodnight all!

anonymoose_au: (I Don't Know...)
9:36pm: Right, let's start with the good news! I found my personalised Nutella label! I'd all put given up hope on it when suddenly I realised there was one last place it could be, my laptop bag, which I stuck in the left cupboard part of the buffet cabinet. And there it was, whoo! :OD

So that's a big relief, what isn't such a big relief is the fact that all the studio apartments in the development my mother and I looked at a few weeks back have sold - or at least had deposits put on them. :O( Awww, I was looking forward to living somewhere nice and new in the future...Although I suppose I should make sure I've got a sufficient income before I do that. Mum and Dad are of the opinion that it wasn't meant to be, and something no doubt will pop up, but I dunno...housing is getting more expensive! Experts keep saying there's going to be an oversupply of apartments and thus the price will fall, but they've been saying that for ages and it doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.

Then the weird news...I seem to have lost a cucumber...I got it and a carrot to have for dinner and then went into the main room to eat and got distracted and whilst I found the carrot the cucumber remains unseen! Which is awkward because I last saw it on my bed...so like it's in here somewhere. o.O Man, I hope not...I've looked, though and I cant find it!

What else to report...well as it turns out all my cleaning yesterday afternoon didn't pass muster, now admittedly I did forget to clean the fridge, but I gave the oven, microwave, shower and toilet a go. In fact the toilet is rather questionable...when I got there it had a stain in it that wouldn't come out, not even Mum could get it to sparkle again. I gave it a good hard scrub, but...you know. The shower was also a disaster, Shower Sparkle only works on a clean shower so there were all these streaks on the glass doors.

Anyway, the landlords said I could either do more cleaning or pay $50 from my bond and have their cleaner - who comes tomorrow - do it. In all honesty I'm someone who sucks at cleaning so I decided to cut my losses because chances were I'd go back and it still would pass muster.

In other news...Le Course by Le Tour De France is on this evening before the Last Stage, this is the women's bike race, unfortunately there's a problem with commentary at present! I have no idea who any of these ladies are or who's in the lead or what. You can hear the onsite commentary, but it's in French which I don't know so that's no help, LOL.

And I finally went to church tonight after missing two weeks - shame on me :OP - my parents also went so we sat together, they were supposed to bring my heater with them, but they forgot to look for it while they were at M and Grandpa's today. Ah well, I've got my electric blanket, although whenever I get up it's coooold.

Before I go, let's have a Meme or two! )

11:15pm: Well, true to form the weather has decided to go all extreme on us and the temperature has just dropped! According to my phone it was only 14 degrees C when I left work! Or 11 degrees when you accounted for the wind factor. I suppose that might have been incorrect, but usually my mobile is pretty accurate.

And it's set to be that chilly until next Friday.

Sigh, I suppose since it's winter the weather really should act like it is, but it still stinks, I had a singlet, shirt, jacket and coat and I was still chilly! Although admittedly I took the coat off whilst I was at church because I didn't want to become too acclimitised and then get all frozen once I left. I also ended up taking my jacket off at the library, but I was actually walking around and thankfully the air conditioning vents weren't blowing cold air today like last week.

Moving on, tonight my parents and I were meant to go to the celebration of our parish having almagamated with another one ten years ago, however, Mum ended up having to work at the Chinese restaurant that she sometimes casually waitress's at. She was meant to join us later, but Dad's back is playing up again, and in fact he wouldn't have come if not for the fact that Mum said I really wanted the book I left over there back. Which made me feel bad because dude I didn't need the book back that much!

Long story short, Dad went home right after church finished and I did too, mostly because of how cold it was and also because I don't really know anyone and I'm not actually sure I even like Indian food. Isn't it spicy? But I do wonder if Father Shiju - the priest that arranged everything - will be a bit disappointed that none of us came after putting our names down! (I'm pretty sure in the end Mum didn't go either...)

Although, someone needs to tell the choir/musicians at the church in Narrabeen to fix their sound levels, there was this high pitched noise on and off the entire service. As a person who is still relatively young and having not attended many concerts I still have quite good hearing and it was like nails on a chalkboard. I'm pretty sure even Dad could hear it and he did play a lot of loud music in his youth and doesn't have the best hearing.

Anyway...not much else to report beyond that, which is good because I should head for bed.

Before I go though, Meme!

Scattergories Part 6

What random letter was generated by the online random-letter generator (this doesn’t really count as one of your five questions)? I got W!

1. What brand or model of car, whose name begins with the letter, would you like to get? Ummm...is there even one out there? I'll cheat and say a car that runs on 'watts'! :O)

2. What summer activity, whose name begins with the letter, are you looking forward to? Walking in the nice warm sun.

3. What’s an item in your desk whose name begins with the letter? I don't exactly have a desk, but I think I have 'White-Out' in the stationery drawer of my buffet cabinet.

