11:28pm: There's not a lot to say about it probably, since all the competitiors have to wear white, but they've got a Frenchman playing and his got a bushy beard! LOL I've never seen a tennis player with a beard before! Actually that seems to be an athlete thing, I know body hair is the enemy of swimmers, divers and cyclists, but you don't see other athletes with them either. Hmm, maybe it's all the sweater.

In other news, I'm relieved to report that I've managed to get through a road block in my fan fic! I've been stuck on it for the past few days, but finally some inspiration hit. Yay, go me!

So I didn't end up updating yesterday after all because that's how I roll, but let it be said, it was a great get together for my cousin Mack's birthday. Some of his maternal cousins were there, who I don't think I've met before, interesting people.

I had a cheese burger with chips on the side (I also put the lettuce that was in the burger on the side, because who wants warm lettuce? Why is that a thing anyway?) Very nice, although the cheese could have been meltier, it's hard to find good cheese.

Mack liked the Google gift card my little bro and I got for him - which reminds me I forgot to give the little bro my bank details so he can pay me back, whoops! - and the card I made. I drew Mr Burns in his "Excellent" pose since we enjoyed the play.

Aunt Jo made a rather interesting cake with caramelised apple and...I'm not sure what else, not chocolate though, because my aunt doesn't cook with chocolate. But there was dollop cream to go with it so yuuum!

Plus let's not forget the fact I took a paid day off work, so yay!:O)

Anywho, it's ten minutes to midnight now, so I better go, I've got work tomorrow at 9:30am and I need to make sure I get the proper amount of zzzs.

Wish me luck with my story and goodnight all!

11:17pm: Yeees, George III's birthday was a couple of days ago 4th June! Happy Birthday to the Monarch who's collection became the nexus of the British Library.

In other news, this is a creepy as Hell episode of Cold Case...I mean they usually are, but this one has a sick pedophile, so yeah, gross. There's a lot of sickos out there.

Not much else to report, although I did get my volunteering done at Dee Why Library as well as my paid shift at Mona Vale. Although, I'm not really looking forward to that bullshit training thing I have to go to on Thursday, I spoke to a colleague who went to the session that was on this morning and it sounds like the biggest wank. The only upside is I'll be paid for my time, but still...there's other stuff I could be doing, like writing my fic! I've slowed down in writing it, I don't want to lose the mojo...I'm think I should bring a notebook to that stupid training thing and write in it like I used to do at school. Hah that'll take me back.

Anyway, it's getting late and I need to wrap this up so I can get to sleep ASAP once Cold Case finishes, which is soon! Although this entry is seriously lacking, sorry about that - although I sure feel like I'm saying that a lot :OP I should get an interesting hobby!

And that's all I have to say about that.

11:27pm: Indeed! I finally got around to making a card for the occasion! I pride myself on my homemade cards, but I've been slacking on them lately. But I made one for Mum, yaaay! Although not for my little bro, who's birthday was yesterday. I thought I was going to see him at the Mother's Day Brunch at my Uncle's place but alas he's sick and wasn't able to come (sick for your birthday, that suuucks), so I called him to wish m a belated birthday. I left him a message at first since he didn't answer, he called me later though.

Sadly the weather was not very nice today, all rainy in fact when I drove over to my uncle's place it was totally bucketing down, I couldn't even hear the radio over it! Luckily, it let up but it was still pretty dreary.

However, work at the library was still pretty busy because it was Code Club day, which is a monthly computer thing that is popular with kids - there were thirty of them there this time! However, my feet were positively aching by the end of the shift. However, they're fine now...so I don't know if this is a sign of an issue with the shoes or if I'm just adjusting to the orthodics or what? It's puzzling I tells ya! The shoes are stiffer than the ones I had before, so maybe I just need to break them in?

What else to report? Not much, which is good since it is getting late and I should be getting ready to hit the hay and since I'm at my parental units' place I need to get the couch ready to lie on :OP

Before I do that though...drumroll please...a Meme!

:The Getting to Know You Questions:

1. What is your occupation right now? How long have you been there? I have two, three mornings a week I'm a personal carer for Mrs S, I've been working for her for nearly two and a half years now, wow! On the weekends (and a shift here and there) I work as a library assistant in Mona Vale and I've been there for...nearly two years. Niicce.

2. Favorite rock band. Ever. EVER? Man that's a tough one...do The Corrs count as rock? If not I'm gonna say The Beatles.

3. What are you listening to right now?
A house show Mum recorded, we enjoy watching the house shows together on Sunday :O)

4. Last person you spoke to on the phone. What was it about? The little bro, about his birthday and is badly time sickness!

5. How old are you today? Or make up a question. This one bites. Can't think of another question so I'll answer this one, 33.