4. What’s something, whose name begins with the letter, that you find frightening? Weird noises!

5. If you had to get a tattoo on your upper arm, what’s something whose name begins with the letter that you could live with? I'd hate to have a tatt, but I suppose I could live with a 'water drop' I do love water after all.

That was fun! Now time to head off.

Although I gotta say, I'm rather confused by this family's decision on International House Hunters to buy two identical houses side by side. They've stuck one of their kids in one of the houses...but like what do they do with a whole extra kitchen? Also, who puts one of their kids in a whole other house even if it is only five metres away? People are weird.

I'll leave you to ponder on that, for now, goodnight!

11:14pm: I'm watching my housing shows and they've just shown us an 'extreme home' in Mexico, complete with a toilet that's at the top of an old elevator shaft, and the architect decided to make the floor of said bathroom of clear glass! It's double thickness so it's perfectly safe, but seriously! Imagine hurrying to the toilet and stepping out seemingly into the air! You'd probably crap your pants too! :OP

Moving on, I decided to go with a different activity tracker all together, a Jawbone Up Move, which was only 30 bucks, it doesn't come in green, but it does come in purple - plus you can buy holders for it from some place in China that come in all the colours of the rainbow so I got a green one from there. Apparently you can put it anywhere on your person, so that's cool! I'm not sure how long it'll take to arrive, but it's been posted from just a state away so hopefully not too long. I'll keep you all updated. (I'm sure you'll all be on the edge of your seats! :OP)

I decided to do this after checking all over the library today and near where I parked in the parking lot, as well as calling the two shops I went to at Supercentre yesterday with no luck. Damn shame, I've still got the wrist bands!

Speaking of the library, it was a quiet day today, although the rain was not as terrible as predicted it was still enough to keep most people away. For a while I considered not going to church, but since Mum and Dad were doing the singing and the rain wasn't very heavy I thought I should go. And I did the PowerPoint there for the first time! Nice. I did a good job, if I do say so myself, which was a good thing because it was another round of First Communion for some kids in the parish.

Anyway, I better do some Memes and run, bed calls! )

OK, time to go! Goodnight all!

11:13pm: That Aussie turn of phrase is very appropriate for today, I can tell you! Or at least one event of the day.

After another missed session of ice skating - I left on time, but once again my digestive system decided to act like a real ass with cramping and what not - I ended up down at Warriewood Square in the K-Mart looking at inline skates, or as we called them in my day roller blades. They were ridiculously cheap (30 bucks?!) and I figured..."What the Hell" and bought a pair, I thought perhaps they'd help me learn to skate better - maybe I could finally learn to skate backwards! :OP

Upon testing them out at a local park though I discovered this wasn't going to happen - first of all despite saying they'd fit sizes 5-8 my feet were really cramped in there and secondly ice is nice and smooth while pavement is not. Obviously, you get what you pay for and perhaps more expensive roller blades would work better, but these ones didn't wok very well - or perhaps it was just the pavement. Either way, I was not gliding and my lower shins started to ache almost immediately! After about ten minutes I decided "this sucks" so I wrapped them, put them back in their box and took them back. The wheels looked a bit scratched so I'm not actually sure what will happen to them, they probably can't be sold as new. Maybe they'll put them on the shelf I saw for "slightly damaged items".

After that fiasco I went to the Cookware place in the shopping centre where I bought a sugar bowl, so now I have a milk jug and a sugar bowl, although to be honest I'm not sure how often I'll use those. The sugar bowl was only six bucks though.

Then it was back home for a bit of a sit down before heading to work, which despite my digestive system still being sore was fun. Ah, books, how I love thee, let me count the ways! Although after a busy start things became very, very quiet and we sort of ran out of things to do! However, that did mean we closed on time for once, usually someone decides to come in at literally the last minute to borrow something, it can be very annoying.

After work it was church, which I was able to get to today in contrast with last week! The parental units were singing tonight and Mum's friend Mrs Lampe is staying so she was there too. I was a bit concerned when I saw that a group of kids were having their First Holy Communion, but unlike Baptism or Confirmation this particular sacrament doesn't make the mass super long. Which was good because Mum had invited me to come to dinner, I thought it was going to be at their house, but nope it was at the Chinese Restaurant across the street - I'd never noticed it there before!

Mum also invited the priest too, so that was nice, although there was quite a lot of discussion over what to order, we were going to go with the Banquet option, but the waitress said we'd end up paying too much that way - unless we're all big eaters. So we ordered individual dishes, including honey chicken, YUM!

I sort of ate and ran though because as you know I don't like driving in the dark all that much, but I made it back here without too much trouble. As I'm now typing up this entry!