6. What is your favorite sport to watch on TV? Figure skating for the win!

7. What is your favorite drink? Iced water...or iced chocolate.

8. Have you ever dyed your hair? Nope, I'm too lazy to do it myself, too cheap to have it done at the hair dresser and I wouldn't want to mess it up and be stuck with it!

9. Favorite food? CHEEEEESE!

10. What is the last movie you watched? Finding Dory on DVD.

11. Favorite day of the year? Oooh, that's a toughie, I'll say Christmas, because hey it's Christmas!

12. How do you vent anger? Not well, mostly with yelling and crying. :O/

13. What was your favorite toy as a child? My imagination :OP Also my dollshouse.

14. Living arrangements? (Of course your pets count. Geez!) I live in a Granny Flat with my fish, Fishenko. :O)

15. What was the last thing that you cried about? Uh...you know I can never remember, I mean I remember crying, but not what it was about.

16. Who is the friend you have had the longest? I guess it'd be Edith? But we're not so much in contact these days, so I'll say Zep. We've known each other since I was about 13! Edith too, actually, so yeah!

17. What did you do last night? Hung out online and watched house shows.

18. What are you most afraid of? Throwing up.

19. In how many areas of your country have you lived? What's your favorite? I was born in Canberra and lived with my family for five years in Dubbo, which is in the country and of course here in Sydney. And despite my feeling when we moved there I gotta say Sydney has been the best. (Although Australia's a huge place, and I've only lived on the east coast!)

20. What is your favorite flower? (Ugh. Quite the note to go out on. But hell, we steal the questions. I guess you get what you pay for.) I love red roses! :OP

Okedoke, that's my cue to exit, it's ten minutes to midnight!

11:18pm: On this house show I watch on Sunday night. It's called Flip This House and it follows different flippers (as they call them), but I tell ya the last few episodes have been full of Angry Guys, like all yelling and swearing at each other. Can't you boys just get along? :OP

In other news, I finally remembered to get the box my mother found in M and Grandpa's garage from the boot of my car, although with all the rain that's been going on it hasn't really been that feasible. But the rain finally let up this afternoon so when I finished work and popped home before heading to church I carried it, my cupcake carrier (which I got from Mum earlier) and my box of the first few seasons of The Simpsons (which I'd lent to my Uncle Sam and his family and also got back earlier) into the granny flat.

Mum said there were clothes in the box, but imagine my surprise when I opened it and started to go through to find all these clothes I really like but hadn't been able to find! I have no idea why the ended up in M and Grandpa's garage, among them were my Garfield satin pjs, a few of my favourite t-shirts, a dress that'd been super good for the beach and stuff like that! I'd been wondering where it had got to for ages!

This why you have to be careful where you put things when moving!

Anyway! Grandpa's birthday party was great! Although I was only able to be there for an hour (boo), but I got to see M, Grandpa, Aunt Weed, her fiance Pete, Uncle Sam, Aunt Jo, cousin Mack and my parental units. Good times, good times. Although it was super humid today so that was a bit uncomfortable, good thing I wore one of my sundresses!

Aunt Jo kindly cooked sausages early so I had something to eat before I headed off for work - although as it happened the traffic was good (of course) so I ended up being early. I went to look around the shopping centre and got a call from my friend, Ben inviting me to go to the beach (although it was still pretty cloudy at that time!) but alas I couldn't go. Boo! As it happened the weather cleared up during the day and judging from the photo he posted on Facebook it turned out to be quite a nice day.

Speaking of Facebook photos, some people uploaded photos they took, including the group shot! I'm sure you can spot me. :O) And see everyone seems so tall! I thought my heels were a decent height.

Right, I better be off! I've got work tomorrow morning and I still have my Russian to do before I turn in. Let's all hope my bank card arrives tomorrow! I owe Mum another fifty bucks and Mrs S a hundred (I may see if I can send her that money by direct debit, guess it depends what she wants).

Oh and I almost forgot, I went to my parental units this evening after church (they and Mrs Lampe came so we all sat together) so I got delicious lasagna and salad for dinner. Alas the little bro was meant to come, he also missed the party this morning, but he wasn't up to it - apparently he partied a little too hearty last night.

For now, though, goodnight!

11:06pm: Not my epic recounting of the cruise (I'm afraid with the late start to this entry there'll still be a few more days to go with that!), but the fiction book about Russia I've been reading since - I kid you not - mid-November last year! It had 1006 pages in it! Plus as the distractable person that I am, I felt the need to read other books around it, so it all added up there. Anyway, it was a pretty good read!

But without further ado...Dad's Birthday Dinner! )

I'm not actually sure that's an approved method...I guess as long as they don't end up making other people obsessive, because the guy that's on right now takes four hours to wash his dishes!

Anyway, time is getting on so I better get a move on! First up, I finally go the Chou Chou Train video in a sharable format. 11:25pm: Apparently today is Stephen Hawking's 75th Birthday! That's pretty amazing, especially when you consider that on receiving his diagnosis all those years ago he was given like 6 months to live or something like that. That's kicking the odds in the face! You go, Professor Hawking!

In other great news, I took my External Harddrive to the computer shop in Collaroy and he was able to take the case apart and put it in a different case with a little attachment thing that works. Hooray! It cost me $50 but this is considerably cheaper than having to do specialist type data retrieval. Plus I don't need to buy a whole new drive to back stuff up to. Yaaay!

And more good news there was a Fast 4 Tennis tournament tonight, it was Australia vs the World and we won! :OP Although we were represented by Nick Kygrios and Bernard Tomic otherwise known as the two biggest jerks in tennis! Although their behaviour was OK this tournament so perhaps they've finally taken up the advice to see sports psychologist. Although I didn't actually watch Kygrios but that's what my friend said over Facebook messenger.

And lastly...a new ep of Air Crash Investigation is on right now, sweeet! Although, I shouldn't stay up too late to watch it all, there's work tomorrow after all.

But before I turn in let's have a Meme

Sunday Stealing

24/09/2016

: The "Doing Questions Like It's 2003" Meme"

1. Tell us about your pets. If you don’t have one, share why you don’t. I have a Siamese Fighting Fish called Plushenko. He's a beautiful teal and black and he lives in a nice 16L tank on my cabinet. I was a bit worried about him when I got home after work today, he seemed a bit listless, but he seems better now. Phew! (My previous four fish died in quick succession, it was rather sad)

2. Name three things that are close to you. Like literally? My mobile phone, a block of Cadbury chocolate and a book about overcoming anxiety issues.

3. How was the weather for your summer? We're still in summer and so far it's been quite warm indeed.

4. What was the last film you saw? Did you like it? It was the new Ghostbusters film at my friend's house and I liked it a lot!

5. Tell us about the last trip that you took. Uh...it was ages ago back at the end of 2014 when I to Bathurst to get my Masters in Information Studies. My parents came along too, although they went a day earlier and I met them in Lithgow after coming in on the train.

6. Where do you buy groceries? Why? Usually from Warriewood Square, especially since an Aldi opened over there. As for why, it's the closest shops to me!

7. Tell us something that you did today. Or will do if you haven’t had your morning coffee yet. I don't drink coffee :OP And today I went to the gym, good times.

8. Have you pulled an all-nighter? Not intentionally, once I couldn't get to sleep at all because I read the prologue of the Jaws novelisation and it scared the Hell outta me!

9. Can you taste the difference between Pepsi & Coke? Don't drink either.

10. Tell us about your siblings. How many and what do they do? I have two brothers, one older and one younger. The eldest lives in Japan with his wife and baby daughter and he works in the legal department of a bank I think? My younger brother lives a few suburbs away, but we don't see him much and he works at a warehouse.

11. What’s the oldest thing that you own? Well, I do have a vest from my mother which she sewed herself back in the 70s, so I'm gonna say that.

And I gotta run now, it's actually past midnight, but I was trying to do my Russian so um, let's just pretend it isn't. :OP (Still Happy Birthday to me! :OD)

Good News

Reach for the laser with Antic's Sims-ulator!
anonymoose_au: (Default)
11:30pm: Yes indeed! And my big bro, sister-in-law and little niece have headed off back to Japan. Ah, it's been good having them here, although it's not like I saw them all the time, but it was fun while I could. In fact, just yesterday I had the experience of holding a baby, which I haven't done before, because as I've mentioned before perhaps, I don't really want to hold a baby because they seem way too squishy and the thought kind of freaks me out. However, yesterday my big bro was trying to show me how to do something on his i-Pad and I didn't do it right so he was like "Hold the kid, I'll fix it."

So, I got to hold a 10 month old, who fortunately wasn't too squishy, although she was heavier than I expected :OP. Suffice to say though, I don't have much of a maternal instinct, so I didn't end up all "coo-ey" and what not. I'm just happy to report my niece didn't poke me in the eye, LOL!

So, today was another day off from work at the library for me, yay! However, I realised this evening while checking my shifts that I've put my hand up for not just Tuesday and Thursday this week, but Wednesday and Friday too! Which normally wouldn't be an issue, but though my foot is feeling a lot better (even after all the walking yesterday) I'm a little concerned that this might lead to a flare-up. There's not much I can do about that, though...except not wear those enclosed sandals I bought since I'm not entirely sure they've got proper arch support. Here's hoping the anti-prespirant I got for my feet will hold up with the other shoes.