Right, I better head off, even though I'm starting an hour later because of the public holiday tomorrow I don't want to muck up my sleep schedule too much.

So, no memes tonight! Instead I bid you all goodnight!

10:45pm: Well, I got up this morning ready for ice skating, but after taking my shower and putting on my clothes I started sneezing...quite a bit, as well as coughing. This was not good...so I decided to - sadly - forego the skating. Although after a while my nose cleared up and the coughing stopped, so I have the feeling it might have just been dust, perhaps from the dress I was wearing. It's a winter one and thus has been packed away, although it has been hanging in my wardrobe for a few weeks. Hmpf, maybe it's dust in there. Either way, quite disappointing.

However, I will try again tomorrow, I hope, guess it depends how I feel tomorrow! Perhaps I am a bit nervous about Mrs S's return and this is affecting me a bit. Bah!

Moving on from that, it was a much quieter day at the library, patronwise, there was however a looottta book returns. Fortunately, there's four people on Sunday so we managed to get pretty much everything shelved, yay! :O) Also rather interestingly, for the past few weeks there's been some discussion about whether we get a Sunday paper or not, so far in May there's been no sign of it, but I parked out the front of the library today and saw a newspaper on the pavement at the front of the building. It would appear that it's ours, but if so, they're delivering it in a bad spot, it's not at the front door to the library, but the council offices. I usually don't park there, I only did so today because I was running a bit behind, hmmm...probably should have wrote that observation down in the diary. Bit late now, I'll check the front of the council offices next week to see if the paper is there again.

Right, just finished up my Russian as I left it a bit late, so I'll have to make the rest of this entry quick. After work I went to church and then to the parental unit's place for a delicious roast dinner! It was very much appreciated, because the weather continues to be cold, it's time to take a coat - not just a jacket - with me, I practically froze my butt off in church!

Speaking of clothing, I figured out what to do with my collar from my purple shirt...except...I kinda stuffed it up and have to redo it, which is a bit of a pain! It all has to do with the hemming, I should have ironed it too make it lay flat as well as pin it. I suppose this is only a problem in so far as it uses up more thread and I'm slightly worried I might run out of it! But 100 metres is quite a lot of thread right, so I should be OK.

Before go...Meme! )

Right, better head off!

Goodnight all!

Edgy...

11:07pm: I did get to the ice skating rink this morning before work and I did indeed feel much more secure on my skates! :OD It was quite good going in the morning...I'm tempted to do it from now on, but...I was getting rather tired by the end of the day and also my feet hurt. But I'm not sure if that had to do with the skating...I'll have to consider this further I suppose.

The only mistake I made was with parking, I parked my car on a whole different level then I usually do and after finishing skating it had a Hell of a time finding my car again! It didn't help that the mall actually intersects the carpark and splits it in half. But eventually I went the right way and headed off to Mona Vale. I had planned to pop home, but there wasn't enough time, lucky for me I'd brought along my Missal so I was good for church.

Speaking of work, I looked in my pigeon hole - which I often forget to do - and found something most exciting! It was a letter from management, I've been giving a pay rise, woohoo! :OD I now get thirty bucks more a week! Sweet! Although that's before tax, and alas I do get taxed because you can only have one tax-free threshold job listed...which incidentally is something the Government could stand to look at. I mean I do get most of it back at the end of tax year, but I'd prefer to have it throughout the year rather than all in one go.

While at the mall I also bought the new Mirco-SD card from JB Hi-Fi, it certainly makes a different to the Criminal Case app, my Simpsons one is still a bit sluggish, but that might be because I had too many windows open. I must make sure I remember to close them.

And alas, I have no time for Memes tonight because I forgot to do my Russian until now and I better do that before I lose out on my 30 day long streak! Although admittedly some of those days I used a "Streak Freeze" but I'd rather not do that :OP

Goodnight all!

11:35pm: It's Eurovision Time of Year again and I've really got into it since Australia started competing, LOL I guess the Aussie spirit of wanting to win shit has got to me. It doesn't hurt our songs have been really good. In fact...we almost won this year! :OD Actually who did win is a bit of a controversy...on the one hand Ukraine's song was pretty good, but on the other Russia's was actually awesome. Russia won the popular vote, but the official Eurovision juries hardly gave them a look-in. So it almost looks like the official line was to give Russia the finger because...Putin.

Unfortunately, I don't think a political leader has ever been overthrown based on the results of Eurovision. It'd be nice if Russia would back off from Ukraine and Crimea though.

Of course watching this means I haven't had time to update this and I don't have any time to really write about anything else.

But I must give a big cheer to my parents who played my two favourite hymns at church today, woohoo! Love it! :OD

Anyway, better wrap this up, hopefully I'll have time to write more tomorrow.

For now, goodnight!