Anywho, the point about having the day off is that I went and saw my friend who wasn't able to come to the New Year's Eve fireworks today, we watched some John Oliver and Galaxy Quest as well as having lunch with her parents. It was fun! :O)

I also made the cupcakes for Mrs S's husband's birthday tomorrow, although I need to finish the frosting before I go to bed, good thing I can get up a bit later in the morning because of the public holiday (which means I only do two hours instead of four) since I won't finish by midnight!

I did make an unfortunate discovery when I came home from the parentals before heading off to my friend's place, I'd left the fridge ajar! Which meant my butter was soft for the cake, but there was no way the milk I just bought on Friday was salavagable. What's really annoying is that I came back to the Granny Flat to collect a number of things before leaving on Saturday and at no point did I notice the fridge door wasn't closed properly. Man, I hope the landlord's power bill won't be horrifying.

Right! I better be off, though I was hoping to get back into the swing of things re: memes, but once again time calls me away.

11:50pm: Yeah, yesterday as I was coming home from the parental units place I popped by the 7-11 to get some milk and decided to pick up one of these Santa belly Krispy Kreme donuts, which are super cute looking. I didn't eat it last night because I'd all ready had quite a few sweet, but I warmed it up for dessert tonight and let's just say it was not the best decision. It was just waaay to sweet, my stomach felt so weird afterwards that I almost had a panic attack!

Bah, I don't even care for Krispy Kreme donuts anyway so I don't know what the Hell I was thinking...

Anyway, that was basically the most activity I got done today I'm sorry to say...my mother ended up going swimming in the morning so there was no reason for me to go over since I wouldn't be able to go swimming myself and my big bro was having friends over, so...

I probably should have gone out, lying around all day is no good for me...or my step count. :OP I hope to rectify that tomorrow with not just work but going swimming with Mum at M and Grandpa's place.

Oh! And my the landlord's wife dropped off a small present for me today! How nice of them! I should have at least given them a card...shame on me.

But! It's nearly midnight so I better haul, before I go...I wrote a little fic for my friend [personal profile] crossover_chick for her birthday! Happy Birthday, Vic! This is the first writing I've done in a while so I'm totally rusty...

10:59pm: He's 34 years old, which was (is) Marge's ages at the beginning of The Simpsons! Which makes me feel quite old...

Which might explan why I felt so crap today, which thoroughly sucked because it started out so well with the sub of the figure skating anime and I was feeling generally good when my digestive system decided to act like a total bitch and panicking.

Which totally sucked especially with Mum being out of the country. Sigh me, pull it together!

I did at least get to the Library for my volunteering, and picked up the final season of MacGyver DVD that I had on hold and the latest Patricia Cornwell book which hopefully won't suck.

I then went to my parents' place to drop off a container and once again hunt for the anxiety book. And I'm immensely relieved to report I found it! Thank God.

Dad came home after 4pm, turns out he still does bus duty and I did plan to go home, but with the abdominal pain I've ended up staying over.

So, I better head off now, with any luck my abdomen will be better tomorrow.

11:17pm: And just as I posed that question he finally calls him 'Grandpa' on this episode I'm watching, LOL. The rest of the time though he calls him by his first name, which if you ask me is weird. Although having just typed that I'm again reminded that my aunt sometimes calls her own father "Mick" so, you know.

In other news...I was about to write something else and I've just forgotten what it was! Oh yeah that's right, it was pretty warm today, warm enough that I decided I needed to set up the air con. Unfortunately...it didn't all go to plan, first of all, the outlet tube thing doesn't reach the window properly, secondly when I was trying to open the window the adjusting wand thing for the venetian blinds got caught, but I didn't notice until it snapped. Fuuuck, now I have to figure out how to replace it.

Not sure what to do about the outlet tube though...I did sort of get it to reach the window, but the window opens out not up so there's no way to secure it there.

Annoying. :O/

Also annoying is that ever since I updated my Simpsons Tapped Out game it keeps crashing on my phone! This never used to happen, and it means I can't play it, quite the bummer. :O(

And oh shit, I just realised I totally neglected to send my Uncle Sam a birthday SMS! I guess I can do it now, although if he's all ready in bed it might wake him up...

Speaking of which I gotta get my butt to bed myself!

11:38pm: Yes indeed! I realised that today at his belated birthday party at Uncle Sam and Aunt Jo's place. OMG, that's so weird...O.o Also makes a person feel old as Hell, because my cousin, Mack is now thirteen, officially a teenager! Man...that was the age I started to keep a diary...a written one, which I kept up pretty well until I got LJ, at which point I couldn't be bothered keeping two diaries at once. Hmmm, I should make a trip to Newtown and see about digging those things up...or maybe not, I've been doing a lot of looking back at the past lately and it seems to be bumming me out more than anything. On the other hand...it could just be the moving. I'm worried that despite the new furniture - turns out I'm going to stick with getting the expensive one because the one at Target is rather rickety and the one at Fantastic Furniture would fit really great in my (hopefully!) future studio apartment - and second hand white goods I'm not going to like that place. :O( I remain unsure about the ceiling height, I've got so used to the vaulted ceilings here...

Anyway, I opened this entry like an hour ago, but only started writing in it just now, which means I really don't have time to meme or anything! Boo! That'll teach me to procrastinate.

In other news, my big bro sent me another email! According to Mum he's a new man now that he's got a child and everything. :O) It's quite nice to actually get proper emails from him, although I haven't actually replied to him yet.

Anyway, it was a pretty good day, although my IBS did decided to be a bitch so I wasn't as animated as I usually am at the family gathering, but considering how I usually monopolise a conversation this was probably a good thing. My cupcakes were well received! :O)

Right, it's ten to midnight so I gotta get myself to bed, it's gonna be a busy week! Especially with packing stuff...I could have sworn I had extra baskets, but when I went to the Grandparental Garage after the birthday party there were no free ones to be found! I did at least get some plastic tubs. Still bit a mystery to me.

Wish me luck!

It Worked!

May. 14th, 2016 11:41 pm
anonymoose_au: (Pinkie Pie Bounce!)
11:18pm: The Colour Rescue stuff worked on my stripped long-sleeve shirt. Last week I washed it with a red shirt and it the white stripes turned pink! I suppose it wasn't exactly a disaster, but it didn't right. However, I wasn't sure the Colour Rescue stuff would work...Dad used some on Mrs S's white jacket, and it didn't entirely work, although he got most of the pink off in the end after using two satchets.

And I'm sure you're not very interested in that, LOL. Although, it's pretty cool that only the colour you don't want is removed. I guess its because the dye isn't as completely soaked in...Makes me wonder if I could have rescued those green underpants my father ruined many years ago by putting them in with dark stuff.

Moving on! I think my IBS has finally settled down, which is good because tomorrow morning I'm supposed to meet my parents and little bro at a cafe for a belated birthday celebration. I did skip the ice skating though, which I'm a bit sad about, although considering my knees are sore right now it was probably a good decision. Plus i think I need to get my skates sharpened before I go out on them again.

Apart from that, not much else to report, except my friend Ben is visiting from Darwin - where he lives now - this week! We have to meet up! I wonder if I can get my other friend - who I keep forgetting to call! - and we can all meet up. Ooo! Perhaps for Mini-Golf! I hadn't thought of that, good idea me.

Right, better do a Meme or two!

Friday5

How Did You Learn to Do That?

1. How did you learn to throw a ball? Not well. Seriously, though I can't actually throw a ball, I'm like Mr Burns, I end up aiming it into the ground about a metre in front of me.

2. How did you learn to drive? My parents' taught me! Mum was really gung-ho about getting me onto real roads, she had me driving over the Harbour Bridge on like my third or forth go in a car! o.O

3. How did you learn to swim? I had swimming lessons at the public pool in Dubbo. I never got freestyle down, but I managed to do it well enough to get the certificate.

4. What is the most recent thing you learned how to do from an online tutorial? Make a plushy! It doesn't look quite right so I have to redo it, but close enough...

5. How did you learn most of your social etiquette? Mostly from M telling me off :OP i.e Don't put your elbows on the table, use that knife not that one etc.

The (Other) Friday Five

These questions were written by twinklette on LJ.

1. How many pets have you had at one time? Hmm, we did have a couple of gold fish and Frankie my canary at one point, so that's about it.

2. What is the strangest pet you have ever had? Well, I kind of considered The PLANT as a pet for a bit, LOL. But that's about it.

3. What is the coolest trick you have ever taught a pet? I got nothin'. I used to hold Frankie when Mum cleaned out his cage and he was very well-behaved! :O)

4. Real animals: What animal have you always wanted as a pet? A kind of always wanted a dolphin...although he'd be more a friend, because obviously he'd live in the ocean and I come visit.

5. Imaginary animals: Describe the ideal pet, an animal that doesn't really exist. Ah, hmm...I dunno, I've never really thought about it...maybe a penguin who can live in your house, LOL!

OK, time to hit the hay, gotta keep my sleep up!

10:58pm: Yes and if I don't wake up early enough there won't be time for M and I to finish our game. M's currently winning, but I'm not doing too bad.

However, I did manage - after all my hard work to forget to bring the cupcakes along! Son of a - I was able to buy chocolate muffins which went over well.

So yes, here's to a very short entry and hopefully something more coherent tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to Grandpa! He's 85.

For now, good night!

11:41pm: Yes! To my surprise Mum and Dad didn't just pop by for a quick visit, they came for dinner and invited the little bro along too!

Fortunately, Mum made the dinner since I certainly didn't have anything prepared, of course the new place wasn't quite up to parental standard, but I got it there eventually...

Also, the older bro called too, for Dad's birthday, although he was quite annoyed because Mum was meant to call him like an hour before he finally called us. He called Mum through Facetime though, so it's not like he was spending a lot of money, but still that must have been annoying for him. Especially since Mum was so busy with the dinner she didn't answer any of his messages asking where she was.

Anyway, the cupcakes tasted delicious, especially with the double cream and sprinkles on top, although I really let the presentation down with not putting patty pans in the tray, half the cupcake was left in the tray when Mum pried them out. Boo. It was a silcone tray, which I've now thrown out because it got cuts in it.

In other news, I can record stuff from catch-up TV apps through my Blu-Ray player to my laptop with the analogue to digital converter! Whoot! I all ready got some figure skating done.

Speaking of which, there was meant to be figure skating on today, which I forgot to record, but it hasn't shown up on SBS on Demand, I hope it does pop up soon...Bit of a worry that.

And now, I have to go so I can get up on time to meet my friend down at the book sale, and possibly go to the Warriewood Shopping Centre beforehand to get a new water cooler thing and an external hard drive.

So now, I say good night!

11:32pm: Yes indeed! Three of my friends have birthdays today! What are the chances? I think I've asked this before but I never did figure it out...or rather I never asked Google to figure it out for me because I sure as Hell can't do that.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to see any of them today so I've sent birthday wishes over Facebook, although one of them is in Sydney, they're nowhere near the suburb I'm in, and of the other two one's all the way over in Wales and the other Darwin.

Ah well, I hope they had a good day.

In other news, I'm getting to the end of the moving now, mostly I'm just taking things in bags now, except for the tapes, which I've had to put on the shelves I used to put my books on because I don't actually have a box/basket/tub to put them in at present. I did manage to fit the spare cases in the tub with the others so that's cool!

I've ended up putting my Christmas decos and the tub of winter clothes back in the walk-in wardrobe because those are going to M's place.

In the meantime, I've connected up the laptop with the Foxtel and I'm getting the programs I want to keep off it. Hopefully, I'll have enough time! Also, I'm relieved that I can use the HDMI and analogue input cable thingies at the same time so I can watch on the big screen. :O)

Also! Work at the library went very well today :O) I was even complimented for how I helped someone who was trying to figure out how to catch a bus using an app. Go me. However, I did manage to leave my water bottle behind, do'h! I put it down and told myself not to forget it...and I did.

And still no luck on the toilet brush front, although I can confirm Adli didn't sell a matching toilet brush. As for Target well, I did see a possibility there, although it's still 25 bucks. Gee maybe I should just buy it...or resign myself to getting a cheapass white plastic one.

And having seen the time I've realised I better haul ass! I have to take all the bags and shredded stuff downstairs before I head off to work tomorrow, so I have to be ready to face the day!

Speaking of the shredder, I thought I'd broken it at one point by sticking too much in it, but once it cooled down it started going again, so thank God, I won't have to buy a new one!

Right, now I'm off, goodnight all!

11:00pm: Who is he? Well, it's some guy who lives in the house behind the granny flat - or a friend of said owner. It's quite annoying because dude it's 11pm at night! You can do this shit at a day time party, but it's nearly midnight and I have to go to bed soon so I can be bright and refreshed for tomorrow morning. To say nothing of poor N, the landlord who has to get up at 5am tomorrow, I wonder if he's managed to nod off?

Oh dear he's getting louder back there. I'd go outside and tell them to quiet down but I don't think I can yell loud enough for them to hear!

Anyway! Today was M's birthday and to celebrate we finished our game of Canasta from last time and...I won! Hooray! Although that wasn't very nice of me on her birthday, XD But she like the card I made with the water dragons on it (although at first she thought they were frogs) and the chocolate covered figs. Although you can tell they were expensive because the packed called them 'chocolate enrobed figs'.

The little bro was a bit late in arriving, but I did get to show him my car, he was very impressed particularly with the mag wheels. :O) And of course the colour, gotta love that green!

He brought flowers for M - on Mum's advice - and after I lent him a pen to write on his card I headed for Macquarie and ice skating! But alas, it was very slow going, at first the road seemed quite empty and I thought I was going to have a dream run, but then suddenly everything came to a stand-still. It turned out that there was an accident at a main intersection. Bugger.

Eventually, I got to Macquarie ten minutes after 2 and managed to find a parking space and get the ice rink by quarter past. So I got 45 good minutes of skating in, yay! :OD Although I wonder if my skates need sharpening again...if so I wonder if I should use the sharpening service offered at the rink (well it's not on site, but the skates are taken away and then brought back) or go to the ice skating shop which is a bit of a drive. Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

After I finished skating I went to Myer and Target hoping to find a purple shirt because the one I bought from Lifeline is too small! Well, it fits but it's too short so my midriff shows and I was going to church, you can't show your midriff in church! But no luck, so I decided to pop by the larger Vinnies in Crows Nest, since I figured they'd probably have something.

So I got there and at first it looked like a wasted trip! But then I found two possiblities one a business-like shirt and the other a t-shirt with interesting sleeves. The business shirt was too small even though it was size 12, but the t-shirt despite me being a bit leery about the sleeves fit very well and I ended up really liking the sleeves, they're flattering! I should take a picture to show you.

Anyway, the t-shirt purchased it was off to church where I changed in the toilet block before heading into the church itself. I'd forgotten my Missal sadly, but ah well, I survived. :OP Although I was very sleepy and we had the priest who likes to say the long-form stuff and at a few points I almost fell asleep! Yikes!

So, after my long day I was glad to be back in the flat, but as it turned out I had to go out one more time to take my mother home from her casual job at the local Chinese Restaurant - she usually drives there herself, but she and Dad went to a party with the paternal side of the family and finished too late for Mum to go home so Dad just dropped her off. But it turned out not so bad and I got to see some cool Christmas lights, nice.

Right, I better do a Meme or two then head for bed, zzzs are needed for tomorrow's library work!

Symbol

1. Which of the standard keyboard symbols best describes your mood right now? :O) I assume I can used more than one symbol.

2. On your brand-new family coat-of-arms, created right now whether you already have one or not, what animal is the central figure, representing the spirit and character of your family? A camel! :OP Because, with my last name being what it is it's pretty much mandatory. Plus I think the sturdy camel fits our family well.

3. In what ways is your vehicle symbolic of you? It's green, it's sexy :OP and it's fun!

4. What charms, figurines, or objects do you keep at hand to remind you of something or someone? Well, I wear a crucifix which reminds me of Jesus and an ice skate charm to remind me of ice skating and Plushy!

5. What song lyric best sums up your feelings heading into the weekend? Umm...hmmm...I'm not all that sure? I do have "I can't dance, I can't talk, the only thing about me is the way that I walk" stuck in my head, LOL.

13/11/15

Creativity

1. When did you last attempt to create something outside your usual realms of creativity? Well, I made my Halloween costume, which considering the last time I sewed was definitely out of my usual realm. But I like to think it came off very well!

2. Where do good ideas come from? Hmmm, I guess life experience, reading, seeing other people's creativity.

3. Rainer Maria Rilke famously said, “If my devils are to leave me, I’m afraid my angels will take flight, as well.” What are your thoughts on the portrayal of artists as tortured souls? I...dunno, a lot of artist really are tortured souls, but some aren't. So I guess, accurate some of the time. :OP I'm sure they'd rather not be tortured though!

4. What situations or environs put dampers on your creativity? Bitches playing loud music badly late at night. Nervousness. Sleepiness...

5. Who are some people you admire for their creativity? Plushy! :OD Jim Davis (creator of Garfield), lots of people on Tumblr.

20/11/15

Risk

1. What’s something you’re particularly bashful about? Showing my stories to people I know...in fact I've pretty much never done it!

2. What’s something that recently caused you personal shame? Well, Australia's "border policy" of turning back refugees who come on boat is personally embarrassing to me.

3. Who or what keeps you humble? Story of bravery, like people risking their lives to save others.

4. In what way did someone recently violate your privacy? Fortunately, I haven't had something like that happen in years and years. My brothers read some of my stories once and OMG that was horrible!

5. What’s something you don’t trust yourself with? Fragile objects, I'm clumsy.

Right, better wrap this up...

And the guitarist is still banging on, he's got 24 minutes until they'll be breaking the law, don't make me call the cops.

For now, goodnight!

10:56pm: Not that he reads my journal so it's not like he'll see this, I should send a tweet or something, but I thought I should mark the occasion. Although, as it happens the Ice Show isn't happening today because of the plane crash tragedy - since it would be a bit uncaring to have a big event in amid the mourning, particularly considering that it looks like a bomb might be responsible for it. Very disturbing...the black boxes need to be looked at before anyone can know for sure though.

In other news...I'm still stuck on ideas for NaNo! Could it be I've forgotten how to be creative? Shit, why did I stop writing? There was really no reason for me to do so! And now I don't have any fandoms to write for...except figure skating, but I don't write about real people, at least not ones that are alive.

I'm reminded though...I did have a story idea about the World's Oldest Tortoise, it's 200 years old this year, and when I heard about that I thought about all the adventures it could have had, although it's probably spent all of its time on the Galapogas Islands, but perhaps that's an idea.

Or perhaps my story about George III calls! That's actually the only story I've got that I could ever publish - the hypothetical tortoise tale excepted - and I've been neglecting GIII for some years now. The only issue would be that I'd have to spend a bit of time reading over what I've previously written.

Or perhaps, I should do a range of stories, which isn't exactly the idea of NaNo, but seeing as I'm so split on what to write and am rusty perhaps that would be best. And hey, the spirit of NaNo is to write! So why not?

Unfortunately, it'll have to wait until tomorrow because it's late now and I need to get myself to bed pronto! Not to mention I'm sleepy because I finally got back to the gym today, not to mention I went to the Mall afterwards and to Mona Vale before, so...busy day!

Right, off I go! Goodnight all!

NaNo Ideas

10:36pm: As a general rule I don't plan out NaNo, but I usually have a clue what I'm going to write, this time though...I haven't got the foggiest. Well, I kind of do, but I'm not actually sure I could sustain it for 50,000 words. The idea is to finally finish the Robotech fanfic I started ages and ages ago, and got quite a way through (and by quite a way I mean 52 chapters), but it's unfinished and all these years later I get the odd email from someone favouriting it or something on fanfiction.net. I've always planned on finishing it one day and I suppose this could be the kick in the pants I need. On the other hand it's not like I'm super into the fandom so do I have enough interest?

So yeah, a bit of a quandry and were almost three days in! If I don't decide so I'll fall way behind and that won't do at all.

In other news, tomorrow is Plushy's birthday! He'll be 33! Of course, he'll be having an ice skating show to celebrate and I'm nowhere near Russia to see it, shame. Hope it goes well!

In other news, I'm trying to watch this DVD that I borrowed from the library, but it's not going well at all, it's scratched so it keeps skipping in places. Considering this is a criminal procedural show skipping parts makes the whole thing a bit nonsensical. I tried cleaning it, but it didn't really work...irritating. There's a copy of the DVD at Mona Vale Library, so perhaps I should just borrow it from there, or maybe use the toothpaste trick.

But not tonight! Because it's late now and I have to get to bed, after last week I want to make sure I get my required zzzs!

I shall do the Sunday Memes tomorrow, I'm sure you can't wait :OP

And now, goodnight!

9:54pm: Indeed...I finally got to the shoe shop today, where there were quite a few shoes on sale, which was good, however, there was a sad lack of size 6 shoes among them. Eventually, though I found some and bought them for $99 (they usually retail for like $200), unfortunately...it seems I'm size six and a half, because I wore them this evening and they were just too tight! Which is a bit of a worry considering that the pink heels I ordered from E-Bay are size 6, but really its hard to tell with shoes. When I got home I measured my foot - it's 23 cm so I looked that up on the net and apparently it fits into both 6 and 6.5 category. Bah!

Anyway, the reason I wore them this evening was because this morning I missed a call on my mobile and when I rang back I found out it was Dee Why Library wanting to know if I'd be able to come in for the 4:30 to 7pm shift. Is the Pope Catholic?! I was in! So, you know, I had to wear the proper shoes, except of course, these proved not to be the proper shoes. Do'h. Maybe I should see if the other ones I got from M can be repaired. But I don't want a hard sole on them, that would defeat the purpose of the comfort sole!

So now I have to return the shoes tomorrow, good thing I'll be finishing early - since Mrs S has an 11am appointment - so I'll have enough time to do it. Funny story, when I purchased the shoes the lady accidentally put them through at $9.90 instead of $99! Yikes! I pointed that out so we had to get the calculator out to figure out how much more I needed to pay to get the right price, so I'm sure they'll be nice about me needing to return them. I won't mention I wore them outside! Though they still look pretty good.

Apart from that not much else to report, which is a good thing since I need to get to bed since I have to get up half an hour earlier to get to work on time - hopefully I won't be cutting it too close there - but I won't be having a shower since I'll have one after my work-out so that should help.

So I shall be off now, wondering if the news I just heard about Plushy and his back is true - in which case we won't be seeing him this skating season either, how sad. Oh well, whatever the case stay healthy (as you can), Plushy!

Right! Goodnight all!

PS. Oops! I just realised I forgot to wish my big bro a happy birthday for today! Better get onto that before I hit the sheets!
